I think it would be cool to just cover that restricted ravine with glass. Ads some flat plane to the battlefield, plus you’d be able to have that little hidden cave accessible.

For the PvP incentive; if you make it so that you can exchange a single item card and a player head for a double card of the same type, you not only encourage PvP but also head theft - killing a killer gets you double the rewards.
the key to card games is that you have to lean into the loopholes. instead of rebalancing cards, design cards that can counter the loopholes and accidentally create new loopholes
I think you should make it that for each murder they can exchange a single item card for a that same type in double. That way the element of “what they find they keep” is still basically in play. Otherwise it just becomes a murder fest with very little focus on card collecting.

I know there have been some negative comments on the "no entry" sign; but i think it's ok that it a jarring sight and it works perfectly for this. I also like the idea of using that side cave from its other entrance through the water. Just mostly close off the hole at the ravine end, and make sure the entrance through the water is just a bit visible. Lastly, the beach turned out so great! That wave idea is awesome!
You could use End Rods for lighting as it's very versatile. Keralis sells them in his sauna at his original house, I think Impulse also sell them at Illuminate. I agree with others that you should seal the ravine with light grey glass just below the 'No Entry' sign, you can still allow the waterfall to go through. Edit - changed 'cavern' to 'ravine'.
Beef, you should do it so that the Hermit with the most kills gets some sort of advantage, like they can swap one of their cards for any card another hermit has or something! I think that would be cool! Love the videos Beef, keep it up! ❤
This gave me memories of beach trips decades ago that I haven't thought of in forever. (huh, do people act the same at every beach? I didn't know that XD) And building a wave of actual water is something I'm not sure I've seen anyone do. Nice!
My favorite TCG match was Doc vs Impulse in the Season 1 tournament. Very close game, very intense! It should've gotten it's own award! (Sorta how a promotion like the UFC does "Fight of the Night" awards)

Ok i have been making a Murloc village for the past year or 2... so im totally stealing that surfing wave idea for my Murlocs, it fits the theme perfectly!
3:17 A problem I see with that idea is that they don't know what the other players have, so the incentive might not change that mutch. A suggestion I'd like to give that might stimulate PvP would be to have the names of the cards that are in each hiding spot be announced each time someone opens it, so people would be wanting to go after the person who finds a good card. And I would say that it would maybe reduce the capacity for strategic thinking. Another thing. The re-spawn being right were they put the cards, benefits camping, because if they win they get the cards immediately safe, if they lose their are immediately back into position for camping again. It might be a good idea to let people change the location of their shulker boxes before the start, so if there is a camper, they would still have to run towards their box before getting their cards to safety, and having just fought would make them weaker. (I suppose you can't pick things from the shulker boxes of other players) Or you have to put the boxes further away from each other.

I think it would be interesting if some type cards were hidden in their perspective type areas. Like explorer can be found on top of island and pvp could be rewarded by killing a player

Would it just be easier and to seal up the prohibited area/cave? So players won't even know it's there? Then you just have to light up the under area so things don't spawn. I wonder if you could put snow on the top of the wave to bring some white in. Good episode once again Beef.
I’ll be honest, I do not like the restricted symbol for the ravine. I would either cover it with grass, glass, or do a fog effect with glass. Why don't you still use the cave, but block off the entrance leading to the ravine? That way it's a super sneaky 1-way water entrance, but doesn't risk confusing players on the restricted area.

I would suggest trying invisible armor stands holding shields, then you can have cool patterns on the surfboards or towels.

You don't have to add a bunch more waves to make it "realistic", but one more just 1 block high half the way to the beach would definitely help.
