Everything @icetek0713 said and a few more points. First time through the video before deciding to build one of these it seemed straightforward, but it’s anything but. During the assembly steps the person occludes critical things with their hands. There are a number of small parts that are similar but you have to bounce around through the video to make sure the part you think is being used is the one you are getting ready to use. Hold the parts up to the camera so we can see exactly which part is which. The escapement is critical but there’s no explanation of why you use the escapement part labeled 1, 2, or 3. There’s mention of binding but for something so critical, this should be better explained. And there's a number of places that are supposed to be slip fits for screws but the holes have to be drilled out. Those holes should be enlarged to print properly without requiring rework. There also seem to be clearance issues between the balance wheel and the spring anchor point. Maybe there’s something I’m missing, but if so that’s just another weakness in this video because we can’t see the parts well enough or their final positioning when properly assembled. These parts are small, some are very similar, and the yellow color in the video washes out detail we need to see. I’ve spent a week printing the parts and now four hours trying to assemble it and countless back and forth FF/RW with the video. My eyes are older and I wear glasses and this video is no help for any of that. Please redo this with showing the parts clearly to the camera and call out their designators on the print 3mf file. Put ink marks on one side of the parts so we can see which way tiny or hard to see stuff is oriented. Don’t use yellow. Grays don’t look good as a model but are much better for seeing important detail. I’m sure this is a great model but it’s complex and there’s lots of things the video glosses over that leave us wondering and having to look all around and over and over to figure out. Until you redo the video I really cannot recommend this kit except to really advanced makers.
Stuck on the escarpment part [I think] just can't get it to tick, an explanation as to what adjustments are needed and even a clip of what it should look like at that step is needed
Need better explanation on which parts are needed as there are more parts printed than is needed. Also, need a better explanation of what screws are used in each step. Maybe a visual would help. Especially for first timers. Also colors that don't contrast so bad would be helpful too. I also got to the end of the build, doing it the way the video said to only to realize that the video did not cover at which point you add the screw covers.
This is a *****y nightmare to build. A lot of the assembly is very much trial and error. I still have not been able to achieve the desired result from section 1 !!! At 5.34 of the video it shows the position of the '3 pronged part' despite lining every thing up it just won't work. I hope that I can resolve this as I have now printed the spring and the ratchet 3 times. The kit is good but the instructions leave a lot to be desired. Maybe these kits need to be tested by the sellers tome sure that the whole project is explained much more easily. Anyway this is my 3rd day of not completing section 1 so am going to leave it before I throw it and come back to it in a few days !!
In the vid parts fit with each other like silk. In reality every single part needs fit sanding, hole size adjustment, all the hex joins need careful fit filing, all seam joints need to be made to go away, bearing tubes need careful reaming etc etc etc. Part thickness fit along the main shaft axis have to be carefully adjusted otherwise gear meshes will be out. This is not a beginner project and really needs decent engineering skills and close attention to detail to successfully complete

Worst assembly video ever, wish I'd never bought this goddamn kit

Sad Story
Hardly encouraging for potential purchasers maybe listen to all the criticism and take it on board … it’s not just me !!

Thank you for the very helpful reminder😊

The video is not the greatest, but it's one of the only ones we've got 💀
@ANTINSKY3D did better than nothing, but we're still half cooked
Thanks. We will continue to work hard.
