I played this wonderful instrument for for six years in junior and senior High School. I used to practice playing this fantastic piece at home. It brings tears to my eyes to hear this. Merry Christmas !
You critics should be ashamed! This is what most amateur musicians aspire to, a great performance, sensitively played and nicely balanced with the accompanying players. Don't compare with top professionals, it just shows your ignorance of the vast majority of music lovers who enjoy local live concerts.
Hi Monica,Baie dankie, net oorkant in Engeland. Sekerlik naby genoeg.Woordeloos van dankbaarheid vir so 'n Uitnodiging duisende maal dankie. My Seun sal nie tuis bly nie.Kersfees moet elke dag in ons Harte wees een maal 'n jaar is nie reg,kom ons almal werk daaraan en maak ons Wêreld nog mooier liefde liefde liefde!!!!!
Why would you not give the notes full value? There is nothing about the euphonium that would require you not to do so, and there is no reason that it is supposed to sound this way. Listen to the playing of David Childs for an example.
tonyf756 - I think people owe the soloist an apology. If it is the same version that my band plays, the note you complain about as ‘short’ is written as a tenuto quaver/eighth note in length. The cornets fudge it and hold it too long and it does not end cleanly thereby running into the pick-up for the next phrase. He is unable to hold it as he would be out of time with the band. Well done to the soloist- Well played and nice tone.

Heavenly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mooi!
Indrukwekkend mooi
Lovely tone, but at the end of phrases you are cutting your notes short and not giving them full value. Makes the rendition jerky.
+tonyf756 is that not how the euphonium supposed to sound?
