pieck wasnt scouting the scouts up close, also she could never remember armins face in particular out of over 100 soldiers, also also she only time she was around him was when he was burned to a crisp when zeke and eren met for the first time

A really tragic thing is that the only person Reiner could confide in, who could truly understand him and get all that guilt out of his chest, is the person he has hurt the most. They are oposite sides of the same coin

What an episode! You'd expect Eren to be seething of rage and vitriol towards Reiner, instead he completely empathises and almost even forgives him for the first attack. He isn't doing this because of hate or revenge, he understands most are just people trying to get by day to day, yet he's going to do it anyway. He truly believe it's the only way, which makes it even more terrifying.
Because there has been no other option. Eren really wanted to find another way to solve their problems, but no other option existed

Eren wasn't trying to partner with reiner or reconcile. He basically just came to get a bunch of things off his chest before he does what he's about to do
Just in case you miss the speech: when any royal family got Founding power, they will never use it (the activation of thousands of Collosal in Paradis), that's why Reiss family didn't use it as well. But now, since Eren, who is not a royal blood, got the Founding power, he can activate the Collosal / the Rumbling to destroy the world (we don't know how yet). That's why Eren has to die no matter what, hence this declaration of war.

At about 20 minutes, what you're saying is very true but its not always the same for everyone. Falco was raised in the same enviornment as Gabi but he feels completely differently about "the enemy" and war. In every terrible time in history, there are always people who are against war and hatred and violence, on every side, but they are often forgotten.

True, we saw this with our cadet team. Sure, some wanted to fight the Titans and get back their lost lands but others just wanted to get further away from them and live for just one more day.

@@j_castle9893 I probably wrote it wrong but I didn't mean to say you, it was a way of saying that I would never be on his side, I think the translation was weird, and about Eren I never liked him since the First And that didn't change my opinion as the seasons went by, it got worse, I even thought about stopping watching the anime precisely because of it... I'm glad season 4 arrived and He didn't have that much screen time.

In s4 I see him as a necessary villian created by the world. He for sure did a lot of bad but he not completely to blame.

Looks like on Patreon, they're only one episode ahead compared to what's on UA-cam, actually it's the same right now on 4x5, but I assume they'll post up 4x6 today. Wish they had a set schedule like most reactors, it seems like they're uploads are just random, & it could go anywhere from 1 day to over a week before we receive the next upload.
AoT isn't a good show to rush through. They already have enough trouble understanding what's happening

If you look at the moment before eren grabbed reiners hand, he overheard what willy said and smiled bcoz eren was hoping that he willy wasn't going to declare war. But when it was going to declaring war towards him he laughed at himself for hoping that willy wasn't going to declare war.

Eren did not ask Reiner to work together, all he did was help him get up, the subtitles are Tyburs words for the rest of the world.

The kind that keeps moving forward no matter what it might mean morally. Many people would have learned the "enemy" isn't actually what they were made to believe and they wouldn't be able to go through with it. But Reiner and Eren were different. It's like he was telling Falco a few episodes earlier "people that push their own backs see a different kind of hell" Reiner and Eren are those people because they are willing to do what must be done and not necessarily just doing it because they're forced too, they "push their own backs." as they continue forward. Erwin was also like them.

yeah believes are mostly based on your place and what do they teach/tell you there , but that’s why it’s important to check the other side story and listen to them , they had the time to see how people on paradise island acts and live but they kept attacking and lying to the people/kids in home about Eren and the others and what they were like , idk but I can’t feel bad for them 🤷🏻♀️
This! Marley never stopped attacking. For at least 65 years they've been attacking the island, sending Titans and then Warriors to destroy them all. They held a parade for the genocide of the people on the island. What's about to happen is their own doing.
Like, I feel bad for the Liberio Eldians who are just trying to survive the oppression they live under, but I don't feel bad for the citizens of Marley or their government. I don't think we've seen a "good" Marleyan in this whole show. Even when Eren references "good" people, they show an Eldian (Falco). Think about it.

Plus you say the Marleyans had time to learn about the other side but thats only true for the warriors, as far as random Marleyans are concerned 1700 years of oppression and a threat of total annihilation from the rumbling is the only truth about Eldia.

21:35 you're absolutely right, there is a history and it is hidden. If you search well enough and why do we have such disasters in reality that have solution that aren't acted upon. They all lead to the same answer. If you end up seeking one of the "three main paths" you'll understand that two of them are make beliefs due to people "listening to what they want to listen" or "choosing what they want to believe" and ignore the 3rd and true path. If you do as I just mentioned, I'm sure everything will make sense

That's a n important point in the series. People from different regimes are... The same people, regardless of their differences. Mostly of them has a very restrict access to the information about the world, and some of them are brainwashed to hate other people as his enemies. Governments fight with governments, dictatorships fight with dicatatorships... And in the middle of all of this they have millions of innocent people, who are just living their lives. From now beyond is a matter of choice, if you want to involve innocent people in the bloodshed or not. In the world of Attack on Titan we do not have diplomaticy, stuff like Geneva Convention to define what is a war crime or not, everything is choice based on what the characters think thats right or not, acceptable or not. I'm excited to see your next reactions!

....................they're really just US ( As a viewer) experiencing eren's point of view through how HE remember it. it'll make sense when u get to episode 21. so much depth and recalls in this show its insane. For Example, when Willy says " because i was born into this world" its almost like a trigger for eren, because back in season 1 when armin stabs him to get his titan in control to retake the wall with the boulder, eren says those same exact words. it almost makes you think, was eren really free, meaning have *free will*, or was it all predetermined because he knew what was going to happen all along. crazy ideologies.
I don't think it's the same. Rainer could give up and go home, but he broke the wall for his honor and his life.
But Ellen is different. If the liner doesn't break the wall, it won't come. And because war was declared at that place, I had no choice but to do so.

My favourite episode in all of cinema. Hitchcock’s “bomb under the table” the whole time. Great pacing and build of tension. Now look at its commentary on conflict and violence:
1. Shows why historical conflict is incredibly hard to resolve, because even after you can get past revenge and view the enemy as people, your morality is forcing you otherwise. Morality may be religion, patriotism, need to protect your family, culture or even just a selfish need to be accepted
2. Willy’s history on the walls of Paradis is like the fifth one we’ve heard, showing us that history is written by those in power
3. Notice how much media and witnesses Willy planned for his speech, knowing Eren will kill him. He knows that those who control the media, control the current narrative
4. The dialogue between Eren and Reiner is stunning. It’s tense and most of it is just recap and viewpoints. But it show that even if you can bring warring groups to understand each other, admit their sameness, acknowledge their guilts … it’s not enough
And I can go on. But back to the “bomb under the table”. When Eren explodes, it’s not just literal. He also bombs how we view him and this war, and it changes the direction of the show. In the next episode, you’re going to see some of the coolest action animation, but it will feel uncomfortable because of the innocent lives caught in the crossfire. Just brilliant writing, that forces us to evaluate our own morals and red lines
The antithesis of a mere soldier (Reiner) with a coward politician (Willy) is done so fluently and truly represents present facts with wars around the world. AOT is simply the goat…

I think Reiner expected if he ever saw Eren again for him to be screaming and wailing at him. But to see him so frighteningly calm was much more disturbing for him. The day of reckoning is here, my boy!
