@@adrianpodaru398 "Mirror matchup" isn't quite true. White initially has an advantage simply due to moving first. And opening lines are white/black specific, where at the top level it's considered a success just to equalize with the black pieces.
@@Blunderful19 actually equalising isn't that difficult. If you play right moves, especially following opening book you'll be there in no time. Only if they deviate and maybe play a little suboptimal moves for white to gain an advantage you can refute or get the chance to equalize

Zerg is easier to transition to than Terran. So my bet will be on Maru

@@mindyourbusiness4440 Maru could definitely play a macro game. Also you have to understand, in late games, terran fails in comparison to both races, that is why terran needs to put pressure early in the game, in order to win, if not, terran will get overwhelm
It's crazy how this is a tell tale sign of what units and style of play Serral finds hard to beat as Zerg.

Its almost as if when you utterly master a race like Serral with Zerg, you know EXACTLY what to do against zerg, when to do it and he has the APM to execute on it.

It's obviously Terran. Serral's micro plus medivac boosters. That right there is infinite deadly drops. Plus serral bio splits. I don't even need to watch this match to know that's a done deal.

Is random even allowed in tournaments?
There was an upper bracket and a lower bracket and since Serral blazed through the tournament only dropping 1 map before the finals, he had the Winner's Bracket advantage, so basically making the game a best of 6 since Serral needed 3 games to win while Zhugelian needed 4. Double elimination bracket advantage and things.

S: Terran is more fun, that’s why basically. If I offrace, I'll offrace terran, there's a lot of fun things, though sometimes quite frustrating things.

S: Well I surprised a bit how the banelings came continuously through in the last game. I had 10 tanks there, but they just weren't enough.

@@zee1645 actually PvP is being patched because of disadvantages Protoss have defending against the many openings Protoss have.
It's being shown in the latest patches notes.

Serral's Terran play reminds me of Byun. Not as good at it (obviously) but you see him forcing little engagements all around the map and showing some strong micro

One pattern I notice about winter is that he'll say something like: "I wish Serral would build BC's (or any other speculation) in the game, then it'll ALWAYS happen then he'll honk the horn." I think he watches the games prior the streams lol

He does the exact same strat and a has an 80% win rate vs zerg with BC opener. So he knew what was going on because of that.
Martin he is usually honest and says i havent seen this. honestly, that was actullay a prety obvious bc match. theres no reason for that much gas becuase he has to spend it all. he didnt add on anything else but since i dont do terran idk if thats just cuase it was to early

Was nice to see BC's actually used. I think with the fire-while-moving update, they are better suited to maps with a nice unpathable space around the bases, like a void or impassable high ground. Not much of that on the first map here. Jump is great for entering a fight but pretty horrible for getting out.
Most important question - did Serral play the whole tournament off race or just the finals? Still way to go for him. *claps*

I remember what it's like to offrace terran and knowing how to make a Zerg cry inside the current meta. Serral really, really kicks that up a notch here. @ one point, you can see him appearing to kill every creep tumor the moment it is laid or spread with the perfect 2 hellions+1 reaper, just because he knows creep timings that well. The positioning with those hellbats. The reaper patterns. SO BRUTAL.
Didnt understand any of this, some dogs and squirrels fighting small tanks and dudes with flamers. The small bats are cute though, the ones gathering the blue stuff. Fun to watch.
I like the Lego buildings myself. They even fly. Sure have come a long way since I was a kid.

Sure there are still some great toss like Stats, $o$, Neeb, but they don’t get talked about almost at all.

Seeing Serral play Terran felt so good in a weird way. Seeing the Zerg expert dismantle a the Zerg ZGL like a surgeon that last game was amazing. Such heavy scouting because he knew what he could abuse. Oh, Hive tech isn't being produced? Let's keep pressuring ZGL so that he can never make the switch to Hive tech. ZGL had 2000+ gas at one point, and only a couple hundred minerals because he kept making lings, banes, and hydras. He had a spire, but he never did anything with it. He could've spared a 10 lings and gotten a viper or two. If he'd just made two vipers with every incoming wave of lings, he would've done a lot better. For each ling he didn't make into a bane, he could've had more efficient production with vipers. With lings, surface area is a problem. The same problem exists with banes, but once they make their bust, there is now more room for more banes. Just cut out some lings for some vipers and he would've done better. He probably still would've lost because Serral was so on top of every tech switch and was deciding the pace of the game, but damn it was tough to watch the lack of Hive tech aside from upgrades.
That airship micro of Serral's is just ridiculous. I have no other words for it. :p

I wish this was done more in tournament play. Best of 5 and 7 series where each player needs to play every race at least once.
You can't outrun him, you can't destroy him. If you damage him, the essence of what he is remains; he regenerates and keeps coming. Eventually you will weaken, your reserves will be gone... he is relentless.
