- The Sepdiurnal Virus is rapidly changing and the Red Moon Phenomenon now occurs every single night... In this playthrough I'll be spinning a wheel to determine the difficulty each day (aka viral mutation/evolution). Some days will be easy, others will be very hard! And each day there will be a horde night. How long can we last before we're overrun by the undead?!

Been playing with the mods you're using, and wanted to let you (and others) know the dangers of the Explosive Shotgun Shells; they CAN and WILL *delete* any floor or wall behind whatever you're shooting at. Like a 4x4 area, especially wood, will just be gone, reduced to atoms.
Thankfully I didn't shoot it in my horde base, but the sheer destruction was incredible.

Edit: those walls are really gonna need upgrading to reduce the wall digging, that ceiling finally failed aswell.

The chains are for the tires in the winter. You could have used a steroid when you were trying to kite the zombies around the POI. Great episode, lots of fun.

consider taking "from the shadows" perk. Doesn't help with feral sense but it does help stringing them along as zombies would stop chasing you the moment you get too far/get out from their line of sight.

Yeesss! Get a quest, double loot it. Won't need cloth for a long time after that!

You've inspired me to start my own playthrough again, and I've found that running a line of electrical fences along your zombie poles helps slow down and regulate traffic, and making a little bridge outside or access port to the repairable fence allows it to stay active all night
I might look into getting a line for directly in front of the fighting area
@@GunsNerdsandSteel I'd love a mod that toned down the zap spam, visually and audibly.
If they just jolted and jerked about with some occasional, small, and visually very brief arcs I'd be much happier.
That will take a year to be further researched on after they release the 1.0 version like a slob
@@rayquinn1974 I could be wrong but I think Genosis from Not A Gamer Gaming made a mod to make the zapping sound a little more quiet. He's also made mods to change the voicelines for the drone.
First Aid Kit cloth requirements are obscene. Great fights today!
You do have a basket full of dukes Tem, just buy every first-aid kit you find on the traders. Easy solve.
This was certainly a hair-raising day, wasn't it? Zombies being absurdly resilient and pathing where they have no need to, birds coming in through the attic (which I believe might be because of the shotgun turret breaking roof blocks), screamers deciding Tem needs a "hug"... what a day to be stuck on headshots-only!

Zombies within about a 10-15 block radius can go into a berserk/rage mode attacking building block nearby. To prevent this you'd need to be 15 blocks above the floor where the zombies will be and a bridge of 15 blocks long will help prevent them to attack the slope. I'm not exactly sure about the radius but its somewhere between 10-15
The magic number is 11.
also worth noting, they stay in "destroy area" mode for like 20-30 seconds and if they get within 11 blocks during that time they will start hitting things.. if your loop is too short they will start beating on your stairs or catwalk

As that map is brutal with the distance quests and few cities.
Kiting them like a PRO! Lucky the POI allowed you to do so pretty easy XD But these zombie POI traps can be insane lol
I think the problem is the pole your standing on at 17:30 When you step on it you might break the pathing for them cause of the double circle plate. That when you stand on the pole the zombie think you are on that circle plate block instead because you are within the 1m of that block. So they see no path but only the path arround trough your wall. Because there they can go up a block.
My guess is the double circle gapped plate and you standing to close to it that breaks the pathing. Or the pole in combination with it. Or just the pole XD
Maybe, since you're using the sink shape thing for the fighting positions, and they're not completely centered, you could make one off centered so you can see the front plate? It might be easier to fix the front plate
Having a single lantern on a horde night has such an ominous feeling

The turrets are almost useless against headshot only zombies birds. The few pellets that hit are not enough to kill in one hit, and the shotgun likes to damage the blocks more than the zombies. As for the cops, put in a electric fence over the vault doors, it won't stop them from spitting in the long run but should buy enough time to shoot them. And upgrade the walls and ceiling to concrete to stop the burrowing. I think they are trying to make stairs to get above you then drop down through the wood ceiling above you.
That army base horde was brutal.

Yikes! I thought the base was gonna fall for sure!!! Very unlucky wheel spin for the day! Glad you made it through all that! I know that base repair/ resource hunting can get a bit grindy but you really need to take some time out from taking jobs to repair and upgrade your base if it’s gonna be like this more often 😣 ❤
The army camp looked like a Stallionsden POI.
Haven't finished the episode yet, but a thought on the zombies continuously attacking the side blocks: A real easy way to get them to stop doing that is to remove that as an option entirely by removing those columns from about 3 blocks up from the ground to the top of the stairway. That way, there is no "path" for the zombies to take. Yes those blocks will be gone, but that should remove any incentive for the zombies to try and path that way.
EDIT: Actually, you could break the path by removing a column anywhere between your fighting position and the top of the stairs. Just make sure the break goes all the way up through the roof.
I would honestly use this horde night to Inspect which blocks of the base need to get upgraded first. Because If they did this much on 200% on a survivalist, I can't Ima give the amount of damage 300% on Insane difficulty would do.
For example, The zombie AI seems to want to claw through the wall rather than walk to the pipe, & then knock it down; they seem to dig through the upper right wall/corner. Those blocks should be upgraded first.

