Dead Humpback Whale washes up on beach - Atlantic City, New Jersey

I woke early feeling restless so i decided to walk along the beach shortly after sunrise.
Beyond all odds i stumbled upon a recently deceased 30' juvenile humpback whale although at the time i had incorrectly identified it as a right whale.
I believe i was the first one on the scene but some police officers showed up minutes later (they got a phone call but not from me)
It was a strange, sad, and exhilarating experience!

Yes i was also surprised by that outcome! It is not buried all that deep so i have a feeling that there might be some undesirable lingering effects .... we shall see
