- Hi everyone and welcome to my channel, today I'll show you how to make beautiful rounded wicker baskets out of wash basins, utility buckets, plastic rattan, cord or rope and a secret ingredient from this video)))
Here is the formula to calculate the "tails" lengh you'll need for the basket:
L:W*(Lwp+Lbp):2:K=tail length
where
L - is the full stalk length
W - the rattan or rope width
Lwp - the circumference at the base widest part
Lbp - the circumference at the base bottom
K- number of stalks
Make sure to add 7-20 inches extra to make sure you have enough (as for me, 7 inches would be just fine!)

plastic rattan (I used about 100 yards of rattan for the smaller basket, my rattan was 5 mm wide, with wider one you will need less, make sure to calculate the amount as per the formula and add about 10 yards for the stalks):

Let me know if you find better options with big amounts of rattan available! Thanks a lot!
This is the best basket weaving tutorial I have ever seen!
These are lovely and a lot of work. Well done!
You are so talented veré beautiful work. That was hard work. God bless you!
I've always wanted work with rattan. I like how you think outside the box as well. Very informative video. Good job!

Wow they are gorgeous! Really clever and smart idea! I'm glad your channel popped up in my feed on youtube. I think your garden landscaping of yard is also beautiful selection of shrubs and flowers.
Fascinating. Gorgeous baskets.

Wow, this is awesome work!
amazing job. Nice idea.
Wonderful video! Thank you😊
❤❤❤ the baskets. They're beautiful
Beautiful
Wow! Those basket planters are stunning!
Maybe you can use a solder iron or what I use - is wood burning tool to burn holes in my pots for my orchids to get lots of air and drainage in plastic pots. I like to get clay but it’s not always easy to find the right ones. And sometimes I just have to repot and can’t wait months.
Stunning
Very brilliant❤️👍👍👌👌
Beautiful!
I love these ❤
Gorgeous!! You are an excellent teacher!!! Amazing work!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful craft with us! ❤
Excelso!! 🥰
So bet! Is there anything you can’t do?❤️
Super impressive! I love them! Can I ask what colour the rattan is?
Hallo, echt toll . Gute idee. Lieben Gruß Gabriela 😘
This is brilliant!!! How long did it take you to make them??
Wow is right!
Put a piece of masking tape where you want to drill on plastic or ceramic/glass. The reason it can’t grab is because it’s slippery.
My name is Irene too!

I'm pretty sure your drill bits were having trouble because you have them going backwards, which is only for the drill bit to "unscrew" out of the hole you've just made with it. It needs to be rotating to the right. (Clockwise)
I wonder, Could a wood burner tip or glue gun tip be used to melt the holes instead of drilling?
Beautiful. I know your hands ached after that
Thanks! Actually no, as you don't have to stretch the rattan too hard)
Wow
Beautiful! but I do not have patience
😲💙😲OH MY GOD😲💙😲
What is the weaving product called
😮❤❤❤❤
Dear Lord, u have a lot of nerves 🙋🏼♀️💪🤣 Well done, girl 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
Thanks!
JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!! You never disappoint! That looks like fun once you get the hang of it... is there nothing Irene can't do, and do WELL? I'm gonna definitely give this a shot... btw, I think the shapes are more interesting than if they were just round!
Thank you, dear🥰
Absolutely brilliant 🤩
I don’t know why you don’t like the shape of them, I absolutely love them. This is the first video that I was so engrossed in I didn’t have to watch it at high speed. You stand out from the crowd with great interesting content.
Amazing baskets very nice useful video nicely explain thanks for sharing your experience with us
Now I want to weave at 6AM! 😁💙
These are phenomenal!
Your garden is so beautiful and your planters are so great!!
Thank you🥰
I love your idea ❤️ 💙 💜
I just found your channel and I love it, you are a artist, that's baskets are beautiful and needs a lot of work. I don't have the patience and those skills, you have to be proud of yourself. Congratulations to you.
That was amazing!! You did a beautiful job!!
I love how your baskets turned out.❤️ It was entertaining watching you put all of that work into your project, I wouldn’t have the patience.
I was doing this with a plastic bucket, about halfway through it quit going through. Anyway after a lot of drill bit changes I realized I had inadvertently flipped it from drill to reverse 😏
Irene has an excellent grasp of the English language, and a very pleasant voice to listen to .
Wow you’re so talented that is absolutely beautiful thank you for sharing
Your yard is like the Garden of Eden. 🌻🌷🪻🥀🌺 The baskets are so unbelievably beautiful. You have a wonderful talent. ❤️
you're so talented, I love all your videos👍
Thanks!!
I am SO envious of your talent!! ☺️
Those baskets are just AMAZING!!! LOL, While watching this video, I started searching Amazon for some of that Rattan rope, AS IF I could even attempt making anything close to those baskets, LOL 🤦🏻♀️
I just need you to come visit North Carolina & let me pay you to make them for me, Hahaha. (J/k). After paying for your plane tickets, hotel room, food & the basket supplies, THOSE would be some very expensive baskets, lol.
For real tho, I’m gonna order some of that rope & try! Maybe not one as big as your’s to start w/, but once I’ve got it all figured out, I’ll work my way up to some larger ones!!!!
Thank-you SO much for sharing your ideas & talent, it is truly appreciated!!! ❤️🪴
If there’s anything from America you’d like to have, let me know & maybe I can get it & send it to you, as a Thank-You for the time, know.edge & energy you put into your videos!! ☺️
I have NO IDEA how much those kinda baskets would cost in Russia, but over here, at least in NC, the larger ones would run anywhere from $50.00 to well over $100.00. I saw some large ones for $450.00+! 😳. I can’t believe people would pay that much, I sure couldn’t/wouldn’t!! That’s why I’m thankful for UA-camrs like you, who share their knowledge w/ all of us!!
Take care & I hope you & your family are having a great weekend!!
Well those weren’t put together with pipe cleaners and styrofoam balls!! What a lot of work but what a wonderful reward. They are beautiful and I don’t think a professional could have done better. You are very good at what you do and I enjoyed the video immensely. I have subscribed and am looking forward to your next video. Thanks
These are so beautiful. I wish I had the patience maybe when I’ve got nothing to do in the winter.
These fountains are INGENIOUS ❣️I absolutely will be making one actually two for my gazebo and upper deck ❣️Thanks for sharing your fountain ideas , I’m soooo grateful ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❣️
Wow forget Pottery Barn so what did materials cost to make? I'd pay hundred dollars for each those absolutely perfect👏🏻
I watched your channel for the first time. The basket planters are absolutely beautiful. You have more patience than I will ever have keep up the good work.
Very pretty, you have great skills in crafts! Great ideas but I don’t think I have the patience like you do. You’re very smart and creative! ❤️

You are absolutely incredible, so creative and talented. Thank you so much for this video!!!!!! Keep creating!!!!!
Beautiful job.
I wish I could do that. ❤
You did a very professional job.
I have found that using a soldering iron is easier for me to make holes in plastic instead of using a drill. It can be a little stinky, so that is a con, but i just make sure to do it outside so there is plenty of ventilation. Thank you for your video. Youre very creative. Much ❤ from Nashville TN USA 🇺🇸
Smart. Also, I just watched a different project video where someone made a hole in a piece of plastic using the hot tip of an empty glue gun.
Oh gosh those baskets are so stunning and you are so amazing at creating all of them. Thanks for sharing this! 🤗💜
Great baskets, you are so clever and resourceful
It's cheaper and faster to buy a ready bucket. All your projects are extremely time consuming.
Wow, how rude😮
My goodness! Not only are you skilled at weaving but your imagination and creativity are off the chart!
