If you get a high quality long burning fire starter, you don’t even need scrap wood or kindling, at all. It makes things so much easier to throw in a couple logs and a couple wax wood starters and walk away. It will be good to go.
Hello Thanks for the video Am about to buy this Wood stove , 2nd hand , a bit old .. Did you have any problem with the glasses (small cracks)? What about the Interior stone plinth ?
Great stove with no problems - the glass is like new but I clean it almost every burn and the inner liner seams like it could be easily cracked but it’s holding up fine. I am very carful not to force wood into the burn chamber.
Sorry this not thé easy way to start such a modèle. Simply put scrap wood at the back (standing) and at the same time put 2 or 3 logs at the front also upright. Put à fire starter, all in one go, then leave the door slightly open and or we go in one run. After 2-3 Minutes close the door and enjoy ! Depending on, you can reduce the draft by reducing the bottom air inlet. I’ve had it! now for 8 years, and this is the most efficient and not Time consuming way to start this model. Good luck
Thank You - Your way is much easier and is now how I start it every time. I can shut the door immediately after I light the starter as long as the air inlet is full open. In the U.S. we only have an air inlet control on the top of the stove.

Why is there so much unburned charcoal left in the bottom after burning? I would think this should all burn up and leave a more powdery ash.
What a beauty......!
I have a Wittis looks very similar

Great video! What size are your logs?
12" logs work the best
Hello. Can you heat up a 90 sqm house? What consumption does this stove have? 2 kg per hour?
