I got a Shortbox of raws and a Shortbox of slabs that are grab in case of fire or tornado ( im in Kansas ) the books get promoted or demoted depending on my preference or time in my life but it’s always just the two boxes
@Kid-Comics dude it was SO HARD for me to save that much money. I didn’t buy hardly anything for a year. I’d even skip meals. I owned 2-6 already and felt incomplete if that makes sense…. When I got it in my hands I felt a huge relief…. I felt free. I will never save for a book that expensive again.
Wow! Great stories and personal insights. Awesome. @@danielcochran9882 dude those books are awesome but the back stories are even more awesome! I love the fact that you bought some of those off the rack. Those truly can’t be replaced. 👊
@dope_comix4455 yes and there are others I got on same birthday trip...Western Ghost Rider #2 thru #7, Iron Fist #14 Now a graded 6.5, Hero for Hire #1 still ungraded, Iron Man #6 and #7....Tomb of Dracula #10 ( given to me around 1978 when a friend older brother moving out to his first apartment, downsizing, gave me like 200 books, including Swamp Thing #1.... Heck I still have original Star Wars movie run and Godzilla #1 all bought off the rack from local 7-11, too many stories and memories in the collection. I remember some specific books from childhood that I still own Marvel Feature #1, Super Villian Team Up #1( my older brothers book he gave me one Christmas) alot of them, I just see the cover and remember that this was off the rack from the mid to late 1970's. The personal history spans a lifetime as I am sure yours does as well. Still that Hulk #1 and Werewolf cover...the early Superman and Batman...just WOW !... A.S.M #1....I lack words. Thank you for sharing.
Great books and stories to save. I would grab the books I original picked up when I was a kid and first started collecting. Web of Spider-Man 1 comes to mind.
umm.. I dunno if I'd be bragging about making 200 videos when you've got less than 1k subs.. annnnnnnnd have we ever heard of fireproof safes ? or.. if you've got EXPENSIVE books.. just renting out a decent sized safe deposit box in a bank ? It's way cheaper than insuring a collection. added bonus, you won't have to find and buy em again.
That's a great touch with the Xmas note at the back. priceless
Yeah brother I keep all that kind of stuff and put it on the backs of either the slab or on back of the backing board.
@@dope_comix4455 Can't put a price on those Dope , beautiful 😎
@@garrz32 you’re so right brother.
Id probably take my asm 50. When I got back into comics that was the book I wanted. Glad to own one now.
