I'm a former Marine, and I do pen turning, and never tried doing logos. I have to try doing that with the Marine Semperfi MC. That is so cool. Thanks for sharing the video.
Great video man! Thanks for taking the time to explain your process in such great detail. Nicely done. And the pen looks amazing as well. Thanks again.
Nice video! Am an Air Force vet so will be trying to cast a bolt action pen with a AF logo. Your explanation on how to attach the label to the tube is the first one I've found that actually explains the steps in gluing it to the tube and then covering the paper with a couple coats of CA to seal it. I didn't do that last step and my label peeled off during the curing.
Thanks so much for watching!! I appreciate the comment aswell as your service for the country. I also been using label paper now off labels.com saves a step still need to layer it with ca and let it cure .
Amazing pen! I've turned a couple of the bolt action kits myself but I used cocobolo blanks. I get so many compliments on them. I grew up in Winsted, MN. Joined the Navy in 1998, still in living in San Diego, CA Really like the purple blank! Makes me miss the Vikings even more. Great video.
Its very fun and addictive..ended up buy non stop in the beginning just all sorts of pen kits ...like 600 in 2 weeks died of winter time off work just pen turning all day lol
Great video! I make pens as well and just bought the mold for tube in casting. Glad I dont have to buy labels and can just print them out and seal them with CA. I'd like a deer antler blank if you have one. Keep up the good work! -Cody
I am a Freemason and I like the Blue/Purple/White/Gold. I Love Fountain Pens and would like to make one with these resin colors... would glitter show up well? If you make a Masonic Fountain Pen, I'd like to see that and possibly purchase one. Thanks
Excellent video and well presented. Well done. Just one comment if I may. I have had problems with water ingress discolouring the label., Have you had any problems ? I now seal the ends with CA. All the best. Regards Frederick
Thanks for showing how to do the label casting. I had been wondering how they are made. I subscribed a couple of weeks ago and have sure enjoyed your videos. I’m interested in winning your pinecone blank.
So far all my pens have been made out of wood blanks. I've been finishing them off with bees wax. It looks ok, but l think it could be better. What would you recommend? I tried that glue finish you did in the video you made with your wife and I really need to practice that. Didn't turn out so good. Great videos!
You dont need one , but is best for a perfect result everytime ..might get a bubble or 2 every once in a while if you dont ..with a clear you will obviously see them more than you would with colored resin
Thank you !! I was just showing a way of doing it on paper , I also use label sheets and printable vinyl...those are definitely the easier less messy ways.
For this pretty much a printer..and paint on the computer... Just need something to size images that you grab online You don't really have to make your own like I did

If i dont have the non stick bushings to seal my label on lathe, how could i do this part???
Great Video. Would love the deer antler blank if your still giving anything away.
What soft ware are you using to make the label
I love that white one

JB for wood sanding sealer, then wipe on five coats of Melamine lacquer, finish with one coat of Carnauba wax. This process is all done on the lathe.
ok.I keep watching your videos
Thank you!!!
You can also use Avery self-sticking printer label sheets.
What’s the exact size you made the finish item to stick on the brass tube please?
Oh forgot to ask do you need a pressure pot to make blanks?
You dont need one , but is best for a perfect result everytime ..might get a bubble or 2 every once in a while if you dont ..with a clear you will obviously see them more than you would with colored resin
As a Marine I would like to have one.
Thank you for your service, much appreciated!
In your video you said you are using Alumulite fast, but the bottle label looks like the slow cast. Which one is correct?
Ho friend, do you have used a normal paper ti stamp your logo?
I did in this video now I use label paper ..easier if you have time to order it plus need to buy atleast 10 sheets
Suggest going to dollar store and buy single edge razor blades to trim. Good video
Need help in making the actual label what software etc. thanks
Very nice video, but why don’t you use Vinyl self adhesive instead of that fidelity glue? 👍😱👍👍
Thank you !! I was just showing a way of doing it on paper , I also use label sheets and printable vinyl...those are definitely the easier less messy ways.
Are you able to see the line from where the label comes together in the back?
Not really no , gotta use a sharpie on that seem but only you will really know where it is
Great pen! can a laser printer be used or must it be an inkjet?
What's software do you use ? The deer pen blank
I use vinyl masters software
Nice
Do you sell the casted blanks? Do you do custom?
I do , what are you looking for ...wanna message me on Facebook if you have one @ All American Arts
What software do I need to start doing this type of work?
For this pretty much a printer..and paint on the computer... Just need something to size images that you grab online You don't really have to make your own like I did
