I like how Hannibal covers his hands with the handkerchief for the statue so as not to leave fingerprints but my favourite thing is when he knocks over the cabinet holding the statue with the handkerchief too because he knew there would be a discrepancy if there were no prints on the statue but there were prints on the cabinet
It was to give the impression of a struggle at the site of the murder weapon, otherwise it would appear that he was killed unnecessarily. This the smudging of the prints: if the prints were intact it would potentially indicate that there wasn't a struggle for control of the object used to kill Tobias. Thus upon examination it will appear that Hannibal narrowly walked away with his life rather than having successfully grappled for control of the fight and directed the course of it much sooner. He didn't have to kill him at that point; he wanted to. And that's relevant to investigators along with the law.

Tobias is my favorite killer
Genuine question for anyone who sees this:
What is the cord or wire that Tobias uses?
it seems to be a piano wire. not sure. it cant be one of his cello strings because he makes them from human gut, im not sure that would be strong enough to kill someone. dno for sure. maybe it is a gut wire because it quickly curls around hannibals hand. I personally think it is piano wire since he was aiming for strangulation.
why are you asking you sound like you're hunting for a murder weapon 😂😂
Human gut one, i think, because at that point FBI was going to capture him and somehow he was thinking to duel with Hannibal, so nothing to lose for him
It’s good the series doesn’t make Hannibal out to always be the winner. Jack beats him a couple times, and he gets caught off guard in the pool
