    Static to dynamic, guided practice to independent practice. Strong use of scaffolding the lesson so students can move from simple to complex.

    This is awesome, thank you for sharing.
    I would love to know the more previous part, teaching how to grip the raquet, how to teach the swing...
    I have very little kids, 3-4 yo and It's difficult at the begining!

    I would teach them open stance, they’ll be using this stance more than closed and even neutral stance.

    I like it, but I noticed that there was no rallying? I think it being fun is Great. I’m a fan of having them learn to play first, hit top spin, and then teach stroke work

      i thiunk the rally is essencial :) the feeling about the distance and opponent has to be build first. may be. :)

    Love how you teach students to go from static to dynamic. If they can do the movement standing still they can do it moving. Way to go.

    Great job controling the group. But dont you think that the kids should have some control even if its at the expense of strength?

      Control is a good thing to learn and teach . Picture this almost everyone no matter the age , when first started you had some type of fun and maybe alot of fun before getting instructions or learning technique

      This video was shot when masks were mandated in NY. Masks are no longer required to be worn.

    This is really sweet. I played a bit of tennis in my teens, but only remember the last like 1-2 years of it. After many years I begin to appreciate the value of these kinds of lessons that were imparted on to me, I can remember them watching this even though at the time I don't remember paying attention (probably thinking about girls, LOL). But going back this is the kind of stuff that made me enjoy playing tennis.

      Hey thanks for watching the video. However, anywhere for a 19 to 21 inch Racket can work but that could also vary on you child height and strength

      Unfortunately, at the time this video was filmed, it was a requirement in New York State to wear masks indoors. They no longer are required and we are very happy to be playing tennis all day everyday without masks.

      ​@@DiegoMorales-by1mstennis is an open skill sport. Never teach kids in a static location. That's how you teach golf. The good coaches got rid of this approach many years ago.

      At the time this video was filmed, we were required by law to wear masks indoors. Not ideal by any means, but it was the law.
