Amazing! Thank you for posting this because I actually live in Homeland! 😂 It’s a very small interesting rural area. Lots of history. If it weren’t for the cars & semi’s trucking through it would be deafening quiet. When I first moved here I was washing dishes, looked out of the kitchen window and saw the neighbors walking their pigs on leashes. Had to do a triple take lol The post office is cute, efficient and an added plus, no waits. Their delivery is FAST!
The Orange Blossom Honey locally grown is delicious (And pay by honor system)
Also an event to maybe check out would be The Alafia River Rendezvous which happens here in Homeland up on the hill in late January (largest pre-1840s encampment).
Really enjoy these videos. It’s very calming to see these remote locations. These are my favorite kind of videos. Thanks for all you do!
Another great back roads video😎Loved the pioneer town, especially the Cabin😁Simpler times💜
Thank you junebug
I drove Flatbed 18 wheeler out of Tampa Fl back in the 90's .I ran a 48,500 pound load of sheetrock from Port Tampa to a warehouse in that little town of Homeland ..A Cool little town
I love these videos of time forgotten. It's sad to me that they are in such disrepair. But I am thankful that you and others find them and document them. Thank you my friend, and please be safe out there! God bless ❤️ 🙏 ❤️
Loved the Heritage Center and the boardwalk stroll, obviously needing some TLC. Hope the black and white cat had a caregiver there at the park.
I just discovered your channel and as a budding photographer you have given me so many ideas to travel within Florida and explore.
we like your videos and how you present your videos of older towns across fla .... we are not too interested in movie locations but can see why some fans like those ... keep up the good work
Florida Roadside Attractions & Abandoned Places are enjoyable, and I have only watched about 4.
Thank you for the tour!
Some good old Florida History there TJ. Thanks for bringing us along
Thanks Mike!
I enjoy your roadside attractions series. I get to go to places that I otherwise would not see. I really enjoy Chris the girl too. Keep up the good work!
Jay, I can’t believe you missed the 38-star flag hanging in the old schoolroom. Nice tour of out-of-the-way places. That would help date that classroom.
You play a Great Tour Guide through the unknown areas, keep it up and hope to see Cris The Girl soon join you!
I really like these Roadside - Abandoned places videos. Thanks and keep it up.
As an avid explorer myself, I’m loving your Road Side videos!
You’re doing an amazing job.
Let me know if you ever wanna visit a cemetery in the middle of no where called Bull Creek Cemetery
Just discovered your channel. Very well done. I like the laid back vibe and respect for history. God bless and safe travels.
Thank you Steve! Glad to hear your enjoying the channel.

Very cool roadside attractions. I love old houses.
So many cool things to see in this sweet little town. We love how much reverence you always pay at the small town cemeteries. Also, DJ Kitty for real!! It was too cute watching him follow you on camera!
I think old Florida is cool to see…. Thanks Jay
Thanks Carl
Yes! old abandoned Florida and cemetery content is my favorite! My great grandfather was a "Raulerson" and was born in Polk county. I didn't know about this park 👍 very cool!
Keep these going, Jay. I hope that as more people become aware of our home State's history, things will get better in the preservation department. The boardwalk is heartbreaking!!!!! When it's wet season, a couple of years ago it was amazing!!! Hopefully Polk County will fix it soon!!!
So many roadside attractions in Florida! Thanks for showing.
I am born and raised in Arizona, As a kid in school, we went to that town you were talking about, pioneer village or whatever they call it here for field trips.
I like your 'abandoned places' videos as much as the fun ones. Makes me feel humbled.
Thank you Robert
@@TampaJay call me 'st.pete Bob'. 😁
Hi Tampa Jay , my family and I are really enjoying the Florida Roadside series. Good work. Thanks

Very cool. Beautiful backroads
We love to watch all of your videos. These are definitely our favorite. ❤️
Thanks you two! I appreciate ya watching all my endeavors. Much ahead
Thar boardwalk is so sad --I hope someone fixes it up and improves the area !!!
I think that is so neat, someone from the mid west taking interest in the old Florida! I was partially raised in Fla. until my folks decided to move back to N.C. A lot of good memories living in Flagler Co.
I enjoy small town exploring. & Dj kitty on the front porch lol stay safe
Jay, I really enjoy the content you produce it allows us to see places we might otherwise never see so Thanks for what you do.
Love your old Florida videos!

