You have to complete the game again, *you have to complete the carrot minigame again* UPDATE 3 YEARS LATER: I wasn't expecting this to blow up with 2K likes in 3 years and 150 comments, that is very nice, i was able to beat the remake on 3DS and let me say, the carrot minigame wasn't that hard i don't know if it was nerfed or i just got better, the Train was fucking horrible i don't want to see that shit in my life again, well, Happy 2022 to everyone!
I legitimately barged into my neighbor’s house the morning before going on summer vacation 2010 and had him beat the carrot minigame for me because I had been stuck on it for days. I also had my aunt teach me how to buttonmash for the final battle. Good times.

With the Shroobs making an appearance here, too, we might get it. I just hope there's a mode for Daisy so we can justify Baby Daisy's presence in spinoffs. I do have an idea for such an optional mode (and an optional dungeon with optional super boss), but it's pretty much guaranteed to fall on deaf ears.
Yoko Shimomura is an absolute masterpiece of a compositor. I enjoyed so much of her work since all these years, she created some of the best OST in the history of video games. Thank you so much.
To those wondering, the original actually had a choir in the back of the track (most notable in the beginning). Thanks to the 3DS, the tune carries more atmosphere than on the DS hardware, but at the cost of the *on point* synths that are missing from parts of the original. I guess whoever prefers which version comes down to whether you prefer chip tune or nuance.

I love how one thing that every Final Boss Theme in the Mario And Luigi series has in common is the utter desperation. The hopeful and long-shotted, but absolutely necessary fight for victory. The brothers *cannot* lose. If they do, it's all over. So to take that and apply it to Bowser just flips the franchise upside down. For the very first time in the series, Bowser has to fight a bigger baddie for the sake of everything he's worked for. If *he* loses, it's all over. So he cannot lose. And in that way, Bowser and the Mario Brothers can relate to each other. It's sad that the games didn't continue, because maybe we would've gotten to see that relation flourish into a fight with all three of them against a villain among villains. Where Mario, Luigi, and Bowser put their differences aside not just for Peach, but for their world. For their universe. For their existence. In The Final, it would all come down to them. Unlikely but unbeatable allies. And I feel like a combination of every last Final Boss Theme factored in through leitmotifs against some incredibly powerful villain with Inside Story mechanics for Bowser and every Bros. mechanic throughout the series for Mario and Luigi would make it all the more epic. Maybe even making a return to the Dream World and bringing in every supporting character known to the games, as well. Anyone and everyone rooting for, at least for one day, *three* heroes. God, that would be so awesome. We need to get AlphaDream's developers back from the dead, even if it's just for one more final adventure.
I feel ya on that, to me the original has more nostalgia to it, I would play this game almost everyday because I was stuck on the carrot mini game and the boss fight with the grapes XD Though this one does sound almost better to me but Yeha the original does hit different
Mr Topper Bruh I got stuck on the carrot game so long ago and then not too long ago I played the game again and got past the mini game so fast I was shocked and I finally beat the game and hearing this track was so worth it cause man the music was always on point

I played this on repeat in December of Pandemic Legacy: Season 1. For the five people who read this comment and know what I'm talking about, I hope this reminds you of the epic gravity of that final hour.
This game is so important to me personally. It was my first rpg, and one I held through to the end. When the remake came out I was so excited to replay it. So many good memories of this game. And this theme is arguably the best.
Remade by using a more modern take, and combined with a chorus. This is an excellent recreation of a final battle theme I really loved as a kid playing the original
When I first the teaser trailer for this remake, I freaked out because I used to play this like a whole lot when I was 5, I'm close to being 14 and I'm getting so much nostalgia from this, GOD BLESS NINTENDO FOR THE BEST REMAKE THEY EVER EXPERIENCED!!!!
I came back from gamestop cause I had to rebuy the game I lost my og copy when I saw the trailer that same day I started jumping from excitement by the way I bought the og ds version that same day they announced this one
I... still prefer the original, honestly. I like this one, don’t get me wrong, but it just feels... softer. The most important parts to me were the drums (0:06) and descending piano (or strings, now...?) behind the main one (0:22). It just doesn’t feel as sharp- the drums as aggressive- and the back piano as dissonant. I know jack-all about music jargon, but that dissonance conflicting with the main piano really made the original give it more of that foreboding, *finale* feeling. That’s my personal preference though, I feel like they could’ve kept those strings yet make it sound way better by doing something else- I just don’t know what
trust me I agree, while the original had a more techno and videogamey feel to the final, this one feels more antiquated and is filled with a lot more emotion, but I still prefer the sharp and almost fun original version as its a culmination of every hardship that the final battle resonates with. I adore this version, but I feel the limitations the original had, just empower it.
For me, the best part of the remix is at 1:17. The heavy piano notes are powerful, not to mention the violin (?) that follows afterwards. All of this makes the passage emotionally stronger than the original. But that's just my opinion.
Coming from a guy who’s never played Bowser’s Inside Story and has no nostalgia for it, the original ost sounds pretty superior to me so far. This remix in particular just doesn’t pack the same punch as the original in the final.

