      The toboggan ride is a fun and fast way to descend from the top of the mountain, sliding down winding tracks, offering an experience that is both enjoyable and thrilling. It is one of the most popular and unique ways for visitors to enjoy the scenery while making their way down.

    In fact, the Great Wall is a good illustration of the fact that China has always been a defensive people, not an aggressive people, and agricultural civilization has kept China developing for almost five thousand years. Even the great navigator Zheng He, who led a fleet of more than 20,000 people to sea five or six hundred years ago, only brought world trade and Chinese civilization. There is an old Chinese saying that "taking history as a mirror can let people know why dynasties change and rise and fall."😊

    • @TheBackpackersPassport
      @TheBackpackersPassport  27 днів тому

      You make an excellent point! The Great Wall truly reflects China's rich history and its focus on defense and preservation. It's fascinating how much we can learn from the past!

    Some of the watch towers have fire pits so that fire could be lighted up. Back then they used various style of the flame to transit information thousands of miles within hours, just like in the Lord of the Ring!!👌🤩

    it's false rumor you can see the wall from space 😅. the unrestored sections have partially or fully destroyed upper ramparts so it's dangerous for the average tourist to walk on since someone could fall off. if you are an experienced hiker, you can still go to it off the beaten tourist areas. it's one of those things you have to see in real life to know the scale. before I saw it in person, I though ok a long wall no big deal... then I saw it sprawling along mountain ridges yikes! lol

    • @TheBackpackersPassport
      @TheBackpackersPassport  Місяць тому +1

      You are absolutely right! It’s crazy to think of the scale of the wall! Next time we go we would love to check out that hiking section you mentioned! Thanks for the tip 😊

    在漫长的历史中,中国农业文明不断遭受游牧民族的入侵,逼迫中国人下定决心完成这个壮举,长城虽然没有金字塔那么复杂,但是依然是世界上最浩瀚的工程。

      What do you mean “invaded by nomads” ?

    • @idofdm7625
      @idofdm7625 Місяць тому +1

      Nomads refer to people north of China who live a nomadic lifestyle herding animal through grassland later organized enough to have their own cities and form alliance between themselves! China was prosperous agrarian society, so the nomads often invade China border to plunder its cities and towns like the Viking!
      Of China a few thousand years existence, twice " foreigners " completely conquered and ruled China, Mongolian ( Yuan Dynasty, part of Mongolian Empire stretch that all the way to Europe )1271-1468 and Manchurian ( Qing Dynasty ) 1644-1912.
      Sorry to bored you with history😅
