7:56 describes this machine perfectly. Easily my favorite canister machine ever made. So simple, but so fantastically well engineered. It's almost a shame it's so reliable, because few people get to take it apart and appreciate the engineering.
I'm still partial to the Miele S8 Cat & Dog or C3. But these are excellent too. One thing I don't like about the SEBO is the foam rubber bumper. They fall apart and are time consuming to replace. The Miele goes back together with much less effort and the bumper is far more durable.
I purchased a Sebo refurbished in 2015 with All tools and hose extension for my 3 level home and it is engineered like a military tank not to exclude the triple air filters. Your disassemble and reassembled video was brilliant. I just added a Henry Allergy to my 3rd floor and it too is engineered for clean air and efficiency. Thank you for a professional job. 😊
Love my D4 for my hard floors. Had the melie Capricorn. It was great except for the electrical issues that caused it to turn off . Sebo is far superior in baseboard cleaning and overall clean. Better design as well.
Really awesome machine. I would even say this is better than a Henry but each has their own advantages and disadvantages. Would love to own one some day
So good to see you work on a vacuum you actually like for a change. I love the long cord but my apartment is a little too small for its super long hose.
I love these, but prefer the smaller form factor of the K series. I turned my D series into a vulcano by adding the orange belt to my black cherry color D1. Looks great next to my K3 vulcano. It really doesn’t get better than Sebo in my opinion.
Thanks again for the great video. I had to do some cord winder repairs on my 4.5 year old Sebo D-1. Slightly different but all the info was there . Mountains of dog hair were removed and I was able to tighten the retractor
From my perspective as an auto repair tech, this is a pretty damn cool machine. Very happy with mine, definitely feel like I made the right choice with the D4
That very motor format is the exact same as the 2100W version of the motor. They use this motor chassis for almost everything. I've only seen an older-style motor in an older 2100W K1 (in the UK). P.s. they spin at about 40,000 RPM - I've measured it!
Oooowww! Even the bosch vacuum cleaners have the same motor. I have a Prosilence pure air model and it has the same motor😍 and when I opened it to clean it for first time I was surprised how tiny the motor was😂😂😂😂😍 but it is powerful and expensive enough.
I have one, it's about 8 years old, a black D4 airbelt. LOVE it. Always used Electrolux's my whole life, but can't find them anymore, so gave the Sebo a chance. Only thing I don't like it it doesn't roll along behind you like the Electrolux did, this one can flip over sideways, so that's annoying. But, other than that I'm pretty happy with it. Also the last time I changed the big inside filter (from the bottom), ever since when it's running it makes a REALLY loud whining sound. Don't know why. Lastly, my "panty-hoe" got torn pretty bad on one side, so I duct taped it, then the other day the OTHER side completely blew out and a 4" piece of foam rubber came flying out SO I just ordered a new foam piece and a new "panty-hoe". I was watching your video to see how to change out that part, and you covered it, so thanks!!!
The trizac is a circuit board with a large transistor on it that allows the motor to be reduced in speed. Therefore because it soaks up a lot of heat it benefits from being cooled by the motor. Think of it like a power supply in your computer or a light switch that dims.
Nice video! I live in The Netherlands and here SEBO isn’t a well known brand. We can’t buy it in a shop. Many other brands are popular here. Miele, Bosch, Rowenta an Philips are the most selling products.
I do have one. No vacuum is perfect though with mine having a rather short hose and the swiveling is stiff and annoying. Apart from that it is fantastic!
How does the Sebo D4 tank compare with: -a Miele C3 canister? -a Tristar? -a Filter Queen? -any of the cheap Bissell, Eureka, Hoover or Dirt Devil canisters that come with electric nozzles and that we could get at Walmart?
I noticed with the telescopic wand of the Sebo D4 there is external wiring near the handle and along the length of the wand. Have there been any durability issues from this? Looking for a buy it for life vac. Also is this thing really that big and cumbersome to use?
I'd recommend you go try one at your local dealer. There are no issues with the wiring whatsoever. Here is my full review on the machine. ua-cam.com/video/IfrOUHcFeQc/v-deo.html
@@PerformanceReviews Thanks, that is an excellent review. You wouldn't happen to have the dimensions of the canister body would you? Read some comments about it being very large.
I am considering purchasing the Sebo D4 Premium canister, although I am concerned about any future problems with the electric handle. I was so disappointed with my Miele Capricorn that had the issues with the handle that I'm considering choosing an upright like the Sebo Automatic X7 Premium instead.
Well stay tuned I'm going to have a full in depth review on the D4 coming up. The Capricorn handle thing has been solved there's a kit for that though it's rather expensive. That issue also only affected certain models made within a 6-month period. This SEBO D4 is overbuilt in the hose is also half the price of the Miele to replace if for some reason you had issues the mechanically the electronics work very different then Miele hose issues have not been a problem with this machine to my understanding. Hope that helps.
Love my sebo airbelt . Recently the air pressure started to go red. I changed the bag and both filters, but still no change. Back blew the hose with another vacuum.... and still turns red. Alot of air coming out of the hose where it plugs into the vacuum ~ otherwise normal suction any advise??
You have something blocking something somewhere shine a flashlight into your floor to a wand and hose and try dropping a coin through it to see if it falls through. If all else fails go to your local dealer and have them take care of it.
I have s Sebo D4. The power cord reel has become very weak and will not rewind all the way without manually pushing the cord in. Is this something I can adjust or do I need to buy a whole new reel setup that runs about $64?
If someone is in the UK and buys a Sebo.... vs someone in the USA buying one.... from what I understand... it's much much MUCCCHH cheaper for them.... Why????
Why have a question I have one of these but mine's the black onyx version and I've noticed even when I had the white version that the cord would get hot. And sibo told me that was normal is that correct.

Literally the best vacuum I have ever had for my 2 huskies and Australian Shepherd. The BEST vacuum.
I adopted a heeler in March and just picked up a D1 at a thrift store. So excited for this!
I bought one from my local dealer in early December. Wonderful machine with its 40’ cord and 8’ hose. A pleasure to use. 😍
Love my D4 for my hard floors. Had the melie Capricorn. It was great except for the electrical issues that caused it to turn off . Sebo is far superior in baseboard cleaning and overall clean. Better design as well.
Very enjoyable to watch this. I always like to see what's inside vacuum cleaners and how they are built.

I saw them at my local vacuum dealer, they look amazing!
Thanks for doing this video. I just purchased a D4 to replace a 13yo Miele S7280.
Getting one of these tomorrow the man is delivering it from cathys sewing and vacuum in Tucson Az
Damn man, your videos have me excelling so heavily into this industry. Full service manager across 4 store, im the one to call

I know this may sound like a silly question, but what exactly is a Trizac? And what would be the benefit of it sucking air through the cord reel?

Miele. Bosch is a close second.

Import taxes tariff and transportation. Think about it it's having to be shipped halfway across the world when it comes over here.
Lots of money for such a tiny motor.
