The vocal coach in this video is Joan Lader. I first met Joan about one year into my Broadway run with “Movin’ Out”. I sang every song in that show and to be honest, I was in rough vocal shape. Joan Lader literally saved my voice and although I no longer live in New York, I still study with her over the Internet as well as whenever I’m in New York. I can tell you that there is no one better. There is no way I would’ve made it through the three year plus run with that show without Joan. I am forever grateful 🙏
This is a lovely tribute. I saw you in that show. I've often wondered how you did it. It was CRAZY in my opinion and you sounded amazing. I teach youth musical theatre in California and I have mentioned the superhuman feat you accomplished 8 TIMES A WEEK!!!!

I love seeing the training and warming up and with Raúl Esparza who has such a glorious voice!!!!
These actors were amazing to listen to. But I was really impressed by the guy at 6:20, amazing voice! And the woman at 9:20 was amazing too, I remember learning that warm up in musical theatre too. It's a pretty fun warm up 😄
I think the lady is Renee Goldsberry she was Angelica in Hamilton but she’s an amazing performer.
I like how she knows exactly what she's talking about when she's training the actor's voice. When she's talking about the voice of a person she goes into full description on what she's talking about and it helps me understand whats happening in the video. The singers in the video help with my point when they feel like their voices improve based off her training and thats something I admire.
Kudos to NATS member Joan Lader, one of the best voice coaches in the theater field.

I'm a vocal soloist and coach as well, and im VERY glad I came across this video. Joan Lader appears to be a great teacher with some very useful techniques, exercises, and holistic approaches to developing the singing voice. I am definitely adding some of these warm ups to me, and my students daily vocal warm up routine!!

Oh, dear. If you are getting sore, please find yourself a qualified teacher. That shouldn't happen. You could feel fatigued, but you shouldn't feel sore.
If you’re doing them correctly, you won’t feel sore.
No it depends who you go too . i took vocal lessons back in the summer 1999 . That don't happen

I wonder if he was on the floor to be able to get used to singing while being in different bodily positions while still supporting with the diaphragm or to feel vibrations thru the floor
