Take my advice. You need to make the Wing and Base commanders realize that you are a vitally important contributor to the mission (Flying) by keeping your base mentally happy. You will never see field grade by just seeing patients. The Wing commander must value your work or you will not be needed past Captain. Volunteer to be a Commander or Instructor.
