I wish the governor had called for a state of emergency BEFORE the storm like the North Carolina governor did. If he had then we'd have had the FEMA help immediately, like NC did, instead of having to wait for it, while people suffer. I've been part of the effort in the Newport area and I'm so grateful for the excellent local leadership here, but we REALLY NEED that money and resources from the federal government.
You KNEW the emergency was coming, Gov. Lee. you just didn't want to admit that you needed federal aid after all your claims that we don't need the federal government. If you'd declared the emergency on time, nobody would've gone to work, they'd all have been at home taking care of their families in this disaster.
We need universal healthcare. People are dying unnecessarily. You can't fight everybody Governor. WE HAVE A RIGHT TO HAVE GOOD HEALTH. RENDER TO CESAR WHAT IS CESAR AND RENDER TO GOD WHAT IS GOD'S.
