I started school in 2020 to change careers and get into IT and hopefully eventually cybersecurity. After a number of hurdles, I eventually had to drop out of school after trying to stay in through lockdowns, and going back to in-person learning, financial hardships, etc. I was feeling incredibly low, but I've worked my way through the Linux Fundamentals course on HTB academy, I've made it to episode 8, and I have to say these videos are AMAZING. They've gotten me back on track to just learn this stuff on my own, and have been instrumental in getting me out of the funk I was in. Please continue this series, its amazing. It has been easier to learn these topics from you and your channel, than it has been listening to numerous boring lectures by profs who don't want to teach.
I wish I had his energy too. So many times I work towards getting from point A to point B in my life and then once I get there I end up bored and lose interest.
I hope you feel the affection that the community gives you, you are inspiring so many people And we really appreciate that. Personally, you are my idol

Amazing content. You have literally saved me in my Network Engineering and Security Analysis course. Im in my 4th of 6 semesters and because of Covid and Canada still being dumb with these lock downs, I have not been taught in person once only online. But those videos and lectures are the absolute worst way to learn and it is almost like they are not capable of teaching the material. But you on the other hand are an amazing teacher and I understand the content and I walk actually more informed. Thank you so much
Bro you're videos make me feel (as a 31 year old dude) that I can actually learn new skills and switch in to IT if I want to... I've always felt like IT is for like 20 year olds and no matter what I do I'll never catch up, but you've inspired me to really give it a go.

This was my experience too, studied cyber security full-time online under 2 years of lockdown in Melbourne AU, this video series has given me a better grasp on linux than that whole course
Hay NetworkChuck I am a huge fan of your channel and really like the way you explain things and like to mention few network related stuff for your future video creations, some of the topic were briefly discussed in your videos too. 1. Installing and configure Web Server from scratch preferbally Apelchi 2. Configure SSH server 3. Install FTP server and configure it's security 3. Firewall configuration and tweaks for best practices (iptables, ufw or any other) 4. Using CURL and Postman
Thank you for your content, you motivated me to quit my boring metal worker job to chase my dream job. I just started to work in IT support and I love it.
Great episode, ironically I spent yesterday learning how to do exactly this with Python, and some other things.. I felt transported back to 1996 looking at directory listing web servers.. does anyone else remember using lynx web browser!? Awesome content Chuck! Thank you!
This guy just motivated me to get into linux and software development I wish everyone could watch your videos and get the same great inspiration. Thanks for your content 🙏🏾 🙌
I love your videos because you explain it in a easy way like how it said “server listen” you said that it is only going to listen and get requests if you say stuff/request stuff on port 8080. I feel like I’m going to a collage at my age (11). Thanks Man keep it up.
@@saurabhk3464 You're a void of a human being huh? No personality and constantly just trashing others to feel that you are something in this world? Get a life dude and cheer up.
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
Bro, your videos are like.. I think I am addicted😂, forever following you Chuck, you brought me into I.T and till now your the only one still maintaining me in it, I.T is dope thanks to your help and experiences
The more I've gone through this series/course/whatever eveyone calls it, the more I've come to notice that it actually feels kinda stupid to use a mouse to point and click things :D Could be just me but it actually feels more convenient or natural to use command line.😅 Learning skills like this never ignited any fires in me in school but now, like over 10 years later because I found your channel and videos, I find myself going through the same things that my teachers tried to teach me while running through HacktheBox Academy. Well, better late than never...🤔 Thank you Chuck for doing this series/course/w.e. ❣
Weird comment, but this is for you Chuck. I think you owe it to yourself to try Turkish style coffee if you haven't already. For anyone wondering, it's basically regular good coffee, but WAY stronger. You sip it from a cup the size of a shot glass which probably has more caffeine than a whole cup of normal coffee. It also needs less sugar because of the ratio of coffee to sugar. It's an experience I think you'll enjoy, even if it doesn't end up being your every day thing
NetworkChuck I just wanted to thank you for all of your awesome videos but more importantly, I wanted to thank you for putting the fun in everything IT. It would be a lot of fun to interview you sometime.
Thank you again for the amazing videos. I cannot wait to watch everything past the fundamental stuff. Right now I need to go break my Kali VM and try to put it back together again. Keep up the great work.
The Kali website "links to a NetworkChuck video" that's actually a link to his Twitter. But I thought it was still pretty cool that the 1st paragraph of a guide is pointing to "his video" for a visual representation of the guide.
since hackthebox only lets me open the VM one time a day I started using a kali VM instead this entire series. way better and really smooth (I followed your tutorial for kali)
I love and protect spiders unless there is a risk with one. In general I'll leave them be in my house or set them outside if it isn't winter. Outside of a few species of them they aren't really dangerous.

real life = boring ; NEW video from Chuck = Enthusiasm + Motivation + new ideas to break norma routine
I love spiders. They are basically natural web designers. Also the best in catching bugs. You cannot not love them.