I stumbled on to this and it’s comfy. Keep em coming!
Beautiful
Off the beaten path, cool video. Old cemeteries, souls resting in peace.
Don't bring any ghosts back home!
Thank you!

At the place this yr..in jan 2023 before the place was torn down..
Loved this video!
Your old attraction videos and small town videos are great! Keep it going! Your baseball videos are fun too, especially with Adam!
I've noticed lately that you're adding more music over parts, like in your intro to this one. I like that! It inspires me to keep attempting to do that with mine...It can be frustrating trying so hard to get the right music to invoke the right emotion (while also avoiding copyright claims)...but then seeing videos that don't use music at all & thinking, "Well they're getting views anyway...Maybe I shouldn't bother either?" But the music adds to the experience.
Also (& this one is really random) love that you mentioned Mel Tillis. Not long before he passed, he performed for awhile at the theatre I was working at. Brings back some funny memories (...Most of which are...um...probably not PG rated enough to add to this comment)!
I’ve always put music in these types of videos but I’ve been putting them out more lately . I really appreciate you thank you so much it means so much to me
Aw yeah, love these
Amazing stuff WOW great job awesome content thanks for your time to do this video big fan of your channel
Thanks man!
Very cool
Dang, a few miles down the road from my homestead! I had no idea about the boardwalk and seeing the amount of leaves even the locals seem not to know it was there. I'll have to make a day trip down there as it's so close to my place!
I was born in poke county close to where this is. Every year thay have a rendezvous a reenactmentof life before 1842 right there in that town you should check it out. Thank you for takeing me "home" again
Great videos thanks for taking this subtrip to all these florida attractions.. But that boardwalk you're on, they sure have let that go bad. The city ought to be ashamed themselves... Other than that, great videos. Keep up the good work... Thanks for showers around florida..
The old towns are very interesting, love old architecture and always fascinated that these old , simplistic buildings have lasted so long in this Florida environment. They really knew how to build things to last. Definitely have my vote to keep exploring the old towns, :)
Thank you Elyse!
Definitely Texas Chainsaw vibes 🪚
Great video. Really interesting, thanks. From Plymouth, Devon, England. Cute cat. I love the Sears house. Hopefully I can find more in your videos.
Thanks so much!
hi mate love these type of videos seeing places i will never see
Thanks Mike!
I enjoyed watching thanks
Glad you enjoyed it thank you
This old town is cool
Someone is visiting and putting flowers.
at 8:00 that looks like a cantilever barn. these became popular especially in the Appalachian mountains because you can cut taxes by saving floor space. often people would convert old traditional barns to this for that reason. taxes were based on the sq footage inside the barn so they would raise it up and cover less floor space.
pretty interesting, keep it up, I enjoy your videos.
Thanks, will do!
love your content, your brave
Yes this is the second time I've watched the video and really enjoy it I came to Florida in January of 1972 and I don't like the way things are going is too many people here it's too crowded I can't remember when's the last time I saw an orange growl when I first came there all over the place I'm 73 now and I need to get app and travel right here in Florida is planning to say I'm originally from Connecticut and I could sit upload on my home and I want to be buried here keep app the good work
Cool
Sweet love the video
Thanks Gary!
Wow a 38 star flag. I love old US flags. Great video as always.
Thank you Robb
Thanks, Jay, nice video, I'd like to see more of them. Did you happen to notice the 38 States of American flag on display in the schoolhouse. Also, could that boardwalk and cemetary, been affected by Hurricane Ian? With all the trees down on the boardwalk, and the missing headstones.
A pussy cat pause, a pussy cat pause, everybody's happy with a pussy cat pause! DJ Kitty feels ur positive vibes & Bella needs a friend. It's always amazing the determination, courage, & the many obstacles the early settlers had 2 overcome so interesting. Especially with the Florida wildlife. As always Stay Away From The Water & thx 4 taking us all along on your adventure
Love it 😂
You do a asome job
Thank you Rick
If you go down highway 640 half a mile there will be a graveyard right side the road that's where the church used to be one of the general from the Civil War in.
Positive comment here.
Another great video Jay but I got one question How long did it take you to get out of the woods I would have been lost for hours 😆😆😆
Thank you! That boardwalk was pretty long it was over a half hour back there
Hello from Arcadia
Cool boardwalk, too bad it's in disrepair
Did you ever find out what the name of the cemeteries work?
How about those TB Rays 99 win season!
And I'm back for more greatness❤❤❤😊😊😊😊.
You are awesome! Thank you.
I was following along on Google Maps, was the boardwalk Mosaic Peace River Park?
Yes that’s it
It was closed when we were there because of hurricane 🌀 damage about 5 years ago.
Tampa Jay I like the roadside videos and nature trails quite a lot. I may incorporate some old roadside attractions stuff from time to time in my videos. I finally got my channel up now. I have a few videos up now. Two are nature trails. When you get a chance, check 'em out. I will appreciate it a lot.
giant banyan tree
I love your videos Jay but every time you mispronounce museum I cringe….lol
I grew up in the town just before Homeland. Fort Meade. I had family that lived in Homeland. On the other side of that intersection the a bigger cemetery called the Homeland Cemetery. My grandparents, Aunts and Uncles are buried out there. Loving these roadside videos.
I love these videos. Being a Central FL resident it gives me ideas of places to go. I've already mapped out where that honey stand is to visit next time I go to Bartow. Keep up the great work.
Love the back road videos!!!! Keep them coming. ❤️
I met a guy at I.U. from spiceland, he ran away from me when I told him I was from the calumet region.
I really love your Florida Roadside Attractions and Abandoned Places series. I was a little concerned about you wandering out so far on that boardwalk, but when I was your age I was adventurous like that also and would have done the same thing wanting to know where it led to. Keep making videos like this because it is important not to forget the history of these places.
Be careful out there Jay! That boardwalk through the swamp looks like where that lady had a Florida Panther run past her! Quiet and peaceful but also looks like where they dump the bodies!
This was an awesome video! thank you for doing what you do!!! I love the old Florida series so much.
Thanks for the memories Jay. Haven't been down that way in 25 years or so. Like someone mentioned I always remember calling it Home-Lin. Great bass fishing in that area. Even remember a lake being called "Million Dollar Lake" (or something like that) because one of the phosphate mines got too close to the peace river and the river filled up the hole. They fined the mine a million dollars which is how it got its name.
Hello from Gatlinburg TN guys!! Great job as always 🏞️🌄🐻

