Kayaking the Indian River Inlet

I ran that gauntlet a couple summers ago and could not believe the “shelf” created by the tidal difference. Pulled my 18’ Current Design kayak halfway underwater. I had to paddle for my life to make it to the ocean and back. It was fun tho!

The IRI is one of the most dangerous inlets in the country. Takes a lot of skill and strength!
