Thanks for the review Ian!!
Great to know that whenever I see an indie game on sale I've never heard of, I can go back and sure enough-- Noisy Pixel made a review!
Curly Bace.exe: Chain of Memories. This game is kicking my butt, and I love it. My favorite moment so far has to be getting ahold of Explosion and getting to play Megumin. My only gripe is I have no idea what's going on here. I get that story isn't the focus here, but an intro movie that plays when you boot up the game would be appreciated.
Anyone remember C-Wars? Apparently this is where the gameplay went after that game went tits up
Definitely got that mega man battle network influence! It looks cool, miiiight have to pick it up. Thanks for another good video team!
Definitely gonna have to check this out. Loved Battle Network and was surprised to see a game that seems to revive its gameplay.
Thanks for the review looks like a fun game.
I totally suck at this game but gosh I love it!
The battle system is amazing!
Doppelganger D I have unlocked 4 characters but not the shield girl yet. I feel like I’m getting much better, though!
Dont worry this game only requires you to learn by trial and error, have quick reflexes, and to remember over 200 spells and combinations... I'm sold!!!
😂 😂 😂
I fucking love this style of game, I cannot wait to play this
It looks interesting, but I'm not sure if I'd like it. That feeling kinda reminds me of how i felt about Into the Breach, which I took a chance on and was pleasantly surprised. I still enjoy playing Into the Breach now and then.
Probably suuuper late on this, but in any case you were thinking about it (or gave up on it) there is a free demo on Gamejolt I believe which is roughly 8 hours of playtime if you do everything fight on it with both available characters
Coming back to this review after the game has been out for over a year, it feels weird seeing that old Terra sprite again.
This is such a great callback to the MegaMan.exe games, but this is pretty faster pace and thus a lot harder.
So this is Megaman Battle Network battles but with the Final Fantasy ATB? That seems far too hectic for me. I like carefully planning out my actions.
I know you aren't asking for recommendations, but it sounds like you'd enjoy Slay the Spire. Odds are that you've heard of it, but for anyone who hasn't, it is a deck building roguelike with 4 very well tuned characters.
@@hatmaker5379slay the spire is amazing. i got it for free on playstation one month and it got me very interested in deckbuilders, roguelikes, and indie games all in one.
so many amazing games it led me to. currently playing returnal, which is ridiculously hard and extremely addictive.
Guys pls whats the name of the song the first 20 sec.
Amazing game! ❤️
I bought it, didn't really enjoy it to be honest.
It has all these deck building systems but the game always devolves into just spamming skills because the moment you aren't fully focussed on dodging the enemies will rain hell on you. Even when I have been entirely focussed on evading there have been times when so much stuff going on in such a small area that I can't even begin to dodge, and losing to that just feels crappy.
the game's got some very weird balancing right now. some bosses and enemies are a complete joke but everything that attacks diagonally is a complete clusterfuck to fight, see, reva, terra, selicy and the respective enemies that use bits of their movepool. no matter how good I think I'm getting, that stuff always trips me up. at least the game has reliable ways to recover HP if you have the skill to go for the saves.
This game remind me of megaman battle network
Surely you should play the Battle network games before this..and only if you want more tap into this game
Gameplay looks fun but it may not be my cup of tea. figured it was going to have a story like the Megaman games had. Thanks for very comprehensive review 😉
I'll rather just play classic megaman battle network lol, they did a good try though making a clone.
I knew going in that the story was minimal, but you still get the sense that there's more to the world that the game's set in. From the pre/post battle banters, you can get a little insight, appearantly Hazel and Saffron know each other with hazel almost always playing 2nd fiddle, and Reva knows of gunner's kill counts. Kinda makes you wonder how far the story could have gone if that was a focus.
Personally I liked it, but after playing for almost two hours I realized there wasn't much more I was gonna get out of the game and I refunded it. It's not bad by any means, and it only costs 1 dollar on steam so it's definitely worth its price tag, but for that price I can also get something more substantial.
*shows gameplay*
*shows him not understanding the dance puzzle*
Likely just didn't want to spoil that mechanic.
The whole just combat killed the hype for me
The way the grid just hangs there in awkward contrast to the different perspective of the backgrounds is off putting and makes it tacky in a visual artistic standpoint. Ima pass.
