Joy you are absolutely brilliant! Your endless creativity in repurposing materials is astonishing. I truly love your projects. I am sure you can also be a great artisan jewelry designer.
I am so glad you made the lights removable. I have had LED strips fail in a display case after a couple of years. They do not really last forever. Your tube and string idea is a perfect solution! I groan when I see people set their LEDs straight into the epoxy.
Wow! I've never seen a more amazing home. Your Imagination and talent in rendering your ideas are superb! I would be in heaven just letting my eyes soak in all your treasures throughout your tiny palace. Congrats and thanks for letting us visit :)
Thanks for taking the time to comment Linda! It is an absolute joy to know my home and treasures are being viewed and enjoyed by people all over the world... lots more to come so stay tuned :)
This is absolutely beautiful. Very unique and artistic. You have just convinced me to start looking for granite scraps and more agates. I wanted to make sure I understand that the tubing and lights are submerged under the resin. What did you use underneath as a substrate to keep the resin in place?
Hi Tina, thanks for the feedback, I nearly missed your question!...the LED light strip/ ribbon is within the tube which is then submerged or mostly submerged with the first 10 mm resin pour. The tube needs to enter and exit the granite with no resin inside of it, so the ribbon can be moved and replaced if necessary. I glued the granite pieces straight onto the old wooden bench with a construction glue cartridge, I was generous with the glue so that when levelled the glue squished out abit, formed a seal and stopped the resin pour from seeping under the granite pieces. To stop the resin escaping from where the tube enters and exits, I used both bluetac and plasticine to make a seal. The very best of luck, cheers Joy
