@Mexitplans when it gets to full speed how many hours will it take? And did you mention the cost round trip Merida to Cancun? (I have Temp Residency), I missed it if you did. Thanks!!
Nice video. It will be nice once the train starts running at full speed. They can use a programming algorithm to figure out the train schedule automatically.
Yes, you are right. That would be cool. I’m surprised that there are not monitors or a least a spot on the website to tell you arrivals and departures.
I just watched in AMLOs morning press conference that they should open Playa del Carmen on Feb 29 th but I have not seen any news about opening Tulum on Feb 29 th.
Yeah they split the Cancun section into two parts north and south. The target keeps moving on when things will open. Right now Cancun to Playa Del Carmen is supposed to open on the 29th with the second part opening at a later unannounced date.
Im planning my trip for February now. It looks like. I’ll have to go down one evening. Explore maybe a day or two. Then leave the following morning back to Merida.
It seems I can only reach the ticket site from trenmaya.gob.mx
actually I figured out if you go to the site etradas site and click the Maya Train Logo it brings up the scheduling app.
Hey brother anytime anyone asks me about the train I always share or and refer them to your vids. Keep up the great accurate informative videos. ✌🏼
I appreciate that. I plan to be the official immigrant guinea pig 🐹 for all the routes train Maya.

Glad it was helpful! I much more updated information coming this week.
LOVE LOVE your information ! I'm happy i found you
So am I. Welcome to MexitPlanners.
I appreciate you for this info,I was planning a trip in a few weeks flying from savannah to Cancun directly and taking the train.
It’s my pleasure. I’m glad it was helpful.
Wait so the journey from Merida to Cancun on the train is now 4 hrs?? Is that not the same amount of time it takes on the bus?
Yes. Exactly. It’s not running at full speed yet so it’s taking as long as the bus.

Well, that's a let down. ADO's probably more reliable at this point.
@@imonkey01 1000% and now that most of the construction is done the road is open and safer.
Thank you so much for this information. What an almost waste of time for the same exact service, but less complicated.
The one thing that folks say versus the bus is the ride doesn’t feel like 4 hours.

My main concern is AC on tourist cars and the sun shining on the sits. We are in winter, What will happen during summer?
They have AC but no window shades.
@@Mexitplans I believe it's not an issue in premiere, only in tourist cars.
The tourist car felt comfortable as well. I’m planning my next trip in February most likely to Palenque so I’ll verify that both have AC.
@@Mexitplans Thank you. I travel on the 19th. I didn't go to the premiere car, but allegedly it was cooler than the rest.
I want to take it to Palenque, but am going to wait until they work out the kinks.

This entire thing has been so super rushed and half-baked from the very beginning. Not ready for prime time.
Todavia No. Not Yet!
