Agreed 😤 They really missed an opportunity by not making clothing for the mini sheep and goats. Although, when I think of a mini sheep wearing a sweater knitted out of its own wool 😂😂🤣
The shearing for wool and milking for milk is only active if you have Cottage Living. If not you only have access to the simoleons option.

I'm glad they are starting to do more pack integration.
Its kinda a hit or miss with fans though, a bit of a damned if you do damned if you don't.
Because if they do fans will complain that the pack features are "locked" behind another pack pay wall, but if they don't the fan will complain the devs didn't do it and are being lazy.
@@EighmyLupin Honestly, I see that a lot more in instances where they don't put the cross pack compatibility than when they do. People typically seem to dislike it way more when they do things like what they did with My First Pets Stuff then they do if they just add a few interactions, at least for the most part.

I have cottage living but that's honestly ridiculous. This "expansion" pack sucks
I really got a laugh out of the tricks they can do. Especially the goats. If you ask a goat to yell, it will scream just like in the meme videos, and if you ask them to play dead, they flop over with their legs out, which is absolutely hilarious. I find it interesting that they made no distinction between sheep and llama wool, and cow and goat milk. Especially the milk. IRL goat milk (and, by extension, goat cheese) is very different, though I can see the practical side in terms of gameplay.
If you have a WIzard you can use your magic on the sheep and goats to help keep them clean. It's a much faster way of cleaning them. There are some other spells you can use as well but I cant remember them off the top of my head. Also as a werewolf I found that trying to scare other sims on my lot would also freak out my goats sheep and horses so watch out.

I got my senior sim a mini sheep as a companion pet and it’s the cutest thing ever. The household is currently a married couple, the husband’s mother, a mini sheep and a baby sim on the way. I like to play through the generations so the chaos goes up and down with household size and personalities 😅
They are so cute that I think that just for them it would be worth having that pack

Thanks for outlining the features and benefit of having the mini sheep and mini goats so clearly. Your video are incredibly helpful! The only reason I'll probably consider buying Horse Ranch someday is because of the adorable mini sheep and mini goats. And it's great to know their uses beforehand.
I would say this pack alone for just the goats and sheep is so worth it.
Also to note: Mini Sheep and goats can jump up small platforms but not stairs (for example the starter house just near the empty red roan lot has the platform in the front)
So I'd consider locking off areas you don't want them in if you have platforms
They also help your horses with social and fun.

Thank you for including the goat party, I have been playing around with how to be a profitable goat rancher and the live event just aint it for me. I think I need to see if the wool can be sold at one of the crafted selling tables So I can Create and sell items at a Co-op. ( I replaced the nightclub with a eco-lifestyle community lot and turned the bar into a fancy wine and cheese restaurant so new appaloosa is really touristy. I also added a full apartment suite to duke hall park so sims coming in for horse sales and competitions can get their needs and the horse's needs maxed out before show time.)

The biggest frustration and disappointment is not being able to have billy goats, the option to milk is always there. Goats and sheep really needed to be done like the chickens in Cottage Living, with two age groups, two sexes, and the ability to breed them.

So sheep and goats are okay roaming/living outside, even during winter? or should they have a hut or building of sorts to go inside when the weather is too hot or cold? I've been curious about that, if anyone knows.

Is there an option to milk and/or shear all sheep and/or goats in the game? Or even a mod? I’ve only seen one post about this on Reddit and it’s a bit of a pain to cherry pick the right ones when there are a lot. I tried separate pens that was still pretty inconvenient.
Can the wool actually be used for the knitting in knifty knitting? If not, that would be a totally missed oportunity. I mean most wool for knitting is sheeps wool....

That's a good question! From my experience they've all given normal milk, but I honestly haven't tried milking every single type of goat!
locking doors and fences for my mini sheep and goats aren't working i find them outside the garden and inside the house where its locked for them all the time. do you know what the problem is?
Someone know their life span? I have a mini sheep and a horse bought the same day. The horse was a foal, so 7 days, plus now he is at 25 days left od adulthood, meaning that the sheep is at least 32 days old, and is only an adult... they live quite the long life. I am playing in normal life span and also, yes the animal aging is on. Anyone knows when they will actually be elder and then died?

If you already have cows and llamas. Is there any point in getting mini sheep and goats? Like is there some difference in the wool and milk they produce over the animals you can get from Cottage Living?
No, and they can't produce golden or rainbow versions. The only benefit I can see is that it's much easier to care for multiple goats and sheep than llamas and cows, since they take up less space and are easy to feed with prairie grass.

I was so disappointed that couldn't breed them Iike chickens and the milking of the goats and eating bugs is odd. They're like a weird mix of the cow and the chickens.

I take it you cannot feed animal treats from Cottage Living? Because one way they could have made them live longer naturally would be to give them healthy treats.
They are so cute but I can't help but think they could have done so much more with them. Like, they did the absolute bare minimum and then just called it a day. Where's the cross pack compatibility and stuff.