We live next door to Martin’s Grocery in Homeland, and I think we met you when you were recording! Should have told me, I would have let you into the building lol
I like how you randomly found these interesting things and even made a new kitty friend! I never would have thought that huge walkway would be out there too bad the hurricane messed it up some. That was a pretty Church!
All your material is good.
I love all your videos. I started watching yours when you and Adam the Woo went to Ray's games. And have been watching them ever since. In fact, you guys have made me a Ray's fan. I'm from Colorado and not a Rockies fan. So can't wait to see Ray's play Rockies here in Denver. Thanks again for your videos!
Jay, the back roads/ old Florida are a nice change of pace from theme parks/ haunts. They really show your versatility.
I grew up in this town. Loved across the street from the big building by the post office. That use to be a meat market. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Not from Florida but lived here since 1990 from TN, I love the small towns and the history of Florida, so much to see, thank you!
Aw so sad that they are not conserving that boardwalk. It’s so beautiful! 😊
lol now You've recorded this wonder if the big builders like the ones in the Villages FL in a few years run down there and over run that area like they've done to what was once rural Wildwood / Colemen / Sumter County FL and portion of south Marion and Nw Lake County's FL.. the Villagers over run. Over whelm and over load and over crowded this area of FL, twenty five years ago I never thought I'd see Traffic jams and tie ups like you'd see in places like south Florida or Orlando or Tampa FL
