Hi JazzMentlists! A very special shout out and warm thanks to all my fellow pianists on the Jazz Pianist Group on Facebook for helping me with this tutorial!!! Link to Download Seven Steps to Heaven Sheet Music jazzmentl.com/seven-steps-to-heaven-solo-piano-sheet-music-members/
Thank you Paul for presenting this great tutorial with sheet music download - much appreciated, normally for me your tutorials start at 3 am here in Australia and I don't always catch them on time to get a free download.......Matt.
I second the OP’s comment! I’m in Australia too and always sad I miss out on the free sheet music because I cannot attend the live streams. Maybe it could be made available for a day or two to give everyone a chance, but in any case the great work and resources are highly appreciated!
@@richie1047 Thanks 🙏. Don't forget to join me Saturday morning at 11:00 am EST right here on UA-cam for a LIVE Masterclass. Just hit the 🔔 on my channel to be reminded.
Thank you Paul, your tutorials are excellent! Could you possibly explain the logics of the chord progression of the song? So that it’s easier to remember later on…
Sure, start with the fact that it's an AABA tune so you only have to remember 2 X 8 bar sections. For the A section it follows the cycle of 5's for the first 4 bars. I - IV - III - VI - II - V (perfect cycle of 5th's with an Ab passing chord in front of the V7 chord which you don't need for the solo section) then just II - V - I for the next 4 bars. The bridge is a little tricker but the chords bascially ascend the C maj scale. C - D - E then a II V of Eb and then a IIV of Gb. Simple!
