The thing that concerns me the most about the incident Keekihime suffered today is that the stalker in question is still out there. Now that he’s been put on blast on the internet he might grow even more delusional and unhinged. A cornered rat is often more dangerous. It sucks to have her visit to Japan ruined like this, but she should probably keep a low profile for the remainder of the trip. I hope her friends related to her other activities are also put on high alert, just to be safe.
@chocococo852 I do agree, for the vast majority probably won't physically do anything and will just spread the word instead. The government sure as shit won't intervene, but there might be someone as brazen to take matters themselves like a vigilante or something
Unironically scary, some dude 20-30 cm taller than her grabbed and held her from behind. She's right when she says the dude could have killed her if he wanted so. The dude is not mentally stable so it's not really a far-fetched thought, he's been stalking her since her NND times.

yeah UA-cam has ramped up the censorship thanks to the mr beast/Chris Tyson incident. Sadly that extends to censorship of everything. Hate speech the broadest thing possible you get hit with it if you just use specific keywords.
It's disgusting how the first thing the event organizers were worried about was the even being ruined... Does someone have to get murdered before they start caring?!
Yes. And that's really disgusting to think about. I just can't fathom how something like this can happen. Keekihime is a treasure. I just don't want something like what happened to Christina Grimmie happen to anyone. That shit still haunts me.
i mean, they could just bring him to security room and call the cops there, but I guess there's too much effort for a foreign cosplayer. lets just wait and see what her agency will do instead
@@mikepaulson69 it was heartbreaking to hear the audio account from her after looking at the photos... The organizers for Comiket are going to have a lot of explaining to do in the next few days
Sounds like bodyguards are a necessity in Japan for anything idol-adjacent. Would be great to stick the organizers with the bill since they've repeatedly failed and know of the police inefficacy.
Yeah it's sad but needs to happen. Even Connor and co hire a big dude when they go out to stream from Disney or some such. But i also feel such bodyguards need to get into the habit of supplexing people, yknow to send message

@@kingofherosking3510yeah it's definitely not any better if you've paid attention to the feminism situation in Korea. At least it's not Africa or India.
Someone recorded the situation when people stepped up against him, you can hear Keeki in the background and she sounded so scared like she was going to cry. It's sad that the police didn't do anything and let him go.
I've been in a similar situation as a cosplayer and if you can even manage to speak during something like this it's physically painful to talk and what are you going to say anyways? Your brain is overwhelmed and are you really gonna ruin this for everyone else? I didn't know who Keeki was until today and it's just horrific to hear these thoughts come out from a 'stranger'. This is just awful and I wish her the best 🙏
It's not "sad". it's a fucking outrage, lol. Do victims have no rights in Japan? Japan is a shockingly backwards country in some ways, but they're good at hiding it so it doesn't come up often. Don't look now, but it just came up.
@@friedfriedchicken To be clear, though, she said in her Twitter space, shown in the video, that she actually tried to pursue the matter formally with police and she was told that nothing could be done, essentially because she's a foreigner. So it's not just a question of her freezing up or something. It's that the Japanese justice system is unjust.
It's absolutely disgusting that they won't try and persecute him in any way; at the very least put him on the offender registry because now there's PLENTY of evidence to prove him guilty It's vile; she (and anyone else in similar situations) is just stuck with the option to never do events again or the option of being paranoid about him showing up to any events she does; and the only hope she has is the defense of him being banned from cons and stuff, or fans recognizing and calling him out The only upside to this it seems, is that his face is out in the public, so even if the justice system refuses to serve justice, at the very least there's the "protection" of public knowledge
Now that his face is out there and if she ever decides to go to an event like this again you can be sure there will be a fan patrol on the lookout for this guy, also as a comment pointed out on another channel covering this if she goes to the Austrian embassy in Japan and brings it up there they could make it an international problem to force the Japanese police into arresting the guy (and possibly even start taking these crimes seriously overall) if only to save face. If enough countries raise a stink about it maybe they'll actually fix the justice system over there.
I've been a professional Cosplay Photographer for 10 years, and I've seen and heard many stories like this with Cosplayers. There's been numerous times I've had to step between the Cosplayer and a touchy or aggressive Con goer and literally be a Human shield for them. Listening to the full Twitter Space confirms some assumptions I had about the man. He's likely orbits the local Cosplay communities, pretending to be a legitimate Photographer (not uncommon), trying to worm his way in these events in order to get close to these women. Listening to the testimony of others at the event, I'm sure he has been doing this for years, waiting and hoping to see Keekihime again. The staff completely failed in protecting not only Keekihime, but every other cosplayer at this event. Where was security? How did a man that is taller than average in Japan manage to slip away? Why did it take several seconds for others to pull him off her? What made her feel she HAD to stay and let more photographers get their pictures? Absolutely outrageous!
oh the jp police already have a reputation for acting so little, the national government's had to start stepping in to force them to care. and even that's not entirely working.

