O operă care îmi place foarte mult prin subiect, prin frumusețea ariilor, prin dramatismului părții finale, prin complexitatea personajelor! Un duet remarcabil, două voci care se armonizează, două personaje aparținând unor lumi total diferite sub aspectul tradițiilor, al culturii și al civilizației!
O interpretare magistrală a rolurilor!

Incredible beautiful and moving this performance of Madama Butterfly recorded on CD! Jonas didn't like to play Pinkerton on stage but even without seeing him, there are so many feelings in his voice: bravade, amazement, delicacy, love, passion....A record with a very good cast and conductor Pappano, to have and listen to, over and over again....👏👏👏👏💘

Le talent ne fatigue jamais, en tout cas pas à moi, surtout quand il s'illustre par des qualités exceptionnelles telles que celles d'un Jonas Kaufmann...Par contre la médiocrité qui ne manque pas de nos jours, en bien des domaines, m’exaspère et finit effectivement par me fatiguer....Mais bien sur rien a voir avec notre fabuleux ténor, et ce beau duo d'amour si bien interprété également par Angela Gheorghiu, qui fut souvent décriée...Merci pour ce partage...

Pinkerton is not a nice man, but Kaufmann makes him sound like a perfect lover for Angela's cho-cho san. What a beautiful, expressive duet!
Its so interesting about Pinkerton's character. I would not say he is 'not a nice man'. He is certainly not a villain, like Scarpia or Jago! He is a young man, insensitive and perhaps selfish. But at this moment in the opera - having seen her disowned by the family - I believe that he really does feel something real for her. He is very sexually charged, but I also think there's more. Sure he forget it next day, but at least he feels bad in the end! ;0
