  • Antwerp : 21 Things to do in 2023
Itinerary for 2 days in Antwerp with the top attractions and hidden gems to explore.

    Antwerp Train Station
    Chocolate Nation
    Groenplaats
    Cathedral of Our Lady
    Hendrik Conscience Heritage Library
    Saint Charles Borromeo Church

No doubt, Antwerp is the most beautiful city of Belgium. You know you missed the KMSKA the recently renovated museum of art, and so many more places of interest!

Well, to be fair, there is only so much you can visit in two days... I think the video is a very nice selection.

Antwerp resident here... Beautifully made video! You really visited a lot in only two days! I would be exhausted! Two little typo's in the video (but keep them please 😊): it's "Havenhuis"(not Hevenhuis) and just "Meir" (not Mier Street).

Thank you for visiting our city!
Fun fact, in the 70s they wanted to tear down the train station as it was considered too old fashioned at that time and it was in bad condition.

This is a lovely summary of the sights in Antwerpen that make it special - I live in The Netherlands, and it's always my favourite Belgian city to visit. Thank you ‼️
I realise that you can't pack everything into 13 minutes, but ... I'm surprised that you did not include Rubens' late 16th Century house. Rubens is perhaps Antwerp's most famous son, and his house is kept intact for Visitors. I would personally visit 1 fewer churches than you did, and include this major historical art landmark instead. 🧐👍🏻
And, by the way, for those into it, Antwerp is also a treasure trove of fabulous Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture and interior design, competing with some of the finest in Bruxelles and Paris!
    ENJOY‼️

I really wanted to visit Rubens House. But unfortunately it was closed for renovation when I tried to visit. I walked in front of the house but couldn’t see anything, it was covered for the construction site. I just checked in the website - they will open again on 30th August 2024. I hope I will have the chance to see Rubens House and the other museums in the future. >__

@@LetsGo-Today Hi! Thanks for your Reply. I'm sure you will find the Rubens' house was worth waiting for when you do get back there.
But your enthusiasm for Antwerp was really great to see. I enjoy visits to Brussels too, but that has a very "French" feel compared to the more Flemish accessibility & warmth of Antwerp - but maybe I'm biassed as a Dutchman 😉.

If you like museums, it is better to visit in 2 days. The opening times are about 10.00-17.00, so it is not easy to fit everything into 1 day.
I am sorry - I don’t have any videos yet about the Netherlands. I only have Belgium, Luxembourg and UK.
      Have a great trip. >__

Ignore Chocolat Nation and go to the KMSKA (royal museum of fine arts) instead. Plenty of real (less touristy) chocolatiers in the city center. Spend your euros on actual Belgian chocolate ;-) DelRey, Chocolate Line (located on the ground floor of the 18th century Paleis at the Meir, Jitsk, Goossens Chocolatier (supplies chocolates to the White House),... you can't go wrong with either one.

Did you buy an Antwerp City Day Pass to go inside of all of these places or did you pay entry for each one? I am on a budget trying to figure out if I should do the card or not. I may only have time for one day. Planning a trip like this is difficult! Never enough time!

    • @LetsGo-Today
      @LetsGo-Today  Рік тому

I bought 2-Day pass for 55 Euros and I used it to visit museums for 2 days.
If you have the only 1 day, then I think it is not worth it as you probably won’t have enough time to visit enough museums to make good value of the card (1-Day pass is 45 Euros). You should pay for museums that you really want to visit individually as I think it would be cheaper that way.
There’s lots to do in Antwerp for free so you can save your money for all the lovely food and drink in the city.
