I support Fiorentina and saw them several times in 92-93. The season ended badly but Laudrup remains one of the best players I've ever seen in a viola shirt. Fiorentina then was a brilliant offensive team with a not-so great defence - but the team was easily good enough to finish in the UEFA Cup places. The problem for Laudrup - and others - was the disastrous decision made by president Vittorio Cecchi Gori to sack coach Gigi Radice after a home defeat to Atalanta (Fiorentina dropped from 2nd to 5th!) and replace him with Aldo Agroppi who was totally out of his depth. It all ended in tears and relegation. But I have only good memories of Laudrup in Florence. His story in Viola should have been very different.
