That song was Aretha's signature song when I was in Vietnam in 1968. No matter what type of day we had, the brothas took notice when this song came on the radio. it just changed our mood,
The restraint and precision of this intimate arrangement is absolutely haunting. Morgan always surrounds herself with the best talent - such angelic harmonies. It only takes one quiet piano to fill the room. Another fine performance from one of the great voices of our time.
Of course Morgan once again displays one of the purest voices of all-time, but this kid on the keys has some major talent as well. He has an amazing touch and phrasing for someone so young.
One of my favorite songs, love the Aretha version but Morgan James sure does this song justice. Met Burt Bacharach when his daughter was riding for SC ... what a timeless song. Thank you Morgan.
This is great. Morgan and the ladies got it goin'. I just saw Julius with the Time To Swing Jazz Quartet at Keystone Korner in Baltimore. He was "tearin' it up"
So, so very good! Thank you for sharing the incredible blending of your voices Morgan, Melodie and Chenee, with the amazing support of Julius Rodriguez on the keys. Unbelievably beautiful. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 😍
One more thing I truly like in her performances is the fact that it is very obvious she could do those ’without the net stunts’ with her voice all through the song. Instead her singing honours the song and lyrics and she has a very sophisticated way of control. Like the difference with good cooks and food artists. I can enjoy the song and not only excellent singing. ❤
@@comparedtowhat2719 no it isn’t. And it isn’t by Aretha Franklin. It was BY Bacharach and David for and performed by Dionne Warwick. Aretha is a cover.
@@comparedtowhat2719 and after seeing claims of “cultural appropriation” (stupid) claims of white singers on this song elsewhere made by people who have no clue this was written by two really white guys, I’m getting ahead of the game.

If Celine Dion can enjoy a run in Vegas, Morgan should be right there as well. Goddamn, what a voice.

I forgot Aretha sang this; the version I am used to was by Dionne Warwick. However, we're all in agreement on one thing: Morgan absolutely nailed it!
Aretha's version is great, but I will always think of this as Dionne Warwick's song.
@@BluePiano7 I think I am the same way.
I thought Burt Bacharach wrote this for Warwick.
@@Winterstick549 He did. She might have been the original; Aretha came later.
A day with new Morgan is a good day.

These Aretha Franklin covers lately have been outstanding! Those are some pretty big shoes to fill!

Morgan, you could do an Aretha show with this cast. It would be all good.
Been obsessed with Morgan James since day 1! ❤️

Great Cover! Thanks, Morgan!
Very nice. It's a lot like "I Say a Little Prayer" by Dionne Warwi.... er, I mean Burt Bacharach and Hal David.
Morgan.
Can you please give us your interpretation of "Love for sale?"

👏👏👏
Wow. I especially liked the piano part!
Because it was written by Burt Bacharach.
It’s to bad there isn’t a way to like this more than once…
Thought only Angeles sing like this.
💋💘♥️❤️💝🥰🥰😍🤩
No, by Burt Bacharach (composer) and Hal David (lyricist), sung by Aretha.
The big hit was of course by ms.warwick, yes aretha is also iconic!
Majstersztyk :)
Give correct credit.
This is BY Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

Never talk with me
Sharon Stone sings the blues...
Am I tripping, or is the pianist just mimicking the notes, on the video? 🤔
Does ir get any better than this?
A few diets would be in order there, lol.
