@@TheDemouchetsREACT I had to think about it, but I'd suggest you watch the story of Battle of Bamber Bridge: ua-cam.com/video/hxedbp7KCNk/v-deo.html Heroes Among Us: Incident at Bamber Bridge. My father fought throughout the second World War, but one of the few things that really stuck out to him was the U.S. Army's attitude and treatment towards African Americans. He even took part in one of the many running street battles that occurred in the South West of England (Bristol), during the build up of forces before D-Day 1944. After the war he continued to serve until 1981, during which time he stayed in contact with a few African American veterans, and they said that seeing how the White English treated people of colour compared to the U.S. had a profound effect on them. Racism existed and exists in the U.K., put it had and has nothing on the States.

Our reaction: ua-cam.com/video/FczZmBjYLDE/v-deo.html Thanks for sharing! I had 2 grandfathers who served in the war. Unfortunately, they passed away before I was old enough to ask any questions, but I do have a 90 year old grandmother who speaks of the past and present. History is scary sometimes. I don't think I (or my personality) would've survived that time.

Oh my God, I am sooo happy that you guys finally got to react to a video about the Gambia.
I love watching you guys a lot and I am glad that one of my request got fulfilled even if it was not my request that may have made you guys to consider.😅
Anyways it makes me so emotional seeing you asking questions about the Transatlantic Slave Trade and Kunta Kinteh...
The Island were Kunta Kinteh was from was called Juffereh and it got renamed Kunta Kinteh Island after the release of Roots. There are still descendants of his cousins who live there.
The crocodiles are sooo peaceful and have never harmed anyone since they got there, plus there's a white crocodile believed to have 'spiritual powers" that comes out of the pond only on Fridays.
Hopefully one day you guys will get to visit The Gambia 🇬🇲💜

The proper term is ethnic group. Gambia has 9 ethnic groups and within each ethnic group you then get tribes.

It’s true the crocodiles are safe, you can even touch them and take pictures with them. I touched them and took pictures with them when I visited with my daughter and nephew 12.2022. I hope that you and your family will visit The Gambia one day by God’s Grace❤

That was a great question!! In my view, there was possible internal displacements, those who escaped capture may never live as families again but separated and lived elsewhere never to connect with surviving relatives . Slavery is haunting even today! 😫

Just knowing the stories that took place in the U.S. is heartbreaking. I could only imagine the stories told back in Africa. That was so an unfortunate event that still affects us all.

It does, effects of slavery are still present today , from the African continent, North America, South America and Caribbean, you must be affected by the Trans Atlantic slavery to even begin to understand us.

So tribes ARE different to nations, tribes can span across multiple countries etc,
Certain tribes in Nigeria for example are also in neighbouring countries sometimes even further. Tribes basically all have there own beliefs and way of lives passed down for literally thousands of years

I laughed when you both said "the Zulu tribe". The Zulu nation is a combination / amalgamation of the different tribes that King Shaka conquered to build the Zulu Nation.

Both tribe and ethnic group are sometimes used interchangeably. Both are good to use in my opinion. Just depends on the context sometimes

Tribe is demeaning, Europeans came up with the term it is just recently people have realized it was used to demean someone but the correct term is ethnic group sometimes even me i forget and say tribe too but it’s not to be disrespectful so i get you some people still use tribe and they don’t know it’s disrespectful so it’s ok