Apparently Japanese police are utterly incompetent when it comes to stuff like this, and it’s even worse if the victim isn’t a native. Not the same situation, but one thing that shows how little the Japanese police cares about a native committing a crime against a non-Japanese person would be the situation involving Issei Sagawa. He murdered a woman in Paris and did eventually get deported back to Japan, but the Japanese legal system just let him roam free until his death in 2022.

It's kinda disgracefull that Japan does nothing for public safety in that regard. Often displayed in Manga's or Anime. It's not exaggerated. That stuff happens in Japan. As seen here. They literally don't care enough to improve it.
@@brizjoasbriz7982we're talking about a stalker here. whole different problem and hardly unique to foreigners in japan. recently, a girl stalking a guy (and already being under a restraining order) registered a marriage with him using false documents and created a massive legal nightmare bc marriages are famously difficult to annul there and require long court proceedings even when divorces are mutual. even politicians who have to deal with them often get shrugged at. and these same people just covered their eyes and ears and tuned everyone out after abe's stalker, having persisted for years, killed the guy. it's only in the past few years that people in power are caring enough to do literally anything beyond pure lip service to address any of the problem. even with the 2021 legal overhaul, police are still reluctant to do anything, and back in march this year the national police agency publicly ordered police across the country to actually monitor for restraining order violations. many older japanese people don't seem to understand how much of a loss of face this is, both domestically and internationally. also unfortunately a court recently ruled the stalking laws aren't broad enough to cover gps stalking. (japan should take a page from the west's book and define it broadly in terms of intent and expected impact, rather than list specific actions.)
Japan is really scummy about this kind of thing. The supposed "culture" over there is almost entirely centered around victim blaming, treating victims like "troublemakers" for being the "cause" of "incidents", and heavily favoring the "male point of view" and never taking issues like these seriously. And of course whenever you try to bring this kind of thing, you always get the self-rightous, toxic weebs trying to say that we shouldn't be "pushing our agendas on their culture" even when it's highlighting ugly, dark and unfairly biased parts of it's culture that are objectively wrong and need to change.
Poor Keeki. This kind of thing has happened to her before more than once. :-( She's genuinely really gutsy to be willing to continue to do public stuff, if I had to deal with a fraction of what she has I'd have gone hermit-mode years ago. She doesn't deserve this shit.
nobody deserve this. But this is japan, a bit better than india or africa. I dont know if any of you notice the subway incident but base on that you can grasp what is japan.

The good thing is that fans already know this. The creepy side of this is that he will probably be armed next time. So the bodyguard is a must to stop this psychopath.
This wont be the last time he would do something and you know it. Stalkers don't stop. The more they get agitated, the more dangerous it is. The fact that he even got into her space, meant this could have been worst if she's alone or when he have weapon on his side. I hope that she have people around her and keep her locations private as much as she could able to. And I hope she would try to get bodyguards in the future. Staff and police are not doing anything so at very best is to find a way to protect yourself. It's just sad that this happened to her. I used to have a stalker and it isn't fun....... I hope she manages to be safe until she gets home.
Japan has a culture where the person who was attacked feels like they have to apologize, even for just screaming for help. This is shown in lots of Japanese media so it's common knowledge, it's disgusting. Even if she wasn't a foreigner the repercussions for attacking her like that are extremely light. Guy should be in prison, and with the amount of evidence she's got there's no reason why he shouldn't be. It's not drastic in the slightest to say someone who's been stalking a 17 year old for 10 years and has been caught in public multiple times should be in prison. It should be the common sentiment wherever you are in the world, but here we are.
No one, least of all someone like Keeki, deserves to live their life in fear... and considering he started stalking her when she was streaming on NicoNico Douga when she was 16/17 and she has just celebrated her 29th birthday recently, she has been living with this for over 1/3 of her life... that full Twitter space today was tough to listen to. I sincerely hope this POS gets what is coming to him, but given the way Comiket staff let him 'slip away' and the police saying they can't do shit because she does not live in Japan and has to go through the Austrian Embassy for help... ugh, what a shitshow... That's crazy. It blows my mind how someone can live with such an obsession for so long. He hadn't matured. He hadn't explored other life options. He really just fixated and waited for over a decade. Disgusting, absolutely. Astonishing? Unfortunately not. As someone that loves manga, it's unfortunate how so many don't really understand how true to life it is. You see it time and time again, a woman gets harassed/assaulted and the fault lies with her (the victim) far more than the actual criminal. It almost feels like a trope, but it's sadly very reflective of the culture in Japan and how they deal with this stuff. There's not much solace for Keekihime nor fans for having this issue actually be resolved and worse still is the idea that this guy gets away and emboldens other nefarious elements in the community. I've found myself unfortunately having to accept the fact that the space I love is also occupied by lots of really despicable sorts and yea, that really does take the wind outta your sail.

