    WOW! You are incredibly talented, and your name is plastered all over UA-cam. Every vid I have watched today has refered to Yvonne Williams. People are making videos of their attempt of your craft. You must be so honored! I had watched one of your vids a while back on making a dragon eye. I went to purchase large cabachons online (had to wait and wait for them to come in), then I didn't have the paints I wanted, now I want an awl, etc, etc. Then, I wondered on how to present it and started snooping around UA-cam and came across quite a few videos using polymer clay on their dragon eye and each one refered back to you ;) Now I need to get polymer clay, LOL!

    I've been in the hospital for about 2 weeks now (still in but hopefully going home tomorrow) and I've missed so many of your things! This was the first video I watched since I came in here and I couldn't be happier that I pick the right one! Exquisite Dragon-eye! I simply love it and want to try to replicate it! Could you give me a few examples as to what you would use this for? A custom book cover, a wall hanging etc.

    • @gidgetnsweetpealacarter9797
      @gidgetnsweetpealacarter9797 6 років тому +1

      This is an a more personal note, I am definitely going to join your Patron. However, I wanted to join on the day that I get my Social Security check. Unfortunately I was in the hospital barely conscious when that day arrived. If I join today is it possible to have the date changed to the 15th for automatic withdrawal? It really leads to whether or not I can join today or I have to wait again for another month. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer! I follow you every single day! Is there any chance you could warn us in advance as to when you are having a live show? I always seem to just miss them. Love ya Von!!😘😘

      @backtoearthcreations  6 років тому +1

      Hey, SweatPea! I don't know of a way to change Patreons withdraw date, but if you pledge now they don't take money out until the 1st of the following month, if that makes sense. Thank you so much for your kindness and support, it is really encouraging! I will be doing more eyes like this in the future and will show how to display and use them :)

  • @lida6152

    A question:
    If I put nail polish in the oven, it won't damage the art or the clay underneath right?😅

    I always like stopping by to get inspiration! Another beautiful piece. When you do a sculpture like this that obviously isn't a piece of jewelry, do you have ideas on how to display it? I think you said you were doing this one for someone who was going to incorporate it into something they were working on, but I just wonder if you were doing this for yourself, where would you go from here? Would you mount it on something or frame it? This whole world of crafting is so new to me, and, while I like doing the art, I'd like to have a way to show it off. Ideas?

    I first want to say I love your work, and thank you for the tutorials. I began painting dragon eyes with acrylic paint but as per your suggestion have since switched to higher grade cabochons and nail polish, they turn out so beautiful!!, BUT I have encountered a problem that I am hoping you can help me solve. when sculpting around my painted eye with polymer clay, I have found that when I put them in the oven to cure my paint job liquifies and beocomes a mess, what can I do!?, thank you

    • @backtoearthcreations
      @backtoearthcreations  6 років тому +1

      Hello, Kim! I have heard of a few folks having this problem, and the best advice I can give to begin trouble shooting is 1.) let the nail polish dry completely for up to 3 days, you don't want to be able to dent it with your finger nail 2.) if you are baking it with polymer clay, don't let the nail polish backside of the cab sit against the uncured clay for very long; the poilish and unbaked clay react with each other and everything gets mega goopy 3.) if you are doing both of these first two steps and still having problems, try putting samples of each of your nail polish types onto a piece of glass like from a picture frame or a ceramic tile and bake the sample the same way you are baking your pieces; some of your nail polishes might be more reactive than others to heat exposure, and this will help you to identify which ones bake well and which ones don't. I hope this is helpful to you!!

    • @kimhauck804
      @kimhauck804 6 років тому +1

      thank you!, I personally have found that acrylic does not react this way, so I am experimenting with doing the pupil with paint and the rest with nail polish hoping that my pupil will stay intact and even if the nail polish paint job gets weird it might wind up being amazing...lol fingers crossed

    Hi Yvonne! This is amazingly beautiful!!!! 😍How do you think the glow in the dark UV powder would look on the glass eyes , would you mix it with the Polish or just add it as a first layer after the black pupil?

    Von did you bake the clay with the glass eye cabochon in it if so wouldn't it mess with the fingernail polish the baking process?

    • @GardenDevotions
      @GardenDevotions 6 років тому +1

      I've baked a lot of dragon eyes. If you place the dragon eye and then bake it soon afterward, it doesn't cause any problems. If you let it sit on unbaked clay for a while (and I'm not sure exactly how long, probably at least a day or more), it might be a problem. I had trouble once with liquid Sculpey dissolving some of the nail polish when I let it sit for too long before I baked it (but I didn't pay attention to exactly how long). When I bake them within a few hours, it's never caused me a problem, though.

    • @jo351
      @jo351 6 років тому

      Sometimes I have problems and sometimes not I think it depends on the polish... I had a lot of problems with red... also I had problems coating the back with black and it bleeding through all the other colors when baking. that being said I've heard other people that have not problems at all
