Criminally underrated band! You have an amazing ear to appreciate subtle sonic pattern David, and you're dead-on on the Tool comparison. They were in fact used to be the opening act for Tool during their North American tour back in 2006. Such a shame that they're disbanded.
@@MarkSpencer83 all great bands. My favorite band is Tool & I went to see them at The Gorge in Washington. Isis was the opener & I've been a fan since. Great show. After that show I went to my local record store & I bought some Isis CDs and a dude who worked there gave me a list of bands to check out. It included all of the bands you mentioned, Mogwai, Pelican, and Red Sparrows. I still listen to them all. Just great bands.
Oceanic is one of my favorite albums ever and especially "Weight" still gives me shivers to this day. So great to see a reaction video to one of their tracks.
@@mr.steinhaus6014 dude you need to recommend me albums by Mono. I listened to them like maybe 3 years ago and I just couldn't get into them. Is there any specific album that you could recommend for a fellow ISIS fan?
Nice!! Please do more Alter Bridge! "The Last Hero" is an epic song. I'd love to see Tremonti "Marching in Time" either, another powerful song. Bonus: Dance Gavin Dance - "Man of The Year" haha 🤘🏻
I always appreciate your breakdowns, this song was not necessarily my cup of tea but you helped me appreciate the flow and construct of the song. PS: kill the timer! It's disrupting your flow. (really distracting watching you look at the timer every 10 seconds during the last minute) Love your stuff keep it up!

I think it is a good thing, ending it where they were at their best.

Fuckin love Isis. In the Absence of Truth is an awesome record. The way the drummer creates space in all of their songs is really great.

The drummer switches up the beat at 3:19 and 3:47 also it’s just so subtle I didn’t even notice at first
Great song. And good ear, two guitarists, and the the keyboard player also played guitar some of the time, so they had three guitars going at times.
Post Metal peaked right here with this song...
If anyone likes this style, check out a Japanese Post Metal band called Mono, my personal favorite song of theirs is COM. Do it!!

@@floatingdisembodiedhead8975 One More Step and you Die and Under the Pipal Tree were the ones that got me into them.
@@mr.steinhaus6014 okay thanks dude, I'll be sure to give them another listen 👍
Probably, that day back in Turin in 2009 was the best music i ever had and unfortunately will ever have.
And yes, they worked with tool for a couple of years back then.
And it was no layers, It was 3 guitars, identically played live at the same level of quality.

2 guitarists, + a keyboardist who hops on guitar sometimes. They get their style/sound from Neurosis.
