Is this for sure the correct order on the bolts and washers? I always thought the flat washer was to be on the same side as the bolt head to keep ot from digging into the metal.
Great video and extremely helpful. On my Xterra, the license plate would be completely blocked as it's down right where the hitch is. Is there a way to attach a license plate to the cargo carrier? Thanks
I had it folded up the whole time I was driving around once we got to our destination and it does not bounce around at all. I would say the only downside to folding it up is that you can't open up the trunk of the van without folding it back down if you need to get in there.
I brought this and heading for trip soon. The rattle prevention clamp unfortunately is not doing much in my case. With empty carriage I still see it rattle. I also brought a new anti rattle clamp from HF and got same issue. I have 2inch hitch on my SUV. How was your experience with the anti rattle clip?
I did not experience much rattling, but I think it will rattle more with the empty carriage them with a load. The antirattle clamp it comes with, and the one from Harbor freight are very similar. Not the best quality. You could definitely buy better.
Just try and balance your load as much as possible so stuff doesn’t slide around. Don’t put all the heavy stuff on one side for example. That and make sure all your straps are tight and tied up and you should be good to go!
@@fixitFlip thanks. We are on our trip. Just drove through the Mojave desert roads (even the dirt unpaved roads). So far all good. The only thing I have noticed so far is that getting in/out of parking lots may scrape the bottom, so need to be careful.
This was so helpful showing both assembly and practical use along with your overall review at the end. Thank you!
No problem and thank you for the kind words!
Brother, this video was a blessing. Saw this listed on that one Bezos store but was skeptical. Sold. ( ...also, @3:35 :P )
Someone finally noticed, lol.
This is such a wonderful, easy to understand video. I was lucky to get two plates that had the name on it. Thank you so much.
No problem and thank you for the kind words!
Thanks so much. I wasn't sure how to install the anti rattle plate.

helpful! and the rustoleum spray looks better than the original :)

great job but i would have put blue locktight on the 4 bolts to make sure they don't come loose.
Good idea!
Awesome content❣️ Thank you!!!
Thanks and no problem!
I'd probably get a few cans of PB Blaster "surface shield" and spray it inside the tubing best i could to preserve it even more...
Good tip!

Yep, this is correct.

Thats interesting. My suggestion would be using self-tapping screws or drilling holes and using nuts and bolts.
Very helpful. Thank you!
No problem. Glad I could help.
very helpful video. thanks. wondering though , how does it do when its folded up ? does it bounce around a lot ? it looks really close to the van

OK. Thanks @fixitflip

No problem and good tip there!
Very cool
Thanks!

No problem.
Exhaust heat didn’t burn anything?
Not at all. It was actually one of the specific things I was looking for. Thanks for reminding me. I should have mentioned that in the video.

@@fixitFlip thank you. Any more tips for using this carriage on long trips?

Yes, true. The bend in the hitch pipe helps with that some but not 100%. Safe traveling. @@RaviGidwani5
How has it held up since you painted it
I haven't gone on any trips and put it out in the elements yet but I will soon!
Is it a pain to get into the trunk when the hitch is up?
You cannot get into the trunk with the carrier folded up if that’s what your asking.

Very helpful thank you!!!!
