You would accept an AI as being social and intelligent because we won't know the difference. When you walk down the road and there is a human-shaped object talking to you. You just respond to it. Can you imagine having 20 million cyborgs mixing with humans. How can you tell the difference unless you start tearing it apart. So no we have lawsuits because there was some form of prejudice against and human or an AI. The owner of the AI would argue his machine was proving a service or is owned by an individual so it should have a level of respect and equality. I personally would rather spend an hour with a cyborg learning mandarin and playing Chopin than a human staring at their phone and complaining.
