  • In this episode I'm showing you how I apply my self made and home cooked oil varnish. This is the first coat after the ground is finished and prepared. Like and share!
    -------------------
Being one of Norway's most prominent and acknowledged violinmakers, Jacob von der Lippe has been building instruments for musicians at home and abroad since 1998. Jacob's instruments are coming out of the tradition of the Italian masters. He trained at the "Istituto Professionale Internazionale per l'Artigianato Liutario e del Legno 'A. Stradivari' " in Cremona, Italy.
Jacob von der Lippe's instruments have a sound focusing upon warmth, projection and richness in overtones. As the first Norwegian ever, Jacob was accepted as a member of the Entente Internationale des Luthiers et Archetiers.

What is it you are using to spread the varnish on the surface?
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and most of all your splendid sense of humour.

just asking: what about the part under finger board? and isn't that suppose to put on finger board after varnishing?

There's actually no need to varnish under the fingerboard on a violin. But many violin makers remove it before varnishing.

Super flot! Din lak ser lækker ud at arbejde med, hvordan laver du den?
Og hvad er din grundering? Den er ret pæn, kunne godt tænke mig at prøve noget lignende :-)

Tusen takk!