There is around 3500 cloth in the big Savage Country if you have the patience to scrap every piece of garment ;)
Zombie pathing over vault doors in the preferable orientation is janky right now. It seems like there's an RNG for whether or not a zombie will path over it when open, each tick. If you place the vault door in the less preferable orientation (open when off), they path over it MUCH easier.

You could paint the parts of the defensive position that take the most damage white. This might make it easier to see the cracks.
I think a really good series idea would be a mansion owner who was robbed by bandits and has to make a million dukes 🤔 😅 you do amazing stuff i would love to see what you could do with this idea
So, for the zombies attacking the walls around the door, they are possibly seeing it eas easier to dig around the walls to get to you. I would suggest upgrading at least one block either side of the doors to steel, but ideally, 2 or 3 blocks back.

if you're using the wmm options mod, there is an option to change the number of quests per tier.. pretty sure it defaults to 5 instead of 7.. it may be in other options type mods too.. but I don't think, from my playthroughs, that the multiple quests mod messes that up. though you can take the same quest multiple times if you accept a quest but don't complete it and come back the next day

I would knock out blocks along the wall to the height your polls are at, only need 2 wide. Then they won't see the wall as a way to get to you. I know it opens up the inside, but only birds will come through there.

I really would like to see GNS try the War3Zuk overhaul. I think it would be quite entertaining and educational to see how he compensates for the zombies that shoot back, and the crazy difficulty (especially early game).

I would adjust the stairs so that they can get up from both sides of them, basically add a switch back
Take a day to pick cotton and aloe, then load up a workbench or two. This strategy of using, primarily, first aid bandages, coupled with tactial use of vitamins, has always helped me to keep a comfortable stash of medical supplies at all times.

Maybe they're trying to make a staircase to the roof and drop in on you from where the birds are getting in.

Axes work great to clean out stuck zombie bodies off the fighting position
Try having one in your toolbelt every horde night
You could use electric fences in front of your fighting positions to slow them down and make it easy for headshots
I'd just tear the walls out around the the top of the stairways expanding the 'doorway' openings so the zombies wouldn't try to tear a path that way.
Why don't you take some of the vitamins before entering a poi, to avoid the infection? Saves you on the antibiotics ^^

In the repair block mod description (thanks for listing the mods and links btw) it says "It will randomly check blocks in its perimeter if they need repair and if the required materials are in storage.." seeing how it's random, would it be possible to have multiple repair blocks within your land claim area to speed up repairs? On the other hand that might be a bit of a cheese tactic.
My guess is that your pathing issue is caused from the fact your ceiling is made of wood. So the zombies see that as the path of least resistance.

when you killed the zombie and the radius of the treasure decreased it was most likely because you pierced the zombie and destroyed a piece of the ground behind it

You need a mod that allows explosives to do head shot damage. There is no way brains don't get turned to mush when the concussive force and/or shrapnel hits them. Land mines maybe not but pipe bombs and grenades most certainly.

In the OCB Lawn Tractor mod, if you find a lawn tractor with an attachment on it you have a chance to get random mods when harvesting it. Be a great mod, but when you harvest with it, it does not work with Living off the Land perk. It won't reseed unless it's harvesting at the same time either.

For the headshots problem with traps, could you mount some dart traps in the ceiling over your approach lanes?
If Tem would pop some vitamins before a poi shouldn’t that help getting an infection? In stead selling them would be good to stack them on a horde night too help with cop spit
Tem the zombies are creating sort of stairs at the side walls cause your ceiling is still wood i think they see that as a faster way in.
You should put some narrow wedges on top of that "Band" around your bases.... Waste :P Or make that band 2 or 3 high!
Now....I am always playing horde every night and no crafting....if not, it is too easy and no thrills. Imagine taking refugee at different attics each night with limited supplies.

Hey Tem, I was thinking if you wanted to continue your Darkness Falls story you could use Apocalypse now, or Ravenhearst mods to do that
Remember the A20 DF base Citidel of steel? Why not Utilize the Dart trap thing you used in the original DF Playthrough For Headshots only but have them on the flanks when you're repairing another flank of the fighting positions This way zombies are still being damaged and not destroying stuff while you're repairing another flank position
Would it help if maybe you put some half blocks, or quarter blocks on the sides of the path where the stairs are? Maybe with the walls not to tight there, they will ignore the sides a little more? Not sure if that's how the AI would behave...just a thought.

For the wall solution is as you upgraded the fighting position to steel they think its easier to carve to concrete so you gotta upgrade them to steel
And I dont know why you are not using a silencer mod for the sniper you could kill em in seconds and they won't wake up i just slap the silencer mod on first thing its like butter