Having followed Keeki for a long time, I feel she already pushes herself a lot for her fans, sometimes to a fault. That she wanted to finish the photo-op instead of going somewhere private to decompress + give a statement to police is a little wild to me, but I guess by that point all the remaining fans would've made damn sure no one else got close again. Still, really upsetting that this happened. It sounds absurd to suggest it, but given her quasi celebrity status and her want of doing fan events like this, I sincerely hope personal security is being considered for the future at a *minimum*. Much as I'm confident the community would be extra protective of her (and others) after this, I'd rather professionals be there so the good fans don't also put themselves at risk.

Comiket just put their foot into one of the worst PR bear traps they could. A cosplayer with one of the most recognizable voices in vtubing is assaulted at your convention and not only did staff fail to hold the guy, they weren't worried about the girl in front of them hyperventilating, they were worried about the convention. And the police telling a woman who was assaulted that "Sorry, you don't live here, so has has to do more than grab you for us to do anything." What the hell. This will blow up in all offending parties faces. Especially since Keeki's famous boss of a famous vtubing brand had to learn that one of his talents got assaulted. Granted it wasn't on "company time" and so he may not be able to do anything but say "We won't be doing anymore Comiket conventions until we know that our talents are safe." But that may cause Comiket to get their act together. Because if her stalker guy decides next time to do more than grab her and Keeki gets seriously hurt or even killed on their watch, there will be blood. Oh and stalker guy? You didn't just poke the bear, you kicked it. Your face is out there, buddy and some vtubing fans are crazy. They don't like it when their Oshi talk to guys and you, a guy, not only toucher her, but grabbed her? Bad move, man. Really bad move. On a nicer note, digging the new False glowup.
Yeah but--as much as I like them-- Japanese people are generally non-confrontational people as part of their excessive politeness. No matter the message, nothing changes because the law doesn't change and it doesn't change because old people who believe that their ways are perfect continue to stay at the top, and they don't listen until their money or reputation is at risk.
This is why whenever I see those comments talking about how "weird" vtubing is, I always tell them that it's the best way to protect women who want to be in the public eye, but not have to pay $$$ for security to prevent people from being insane towards them.

The fact this disgusting being has been stalking her since she was a minor makes me even more mad istg Japan is so useless when people commit serious crimes but they pull their guns at the stupidest shit...
I'm pretty pissed myself since we had to deal with my little sister's stalker ourselves way back when she's still in highschool. What really angers me is that her issue wasn't solved like ours, nor did she get to kick his teeth in like me and my brother did for our sister's.
The situation sounds like the Comiket staff just separate them and then the guy slipped away (I wouldn't be surprised if Comiket didn't have police presence or any security). When they finally realized how bad it was, someone did call the police (despite initially reluctant) and the responding officer actually looked for Keekihime all over the venue to try to understand the situation. The officer's suggestion of going to the embassy may actually be the most effective way of forcing the police into action. If the Austrian embassy issued concern or compliant to the MOFA, the whole situation elevated into an international incident and potential embarrassment for the MPD and the brass might finally decide to take action to save face. I am not sure if the embassy staff would go so far though..

She's pretty well connected with other cosplayers, artists, etc. that visit Comiket right? Is there any hope of pressuring the event together with more of those? Like, if a bunch of artists and cosplayers come out publically and say "Comiket is clearly lacking security. I no longer feel safe there, so will not attend again unless the organization shows that they take security seriously, and is willing to prioritize the safety of its guests". That's not going to fix the police issue, but it could be a first step maybe?

