- Kyle Larson was zeroed in on his first ever qualifying run for an Indy 500 on Saturday when suddenly his engine switched off. He kept his cool, got the car back to the pits, his Hendrick-McLaren team took a couple hours to sort out the problem, then the NASCAR star went out and stood on it, turning in a 4-lap average 232.563 mph run to wind up 6th at that time and very much in play for making the top 12 and being part of the pole shoot-out Sunday for the 108th race. He's trying to do the daily double on May 26, run the 500 in the afternoon and the NASCAR Coca Cola 600 that night at Charlotte Motor Speedway. And he'll be doing a daily double of sorts Sunday, taking part in the pole shootout then helicoptering/jetting off to North Wilkesboro, N.C., for the NASCAR All-Star race Sunday night.
Just a cool cat! An amazing wheelman
Kyle following the A.J. Foyt blueprint as a true racer, from dirt to the brickyard, excelling at every step.
Too compare to AJ he’s gonna have to learn how to fight, AJ wasn’t scared to punch you in the mouth
God, ride with this young man and keep him and ALL the drivers safe as they drive these amazing race cars. God speed Larson!
Amen
AMEN
Clicks off 241 MPH gets out of car and says it felt fast but not scary fast...... love this guy.
I can see not feeling fast down the Indy straights, going into Turn 1 is another story. Where I thought Indy cars were hellaciously fast, being a Nascar fan, was Texas and the other Nascar ovals, especially the trioval areas.
@BurnNotice2023 I had been to 20 Indy 500s before NASCAR brought their show to town. My first thought was damn are open wheel cars that fast...... 'cause these stock cars are slow.
@@justsmitty1709 That's why they went to the road course, Indy is like Daytona with no banking. A stock car has to significantly slow down when they carry that speed into a flat turn. Makes for bad racing.
Kid can drive anything you put him in!
Man I'm so proud to be a Larson fan. I've been a fan since his Daytona crash in 2013. It's really something to see someone come up and be riding with them the whole time.
i love his passion and drive!!!!
It's great to see an American dirt track racer get an opportunity at Indianapolis again, and perform this well. When I was growing up (1960's, 1970's), virtually all the Indy racers came from the dirt ovals, and still raced on them.
Such a great natural talent behind the wheel he just feels it when he's driving incredible job Kyle!
Great Driver Kyle Larson he can drive anything ❤
The humble Larson as always even the 1st time I seen him race at Bloomington speedway Indiana in 2012 ish
This is one of the best race car driver I have ever seen. I don't think he is done getting better either!!!
Natural. Great job!
“They brought a fast race car…” and a FASTER DRIVER! 😎🤣💯🔥
Some people see him as a NASCAR driver only some people don’t realize all the open wheel dirt series races. He has not only one but has set records at he is one of the top race car drivers to come along.
Reminds me of Tony Stewart - can’t get enough racing in & will try any series. He has better results so far. Loved Tony, now cheering for yung money.
Kyle Larson is one of the few people born to be a race car driver, or seemingly like that's the case. Many are good at it, but few can stand out anytime they are on a track.
This guy is a true racer just get in whatever and go to work no fanfare no showy bravado he let’s his performance do the talking so many young racers could learn a lot from him.!
Heck of a run....🏁🏁👍
The iceman.
Let’s make it happen! Get the win!
Thank You Mr. May
The kid rides again 😊
I hope he wins the Indy 500 .
Goooooooo Motor Mouse 17 Class A Act
Great job speed racer ….Next up… we need a new astronaut for a 2nd moon shot…! 🇺🇸🔥😎🏁
Go Kyle👍♥️
Larson, can Drive the Wheels off of Anything.💙⭐️💙⭐️💙
Word !
240 mph. 'It's honesty pretty relaxing' 🤔 Who is this guy?
I think it’s awesome,,, cause he didn’t come from money, no silver spoon there folks, started with his dad in a minivan pulling a homemade trailer with a race car on it…
Wouldn’t y’all like to see him in WRC car ??
THANK YOU JESUS.!
Is he starting in the back because of a mechanical issue?
Starting in the back? He hasn't even completed qualifying yet...
If you’ve followed his career you’d see that he’s a once in a lifetime driver! The guy can climb into anything and master it in no time!
Ryan preece is better
Just ask him 😉🪠
