I learned to ride on one of these at 11 in 2015. I eventually got tired of always fixing it and my dad sold it two or three years ago but man it feels great to hear one run again.

Preservation. Good for them/you dude, for keeping the OG patina! I ride a 1978 Kromag Swinger 2, with a mid-tuned 70cc cylinder, bigger carb, pipe... various custom bits I made myself, then modern tires....Around Detroit, Michelin City Pro's... but all her paint, and all other finishes, OG. 😁

That little Bike will be a nice Little ripper! You should buy that off your friend clean up the paint and detail the bike.
You would be surprised, that paint with a little TLC would shine like New!

Try to look for similar model mikuni carbs like the vm20, some of the other model bowl gaskets might be interchangeable with the carb you have, and unfortunately with the rarity of the bike you most likely will have to measure the handle bars and get and aftermarket lever and perch set or look for a set of oem levers for a Japanese motorcycle of the same vintage like a Yamaha, they look old school but are a lot easier to find, also that petcock valve is not supposed to be rebuilt, they are riveted from the factory and they do not make parts for them, you will have to check the threads on the tank and look for a similar aftermarket petcock valve with the same threaded nut, it's unfortunate to have to use aftermarket parts but in alot of cases with old rare cars and bikes you have to work with what's available, because even if you found a NOS fuel valve, the rubber would be bad from sitting on the shelf all these years and would certainly leak very quickly. I hope too see this bike back up and on the road in the future.

Hey migs that is a nice ass bike you are a awesome friend for getting it running for your buddy. If I where you I would play a trick on your buddy and say it got stolen and then tell him April fools just to see his reaction lol. Well a heads up you should use lucas bike 2 stroke oil 10w 40 and also probably a new spark plug. Well take it easy bud and God bless you and your family peace out. Keep grinding and never let anyone tell you can't do something if you go 100.

Looks the similar to a pw50 or 80 carb more likely a 80.. order a gasket kit for that and see if it fits no harm in trying

THAT'S ONE OF THE JAPANESE OR TAIWANESE MODELS WITH THE FUJI HODAKA KNOCK OFF MOTOR, MOST OF THE DIRTBIKES WERE ITALIAN MOTORS THE REST OF THE BIKE WAS ASSEMBLED IN CHINA EXCEPT FOR THE ITALIAN BOBCAT 100 ALL ITALIAN I HAD ONE FOR MANY YRS TILL IT WAS STOLEN IN LAS VEGAS. THE SMALLER 70S AND THE MINI BAMBINO 50 MAY HAVE BEEN MADE AND ASSEMBLED IN ITALY. THEN LATER ON ITAL JET BOUGHT THEM OUT, I THINK THOSE WERE MADE IN ITALY MY 1972 ME 125/5 HAS THE MINARELLI ITALIAN MOTOR WAS ASSEMBLED IN TAIWAN. WHEN THEY WERE HAVING FINANCIAL TROUBLES I GUESS THEY HAD THEM MADE BY THE LOWEST BIDDER.
