there'll never be any replacement for all the goodness that is a real guitar amp though... even if they get it to sound exactly the same, it won't LOOK like a half stack
If anyone is struggling with having the amp say connected and you aren’t getting any sound, mostly likely you need to change the thingy that changes headphone jack to eye phone jack, only Apple ones work
It's so funny to watch this video again after some time. I am trying to convince a friend who moved to California few years ago to give the iRig a try. Believe it or not only well into the discussion I remembered "Wait, there is a demo you can watch!!" and pointed him to the video...

If you click on the I (as info) you can see the whole FX/Amp chain and even the recommended guitar and which pickup to use (bridge vs neck). By clicking on edit you can fine tune each parameter like gain or volume for the amp and the reverb which was too much for Yellow Ledbetter.. ps for around 20 dollars you can get JamUp Pro (there is a free version as well). 10/2/19. Ryan, you said you wouldn’t record your “records” with the iRig2. Are you recording on vinyl? If so, why? haha records was a generic term. The true way to record on vinyl is directly to vinyl like Jack White does at his third man record. Vinyl (and tape for that matter) has an infinity bit rate, which is why it's superior to digital means. I have ultra super high bit rate "mastered for vinyl" files of my finished songs, which I will put on vinyl when I reach the required amount of total minutes, but that's not true recording to vinyl - though even still better than an .mp3 I would never use sampled horn or violin sounds, but I have no trouble using sampled synth sounds, since those are electronic in nature anyway. I prefer using sampled drums because it's a real performance by a real drummer that I actually play with that is much easier to edit. maybe someday I'll record real drums with real mics, but that's what samples are anyway, but micing a drum set is hard for everyone. all fun things for future ponderings :)