Thanks for covering this False. I feel like this girl will need more than one bodyguard because of this incident. Maybe 10 or 12. But that might be too expensive for her. Though I feel like she needs it because the police doesn't want to protect her.
It's 3 a.m. and I'm so effin angry right now, I can't fall asleep. The Con basically said "Um, could you please not make a scene just because you were harassed and assaulted? What's the big deal?" Absolutely pathetic, but this is very common in Japan. Harassment is not seen as a serious crime. Even worse, if you're a foreigner and the victim of a crime or you help someone who's getting assaulted, there's a good chance the police will arrest and deport YOU instantly rather than arrest the criminal. You can find many cases where that happened. Japan is only safe for Japanese. Just because anime is cool doesn't mean Japan isn't a shitty country when it comes to other issues. People often overlook that. I swear, if I get the chance ...
Thankfully though, this dudes face has been revealed and now everyone knows who he is and what he did. This kind of behavior is the worst of the worst, I pray for keekihime to recover from this
This kind of behavior would have seen the guy either arrested on the spot or be-at down then arrested literally anywhere else. It's appaling how little the police, staff or just most people there in general do to actually catch him, but it's good that a photo of him is taken, at least, since now there's plenty of evidence to incriminate his vile behavior and force either the police or the government to act.
Hopefully the stalker will be put behind bars, even if for his own safety. Her fans are one of the most loyal ones in Vtubing, and I doubt she'd like to see their wings stained in red.
He will not. Japanese police is absurdly useless, especially with foreigners. Perharps her best bet would be to try and get a restraining order. Maybe Cover could help with that.
Oh no am actually really worried that this guy is going to end up in a bag because it’s not just her fans who love her she pretty popular throughout the internet and even in other peoples fandom. There no way more intense fans might try to find this guy and teach him a lesson he will never forget.

That's how oppressive the "keep the peace" mentality is in Japan. They rather not be an inconvenience to other ppl than take crimes seriously. I saw someone talk about how Tokyo Lens (foreign UA-camr in Japan) got hit by a truck and the police berated him even when the truck driver admits it wa their fault as he was wheeled into an ambulance and the paramedics had to tell the officer to get out of the ambulance when they were called.
This is the dark side of Japanese law enforcement that some of you may have heard about. Japan is indeed a very safe country, but they accomplish their superlative statistics through two extremes: 1) Extreme prejudice of guilt against accused parties, to the point of forming a long history of forced false confessions and convictions. 2) Everything else seen as too minor (especially concerning foreigners) gets swept under the rug so that they don't reflect in the crime statistics.
Wait, so it sounds like the staff assisted the attacker by trying to convince the victim not call the cops, and letting him get away? Is that really what happened?
I don’t have Twitter so I can’t reply to her directly, but if there is any chance she or others that have gone through similar experiences are reading this; I’m so glad you are ok. You should never have to go through something like that, and deserve all the love and support from people who ACTUALLY care about you as a person, not some tool or object to be used. Those people don’t know you, and if they knew of how much of a fighter and champion you are, they’d crap themselves out of fear and BEG on their knees. You are loved by so many that are willing to fight tooth and nail to see you safe and sound, and don’t forget that ❤ Also can I punch the convention organizers in the face for how crappy they treated this situation, please and thank you 😀 Edit: misspelled forget lmao
She talked about hiring security…I wonder if she can go through her current agency to get it? Or maybe since it’s not related to that agency’s activities that’s not an option…
The police everywhere in the world do nothing for stalkers until it's too late. But in this situation with witnesses and evidence can't he at least get assault charges? At least everyone knows his face now. Maybe we can get some vigilante justice.
The police can't easily go after stalkers directly if at all beyond making a paper trail for later to help in getting a restraining order or making them the first and most likely suspect for something else unless the stalker actually dose something else that allows the police to arrest said stalker. This guy did something else and he walks free because japan while many other country's police would use the assault to shove him into a holing cell to stand trial if he doesn't turn up dead.
By the way, this guy has made a huge mistake in coming back after ten years, because he is now in the crosshair of a very large, very dedicated and VERY angry three letter fandom, that didn't know about him until now and I know for a fact, that the feathery gears are turning and he’s not going to like what’s coming.
I feel bad for keekihime. I hope she has a hopeful recovery. Asides that, DAMN THE JAPANESE POLICE IS USELESS AS SHIT. I’m sorry, that was mean of me. But I don’t care. But, I think that guy is just a shit human being, and I’m glad that there were people that managed to stop the situation. I hope keekihime is alright now. :( Edit: Pardon my language in a few of the replies in some comments, but it genuinely makes me so pissed that the Japanese police and the staff didn’t do anything to protect keekihime. To be honest, this whole situation makes me feel sick and uncomfortable as well.
My little sister had to deal with a stalker when she was in highschool so this really hits close to home. Yeah, I'm actually furious because her issue wasn't solved like ours was and we live in a third world country.
This must be a real REAL trouble to deal with,i think imma stay away from idol industry just a tiny bit more with each passing day and just enjoy playing games in the way i love, thanks False for covering such a important topic, thumbs up from me and i hope you have a good day
My sister has worked in cosplay conventions many times over the years (management, marketing and even security). Whenever there's complaints about a con-goer harassing others (especially cosplayers), that person not only gets kicked out of the convention, they also get blacklisted from future conventions. And convention staff will exchange blacklists with each other in order to bar entry from their future events as well. How the hell was this guy still allowed to not only walk away freely but that the victim was the one told not to come back to the convention in the future for _her_ safety??
One of the worst kept secrets of the industry coming home to roost at 45:45, and it's an afterthought attached to a completely unrelated and far more serious story? Maybe it should have been a separate short?
In a perfect world, a group of mythological girls would be preparing to send someone soul to the void 10x over, but unfortunately we live in one where a fucking stalker gets away terrorizing an innocent giro for almost 10 years...
Okay sure. Keekihime's thinking of her fans who've come a long way to greet her and take photos of her cosplay. The difference here is your own safety comes first. There's been events in the west where some individuals take things too far and jeopardize the safety of the guest performer and the crowd. What if in the odd chance the person had a concealed weapon? Safety always comes first! Your fans regardless if they're disappointed will understand the need to cancel the event if it means it can be rescheduled in some form. No one was hurt, but again Keekihime had a panic attack when that all happened. No one should have experience that, nor should they experience it multiple times!
So apparently the stalker's face got released. Dude has just become Public Enemy #1 to the entire Vtuber and cosplay fandoms.
We'll see how long this man stays alive now that he can't really hide his image anymore.
The thing that concerns me the most about the incident Keekihime suffered today is that the stalker in question is still out there.
Now that he’s been put on blast on the internet he might grow even more delusional and unhinged. A cornered rat is often more dangerous.

