i go back and forth on ETH. But even when I'm FOR him staying, It's not a hill I'm gonna die on, if they get someone new, then I'm OK with that too
But I will say this, the ONLY reasons people spout for keeping the guy is because we change managers too much. That's literally the only defense. I never hear anyone defending his tactis, or his management style or his transfers. Its 100% just "we can't just keep changing managers", if that's really the only reason to keep him then we are doomed.
I have been saying this! We have no reason to keep the man. I keep asking the fans who want him in to give me only one reason why we should keep him and all they say is that we can’t keep sacking managers. Total BS! Abramovic at Chelsea then used to sack managers sometimes 2 times in a season but always won a trophy every single year till he left in 2021 after winning the UCL. If we keep ETH, we will only be a joke of a club. Even poch is gone after taking Chelsea to the Europa league. These are the standards!
I ain't dying on that hill either but the argument is more like "we can't keep changing managers and let's give him a mulligan this year as there is no point judging tactics with 46 different backlines". It's like screaming at the violinists for not having a plan to save the titanic.

@@maxwellgonzalez4763 Because elite managers don't grow on trees and the next manager is going to be importantly the first manager of the new regime. Make sure he's at least better than ETH'S record of 2 cups and 3 finals in 2 years or delay the decision until you find one. The manager market is especially thin now with everyone searching for one. This is real life and not FIFA to change the manager for the whims of every lunatic fan standard.
One reason I wouldn't be mad if Ten Hag did get the sack is that it starts the Ineos accountability clock now. Keeping Erik just gives them the excuse of him 'belonging to the old regime' & equally lessens the scruinity of their transfer spending. Same thing happens in every corporate environment, blame it on the old regime whilst using it as time to get yourself up to speed. I'd prefer if they had the balls to make the call now & own it, be it the good or bad. Erik can't complain if he is sacked. That's the nature of the game. He's gives us very few reasons to keep him bar 'we can't keep sacking managers' etc none of which are about his positive attributes.
There's no point bringing in a director of football, technical director, CEO etc if they don't appoint someone who they believe can deliver their vision. I can't think of any reason why they would think that person should be ten hag.

This is a ridiculous argument, so because Erik Ten Hag was appointed by the old regime, INEOS, who have basically overhauled all top positions at the football club to help improve the support structure for the manager can't be held accountable if he fails because he wasn't their appointment.
Having fired 5 permanent managers post-Fergie (some of them highly decorated) isn't it clear that something is broken beyond the managerial position at this football club. That's why the purge started where it started.
I for one won't give INEOS a pass whether or not they keep Ten Hag because they're here to fix the issues that have plagued this football club since Sir Alex left. Ten Hag is the least of them.

It always end with a 'well he wasn't our guy anyway, we're yet to truly get a stronghold' etc. Hence why I think the sooner Ineos make the big calls the better. It's gonna happen either way, rather it be now than few months later in October-December. I just hope if they keep Ten Hag he has very little say in the signings which must be part of a wider vision that any other manager can pick up. I have been saying for three months now, DeZerbi, Potter or Southgate, there are NO other options, the reason is ALL THREE operate without having input into transfers. I'd say the only way this could be shut down now would be to publicly back Ten Hag before the final or these players will have absolutely no reason to play for him, or they'll all of a sudden be PRIME again to impress yet ANOTHER new manager and have another chance to let us down

I think the fa cup result has an impact on the price to get rid. There will be contract clauses if sacked in the champs league,europa or conference or most likely in this case totally shitting the bed.

3 cup finals in two seasons, one trophy, getting champions league for one season isn't much reason to keep him right? Yes his made mistakes whether it be tactically, subs or man management, but give the project some time. Plastic fans will call for his head, the guy needs a complete clear out and two squads of his own. Think about the current teams of Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City most are signings of the so called successful managers/academy, in order to play the managers style the manager needs his own two squads to rotate, that's 22 players. Only recently we can see a playing style for Arsenal and Artetas been there for 5+ seasons. ETH didnt have a consistent back 4, that makes a huge difference, he had numerous injuries plus immature players like Sancho, Rashford, Greenwood and Antony to deal of which 3 were not his signing and I reckon most of the signings were not even his first choice. Im done hearing ETH out, he is definitely the man to take us forward, given time and patience. Let it take another two seasons to compete. Regardless of who replaces him, it's gonna take them another 4 seasons anyway, why add to the burden of the fans. Let him cook and judge accordingly from next season when he has his first team.