I actually think most of their HD restorations are better than the original, but their Gangplank Galleon one is actually a little weaker IMO. But I think that version is still closer to the original than this version of In The Final is to the original DS version. Plus, I think other songs in this game are better than their original DS counterparts (such as the Giant Boss theme).

I cant stop listening to this. My body wont let me. Theyve somehow evolved one of my favorite pieces of music into something even better and more fitting for a climactic finale to one of my favorite games. I absolutely cant wait for this remake and i cant wait to hear this song again so i can let the inner 9 year old in me cry tears of joy and triumph
What's crazy is that I rediscovered mario and Luigi after I used to play it when I was 9 or something. Now after rebuying a 3ds and playing through this game and now it, I actually am having more fun than ever playing a game in my life.
Can't believe AlphaDream is gone. My heart genuinely broke seeing as i played these games in the roughest times in my life having such good memories them.
This is one the best music Nintendo has ever produced. Thank you AlphaDream, for all the good times. I just wish my 3DS' Joystick wasn't glitched, so I could play it again.
This is easily my favorite final boss of all time, it's so epic. Obviously the music but not just all that but how specifically perfect for this game it is too. Like this fight perfectly complements the main mechanic of this game: both thematically with Dark Bowser & Fawful's situation of previous enemies inadvertently teaming up with one being eaten by the other mirroring Bowser & the Bros but also using it to incorporate both parties into the battle. I also haven't seen a ton of final bosses that have two major antagonists (and three villains). Also how both bosses are effectively phase 2s of their penultimate battles with the opposite party they're fighting now. It's all just so cool.

I never beat it because of the carrot minigame I tried so hard for months. I put the game down for a few days and I decided to try again but then I lost the cartrage. I was about 7 years of age.
It took me a long time to get to the final boss and then I couldn't mash the button fast enough to s u c c fawful in It took me another long time to finally s u c c fawful and kill him I replayed the game after finishing Superstar Saga on an emulator and since I have this one on my ds and I don't know how ds games that use touchscreen would work on an emulator The final boss was easy because I got to lvl 40 with everybody and learned the epic "double button mashing" (it's spamming x and y at the same time btw) I friggin love this game franchise and its music

This was 3 years ago. And I still have the game in my collection with the rest of the games AlphaDream has created. This was The Grand Final For the Mario Brothers and for the last game for AlphaDream. They created the best remastered game for all of us. And it was good one to end it all. My childhood is still living on from one of game that started me playing more Mario Games.
I'm actually one of the few but I actually prefer this version of In The Final over the original. The original is great but the Choir in the background adds to how epic this theme is. I even listened to the original after this but still prefer this one.
Even though I played the original when I was a kid and that theme gives me so much nostalgia, when I heard this one, it almost brought a tear to my eye it's absolutely beautiful I would say both are equal, just that the original piece has its iconic ds compression and this one just fits so much better in the remake than it would have been if they just would have ported over the original But I like this one more It's a shame I can't get this game :(

Played the original not too long ago to relive my childhood and it was a trip- Just hearing their rendition of one of the best songs in gaming alone makes me want to play the remaster someday- ✨
@DarkCoreX In the original GBA version, the heavy guitar is the main focus, with the organ taking more of a staccato background role. In the DX version, the guitar fades into the background, the organ's reverb makes it sound really muddy, and the new trumpet stabs sit way above everything else in the mix. It drops the original arrangement and just feels like a sinister ambience, instead of a hard rock tune that stands out against the rest of the soundtrack. (Obviously this is just my opinion, and I'm glad you like it! It just doesn't hit the same for me.)

DaniXP2004 the carrot isn’t even that hard once you know what to do, I had a lot of trouble when I was 8 but replaying it I beat it in 15 seconds.

I keep thinking this because of Bowser's inside story. If Bowser was willing to team up with Mario and Luigi, the three of them would be unstoppable.

This game is so important to me personally. It was my first rpg, and one I held through to the end. When the remake came out I was so excited to replay it. So many good memories of this game. And this theme is arguably the best.