Yeah I have a feeling some insane fans are going to dish out some street level justice here
It's absolutely disgusting that they won't try and persecute him in any way; at the very least put him on the offender registry because now there's PLENTY of evidence to prove him guilty
It's vile; she (and anyone else in similar situations) is just stuck with the option to never do events again or the option of being paranoid about him showing up to any events she does; and the only hope she has is the defense of him being banned from cons and stuff, or fans recognizing and calling him out
The only upside to this it seems, is that his face is out in the public, so even if the justice system refuses to serve justice, at the very least there's the "protection" of public knowledge
There is a third option which is to hire personal security. Dunno how difficult that may be to find in Japan.
Welcome to Japan. Unless ur older they don't care.
Comiket could just hire security for the cosplay plaza.

Unfortunately she has PTSD from such events, she will probably try to focus on her Vtubing job with those up coming events. I wont be surprised if she doom post for a while, hopefully her friends can give her a safe space to be there for her.

Japan like many highly populated countries have a big problem with the bystander effect, people less likely to get involve because there's so many people that surely someone else would help.
While stalking and sexual assaults happens everywhere it seem more prevalent in idol culture rich countries like Japan. Knowing the perp was able to get away makes this situation even scarier. Puts into question how proactive fans in the community as well as law enforcement are in preventing future attacks such as this from happening. Its shameful how JP law enforcement handled Kikihime's situation.

The fact that this stalker has been after her for over a decade (a few people out there compiled some similar stalker tweets shes been talking about for years now) and still NOTHING was ever done is disgusting and astonishing.
I've found myself unfortunately having to accept the fact that the space I love is also occupied by lots of really despicable sorts and yea, that really does take the wind outta your sail.
damn.... hope her other job could get her some help in legal action. What a terrible situation
… I think her other job should show Komiket and the Japanese police the meaning of the word “inconvenience”. A few official inquests and complaints about one of their employees could make things very difficult for both.

