Hello and welcome to follow along in this vlog where I pack my hospital bag ready for the time the baby comes! ...and of course, the most important question is: what knit project to bring? 🤣

I am 68yrs old love your videos and patterns and the mother of 4 children which includes Triplets who are all adults now so I am really excited for both you and your husband and wish you a beautiful healthy and swift birth. This is the best years of your life bringing your new baby home but please remember to sleep when your baby sleeps so you can get as much rest as you can……oh and take the Beanie 😂 as trust me you won’t be in the mood to knit much! 👶🏼🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
I would make socks or something small. Maybe something for the baby. While your at the hospital

I’m 75 years old, mom/grandma and I TOTALLY agree with WhiteLotusOm! She’s right on target with her advice! The beanie would be good. It won’t take up much space and you probably won’t want to knit much anyway. Rest while in hospital as much as possible after your delivery. I’m so excited for you and your husband, and I can’t wait to see your new baby boy. ❤
This is excellent advice about resting and sleeping when the baby does. I suspect that the knitting will stay in the project bag for the duration of kika's hospital stay. Best wishes to her and her husband for the upcoming birth
One of the first things you realise when having a baby arrive is, there are no plans to be made. Its a time of allowing what will be. So excited for you and your sweetheart. My first was 3 days late and my last was 1 week early. They decided when they want to show up. Wishing you three a smooth and quick delivery. You got this Kika. 😊
By the end, everyone is sick of being pregnant. But you are lovely! And your knitting is great!

Another old timer here and completely agree with the others. Am mom to 4, nana to 8 and great nana to 1. I never had too much time in the hospital, was only in for 2 days each time. If iwasn't nursing the baby i was admiring this perfect little angel i was gifted with. The wonder of this miracle never gets old. Praying all goes well and quickly. Be good to yourself.
Maybe you could knit a tiny project like a tiny beanie that you're baby could wear when you bring him home. That's double special .... I wish you all the luck with your little new worldpower 😉🥰🥰
You should make an opening in the front so you can wear the big sweater when you have your baby in a wrap 💜 and please make a poncho for wearing the baby with all the beautiful patterns 🥰😍🥰
Do a small project for your son, it will be with you forever. I have just found a jacket that was knitted for my son, he is now 39 years old and its nice going back in time when he actually fitted it. Its a walk down memory lane, I shall be thinking of you, lots of love from me in the UK❤
Try what we have in US, called compression bags. Put yarn or pile of sweaters or afghan into them, seal them, vacuum out the air! Very flat n doesn't hurt items.

I’m holding out for a summer knits knitting book 🙏 we have warm to hot weather 9-10mo a year. Many prayers for you and baby, labor and delivery was by far my favorite part of pregnancy.
Love the idea to design and release more patterns by having your test knitters do more of your extra color knitting because I LOVE your patterns (especially when you add the video tutorial!!!)

I just love watching your videos! I’m currently knitting your Darling Cardigan which I Love Love Love! It’s my first attempt to knit a cardigan and your pattern and tutorial make it possible and so enjoyable!! Thank you so much for your beautiful patterns and tutorials which give me the information and courage to knit them. I’m so excited for you, having your baby soon! It brings back such wonderful memories for me. I was 39-43 years old when I had my 3 babies (they are now 19-24 years old). Unfortunately I was not knitting back then but I love the idea of you having special knits created during this time. You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this journey of having your first baby❤

Make a simple shawl to wrap baby to you when you're walking around. I lived in mine. My mother showed me how and it was so easy to have hands free but baby close. Happy motherhood and healthy baby.❤

I was happy to have fluffy socks and a simple cosy dressing gown in hospitals and mittens for the baby as she tried to scratch herself .
I'm getting very sentimental remembering my own labor/staying in hospital. I wish you an easy and fast labor, healthy baby and fast recovery. Hopefully these first days will be filled with love and will create a lot of lovely memories!

Kika, it has been almost 9 years since the last time I gave birth. My belly was also huge and I remember so well just before the birth I was so tired of being pregnant. Wish you all the best in giving birth. You know, it is the act that you will not experience that many times in your life., so enjoy it as much as you can! Sending you lots of energy for that moment!❤

Watching this while feeding my 8 week old, sitting in bed! I know from your videos how determined and driven you are but don't be hard on yourself if you don't keep on top of everything. Make yourself a priority so you can care for baby, everything else can wait. You will be surprised how much you miss the bump but having your body back is very exciting, especially when you get to eat your favourite foods again! Baby goes through so many changes in the first few weeks it can be hard to feel like you are getting the hang of it (and this is my third!) so be kind to yourself, ask for help from family and friends and rest as much as you can. My little one is already so strong and has such a strong personality it feels like she's been here forever. Enjoy your baby and take time to recover and be a family.

By the way have you thought of knitting a blanket in the hospital for your baby? It doesn’t require a lot of thought and would be a wonderful reminder every time you tuck your baby in.
I vote for the beanie project to take along. Hospital stays are not very long these days and trust me, you will likely want to either sleep or spend hours just drinking in the look of that new little one. I wish you all the best. Praying for a smooth delivery. ❤

Good luck Kika - hope you have a fast labour and are trying to rest when the baby does. Sometimes you want to be up & productive, but when you get woken up multiple times a night (me currently with a 10 month old), you need to find a way to squeeze in naps! And another yes to the pink vest pattern. But no rush - it's hard being a new Mum

Haven’t caught your videos for a while and so delighted about new baby … I think it must be a boy? Take care and enjoy … it goes by super fast. First those feet are 3 inches long and then suddenly the “boy” is wearing size 13 shoes!!!!! Take care! And look forward to following1

I would think a Maybe Forever Sweater would be a lovely hospital project. There are such good feelings in that pattern. Have a happy time meeting your new little boy!

Take a simple sweater project, but a beanie project can go in the corner of the bag for just in case.
So exciting for you and your hubby , it's the best time waiting and then you are parents, almost as exciting as new sweater designs , you are an awesome designer and you will be an awesome mom .
Such an exciting time for you all. I think all you will want to do is cuddle, snuggle, and look at your new little one, not knit!
But I love your idea of starting something new to commemorate the experience ❤