Remade by using a more modern take, and combined with a chorus. This is an excellent recreation of a final battle theme I really loved as a kid playing the original
When I first the teaser trailer for this remake, I freaked out because I used to play this like a whole lot when I was 5, I'm close to being 14 and I'm getting so much nostalgia from this, GOD BLESS NINTENDO FOR THE BEST REMAKE THEY EVER EXPERIENCED!!!!
I came back from gamestop cause I had to rebuy the game I lost my og copy when I saw the trailer that same day I started jumping from excitement by the way I bought the og ds version that same day they announced this one

I... still prefer the original, honestly. I like this one, don’t get me wrong, but it just feels... softer.
The most important parts to me were the drums (0:06) and descending piano (or strings, now...?) behind the main one (0:22). It just doesn’t feel as sharp- the drums as aggressive- and the back piano as dissonant. I know jack-all about music jargon, but that dissonance conflicting with the main piano really made the original give it more of that foreboding, *finale* feeling.
That’s my personal preference though, I feel like they could’ve kept those strings yet make it sound way better by doing something else- I just don’t know what
trust me I agree, while the original had a more techno and videogamey feel to the final, this one feels more antiquated and is filled with a lot more emotion, but I still prefer the sharp and almost fun original version as its a culmination of every hardship that the final battle resonates with. I adore this version, but I feel the limitations the original had, just empower it.
For me, the best part of the remix is at 1:17. The heavy piano notes are powerful, not to mention the violin (?) that follows afterwards. All of this makes the passage emotionally stronger than the original. But that's just my opinion.
Coming from a guy who’s never played Bowser’s Inside Story and has no nostalgia for it, the original ost sounds pretty superior to me so far. This remix in particular just doesn’t pack the same punch as the original in the final.

Okay, I know which one you're referring to. I actually think most of their HD restorations are better than the original, but their Gangplank Galleon one is actually a little weaker IMO. But I think that version is still closer to the original than this version of In The Final is to the original DS version. Plus, I think other songs in this game are better than their original DS counterparts (such as the Giant Boss theme).

I cant stop listening to this. My body wont let me. Theyve somehow evolved one of my favorite pieces of music into something even better and more fitting for a climactic finale to one of my favorite games. I absolutely cant wait for this remake and i cant wait to hear this song again so i can let the inner 9 year old in me cry tears of joy and triumph

What's crazy is that I rediscovered mario and Luigi after I used to play it when I was 9 or something. Now after rebuying a 3ds and playing through this game and now it, I actually am having more fun than ever playing a game in my life.
Can't believe AlphaDream is gone. My heart genuinely broke seeing as i played these games in the roughest times in my life having such good memories them.

This is easily my favorite final boss of all time, it's so epic. Obviously the music but not just all that but how specifically perfect for this game it is too.
Like this fight perfectly complements the main mechanic of this game: both thematically with Dark Bowser & Fawful's situation of previous enemies inadvertently teaming up with one being eaten by the other mirroring Bowser & the Bros but also using it to incorporate both parties into the battle. I also haven't seen a ton of final bosses that have two major antagonists (and three villains). Also how both bosses are effectively phase 2s of their penultimate battles with the opposite party they're fighting now. It's all just so cool.
The best God damn Mario soundtrack, and the best song on that track. Remastered. And they didn't mess it up. I am so proud of Nintendo.

I never beat it because of the carrot minigame I tried so hard for months. I put the game down for a few days and I decided to try again but then I lost the cartrage. I was about 7 years of age.

I replayed the game after finishing Superstar Saga on an emulator and since I have this one on my ds and I don't know how ds games that use touchscreen would work on an emulator
The final boss was easy because I got to lvl 40 with everybody and learned the epic "double button mashing" (it's spamming x and y at the same time btw)

Because DS compression gives an extra bass to the song, making it epic for someones. (I prefer this one thorugh)

This was 3 years ago. And I still have the game in my collection with the rest of the games AlphaDream has created. This was The Grand Final For the Mario Brothers and for the last game for AlphaDream. They created the best remastered game for all of us. And it was good one to end it all. My childhood is still living on from one of game that started me playing more Mario Games.

I'm actually one of the few but I actually prefer this version of In The Final over the original. The original is great but the Choir in the background adds to how epic this theme is. I even listened to the original after this but still prefer this one.

Even though I played the original when I was a kid and that theme gives me so much nostalgia, when I heard this one, it almost brought a tear to my eye it's absolutely beautiful
I would say both are equal, just that the original piece has its iconic ds compression and this one just fits so much better in the remake than it would have been if they just would have ported over the original

I'm a bit iffy about this one, but I'll let it slide because it's not nearly as different as the Final Cackletta remaster.
Man that high pitched sound in the background (violin? Idk) kinda ruined it for me. If it wasn’t there it would be good/fine but it kinda ruins it
@DarkCoreX In the original GBA version, the heavy guitar is the main focus, with the organ taking more of a staccato background role.
In the DX version, the guitar fades into the background, the organ's reverb makes it sound really muddy, and the new trumpet stabs sit way above everything else in the mix.
It drops the original arrangement and just feels like a sinister ambience, instead of a hard rock tune that stands out against the rest of the soundtrack.
(Obviously this is just my opinion, and I'm glad you like it! It just doesn't hit the same for me.)