Honestly, she should hire security if shes in Japan.
Stalkers are not normal humans (they are sick in the head) and I will always remembered what happened to Christina Grimmie so its best to have security just in case.
I heard about Grimmie from SunnyV2. Girl was done dirty.
Rest in peace to her.
Absolutely this. Through the whole video all I could think about was Christina. It's so scary!
"It'd been so long, I thought it'd be okay" -- Painfully relatable, as someone who also had long term stalkers. It was really hard hearing about this. I hope she'll be alright.
he is stalking her for the last 12 years, let that sink in.. she was 17 when this started...
Someone is harassed, and the staff are more concerned about the possibility of the police ruining the event than the well-being of the victim...
I had heard that Japan doesn't take harassment very seriously, but goddamn!!!
Thier entire social structure exists to support the rich and powerful.
Damn, I heard about the news earlier, but didn't realise that the cosplayer in question is her of all people. This is definitely going to upset a lot of people!
She is such a pro, and sometimes, that means she puts herself last... which isn't good, because her fans would get worried about her, as it is clear to us that she is forcing herself.
How INCOMPETENT is this staff?? He’s been stalking her since she was 16!!!! THATS A LITERAL CHILD LIKER. What the actual hell??? Someone HAS to take action.
The staff and police are completely inept and should be ashamed for both letting something like this happen as well as refusing to do anything to bring that man to justice. Hopefully they will get lambasted online since humiliation is the only thing that ever seems to get a response from them.
For the police there is no objection , but the staff cannot keep the person "detained" because they could get in serious trouble , insinuating he did anything wrong could be seen as slander which is a serious crime , so i dont blame them really , japanese law is trash

Exactly! Their "justice" system makes the US justice system look like an angel of hope.
The Japanese authorities literally only care to LOOK like there's order. They'll grab a guy next to a crime, call him the criminal, sentence him and call it "another great open and shut case".
...and that's towards their own citizens!
If you're a foreigner and there's an incident, you're either the aggregator, or if you're the victim then you obviously caused the incident to get assaulted.
tbf they do the same to native japanese women, even after multiple reports and tons of evidence, they don't do much to these type of men
It's stalker victims in general. You have to be maimed to be taken seriously over there.
"she needs to take more precautions with her new level of fame"
No, I don't think that's the case. This psychopath is obsessed with the teenager who was nice to him a decade ago, her current job isn't really relevant in this situation. A literal One Guy problem. He would have done this even if she was still just a cosplayer only
Difference is now her new job has put a magnitude more eyes on a situation that's been going on for many, many years now
Comiket just put their foot into one of the worst PR bear traps they could.
A cosplayer with one of the most recognizable voices in vtubing is assaulted at your convention and not only did staff fail to hold the guy, they weren't worried about the girl in front of them hyperventilating, they were worried about the convention.
And the police telling a woman who was assaulted that "Sorry, you don't live here, so has has to do more than grab you for us to do anything."
What the hell.

Didn't oshi no ko tell us the dangers of obsessive stalkers?
Yeah but--as much as I like them-- Japanese people are generally non-confrontational people as part of their excessive politeness.
No matter the message, nothing changes because the law doesn't change and it doesn't change because old people who believe that their ways are perfect continue to stay at the top, and they don't listen until their money or reputation is at risk.
This is why whenever I see those comments talking about how "weird" vtubing is, I always tell them that it's the best way to protect women who want to be in the public eye, but not have to pay $$$ for security to prevent people from being insane towards them.

This is the dark side of Japanese law enforcement that some of you may have heard about. Japan is indeed a very safe country, but they accomplish their superlative statistics through two extremes:
1) Extreme prejudice of guilt against accused parties, to the point of forming a long history of forced false confessions and convictions.
2) Everything else seen as too minor (especially concerning foreigners) gets swept under the rug so that they don't reflect in the crime statistics.

It's a shame that the police don't support foreigners (it's not the first time I've heard this from people living there)
They barely support local women when it comes to stuff like this, let alone foreigners.
Although the police won't arrest the guy, someone else works in the station have his ID and address, would be ashamed if this got leaked online.

In a perfect world, a group of mythological girls would be preparing to send someone soul to the void 10x over, but unfortunately we live in one where a fucking stalker gets away terrorizing an innocent giro for almost 10 years...
Okay sure. Keekihime's thinking of her fans who've come a long way to greet her and take photos of her cosplay.
The difference here is your own safety comes first. There's been events in the west where some individuals take things too far and
jeopardize the safety of the guest performer and the crowd. What if in the odd chance the person had a concealed weapon?
Safety always comes first! Your fans regardless if they're disappointed will understand the need to cancel the event if it means
it can be rescheduled in some form. No one was hurt, but again Keekihime had a panic attack when that all happened.
No one should have experience that, nor should they experience it multiple times!
