Just because someone has a professional setup, doesn't mean we want to see it. Your production quality is just fine and we like your content. You're one of my favorites.
You are so stinking adorable! People who watch your channel are watching you for your creativity and talent, we don't care if it isn't "professional". My favorite channels I watch are just normal people like you sharing your passion for what you do. I like it because its like hanging out with your friend and learning how to do something. Too much production takes that quality away from videos. Do what you do, we love it!
Thank you so much I really appreciate it. It took some time to see that too. I remember in my earlier videos I was trying so hard to keep my kids quite and now when I go back to them hearing my almost 3 year old coo in the background makes me so happy.
Absolutely agreed. When it's too slick it looks like you're watching a long advertisement instead of feeling like you're connecting with a normal, real person.
I never once thought to myself, "Wow, I wish she was more tech savy." I just love watching you and seeing your beautiful creations! You make me go back in time to my childhood and I love you for that! Keep up the excellent work!
Hearing that you struggled with insecurity just makes me love your channel even more. Your videos are top notch! One of the things you do best is your scripts. Your explanation of basic construction or perhaps an alteration are what I first noticed. That and the French seams, lol. You have deservedly acquired quite a subscriber base. Go, SewRena! And Mr. Sewrena, wherever you are!
Thank you so much 🥰 I love a good French seam. When I first started sewing the one thing about my garments I was most insecure about was my seams. Since nobody taught me how to sew I didn’t know how to finish them. I didn’t even know how to google search “seam finishes” because that simple phrase wasn’t in my vocabulary. So now I shout French seams from the rooftops so nobody has to have messy seams if they don’t want it 😂
I’m so glad you decided to post videos. It’s such a pleasure to watch your amazing creations. Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. SewRena! May you enjoy many more years of marriage together. Thank you for sharing. 🤴🏽👸🏽🎉
I love your videos... high tech or not! I re-live my childhood seeing you in your dresses. As a child of the 60s, I remember my mom, grandmother, and aunts, who all sewed. I can smell the American made fabrics at the fabric store. I could feel the textures and imagined all the dresses that I would look good in. My mom tried to teach me, but I never had the patience. Sew, thank you for sharing your story and allowing me to walk down memory lane for a few minutes. ❤
I appreciate your concerns, but please under that we are here for YOU and the interesting and informative videos you share with us. You transport me back to my childhood…you create versions of clothes that my Mother wore. She was elegant and lovely and seeing you in similar garments is a lovely trip down memory lane. I also love your wholesome way of life. You are an absolute GEM. Keep up exactly what you’re doing…we love your videos ♥♥♥
Don’t worry about what kind of camera you have. I’m interested in your outfits and your technique. Your lighting is fine, the filming is fine. You don’t have to worry about having the best. What you have is doing a great job. If you don’t ever have a “professional” lights and camera it’s not going to stop me from following what you do. I love seeing all the beautiful retro outfits and the fun things you make with your kitchen gadgets! Outfit looks great as usual and I’m glad you got out of your head. We wouldn’t have been able to enjoy your creations if you didn’t! Thanks a bunch!! God bless! Beautiful outfit as always!
Your representation, personality and kind spirit is what is needed in the vintage sewing community. I have loved watching your confidence grow. The talent has always been there. I have a nice camera, a expensive light. But not your talent and passion. That’s what can’t be bought. And your kind heart, that can’t be taught. It’s a pleasure to know someone like you. ❤ I’m so proud of you!! And the 200k+ people here validate what Ive said all along. You are amazing and so is your content!!
You put on your Brave Hat and did it! Well done! I don’t look for professional production. I look for personality and content. Very few of us have unlimited funds. Especially for hobbies and sewing. Working within your means is what all of us do. Thanks for all you do.
I love your channel so much! Mom was a terrific seamstress and watching your channel reminds me of watching her sew. She was slender and fabulous in her 60s clothes, just like you! Shes in her 80s now and only occasionally sews.
Love the outfit! ❤. So glad you broke out of the insecurity of your videos! I have watched you from day one and you have grown and shine very bright without all the equipment! You either have "it" or you don't and you definitely do! So keep on with what your doing❤️
Thank you so much 🥰 it’s such a relief. There were times I would have up to 15 videos just sitting in my phone. Then I would delete them. I’m having so much fun now. Thanks for always supporting me
The green outfit! So gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your journey. I suspect we all struggle with confidence in some areas, it is encouraging to hear your thoughts. I also suspect that others don't perceive us as critically as we do ourselves. As evidenced by how much we enjoy your work. Blessings 🌻🍄
I love your videos and they are done perfectly, just go with it. You have many fans and very interested fans that see or used to & want to get back into it. You are humble and kind and in these times we all could use your skills and tips as the costs of everything is over the top. And you have provided ways to save money and still look great, have a beautiful home environment. Keep on doing them!! We love them!!
Your videos are so enjoyable because you are doing something different and interesting. It's fun to watch you create in your vintage home, whether you are sewing a suit or whipping up some 50s dessert in your totally unbelievable kitchen. I grew up in the 60s and absolutely love MCM, so watching you so perfectly inhabit that time period brings me joy.
Congratulations on your anniversary! This video is so lovely. Watching you sew the outfit is a great backdrop for your story, and I'm so inspired hearing it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. In a social media driven world, it can be intimidating to think we have to compete with other content creators. Your story is evidence that you can create beautiful content within your means. That's impactful and amazing. Love your channel!
Your scrappiness, resilience, out of the box ability to make do with what you have is part of your uniqness bc it encourages us as ordinary people and your skill really does shine through. We love and appreciate you and what you do❤
you do really well in all of the areas that you touched on. I have watched professional documentarians shoot nothing but their talking head while they explain architecture. you're more professional than a lot of professionals. I like your attitude. Start where you are. Do what is in front of you with whatcha got! 👍
Ms Sewrena, please know this: You. Are. A. Goddess. You owe *NO ONE* any apology for anything. *EVER* ! I wish my mother had lived long enough to see what you produce.
I just have to add my bit here -- the quality of your videos, especially if you are filming from a phone are excellent! Your hands are elegant. As you say, no idea where your insecurities came from, especially as they are unfounded- you are up there with the Best- very professional presentation and content, but what I think does it for all of us is that personal touch! Thanks for perservering and for being you!🎉
Please believe your commentators when they say they love watching you. We watch because we like what you do. It’s quite unique! I get bored of over- stylised and “perfect” type videos because I find they are self absorbed. Your lovely creations are always about the clothes and the feel they give. Actually a lot of us watch, because it brings a smile to our face when we see you wearing 1950s clothes. We’re taken right back to childhood when the grown ups at church or restaurants would wear the outfit you’re modelling. And you seem to have the same way of moving and showing them off, like 1950s models did. Keep going and show us more badly lit videos - we don’t care! 😂😂😂 Its just inspiring. xxx
You are so inspiring! I haven’t really tried to sew something in a long time. Your retro vibe is just beautiful! SO classy! Don’t be nervous about using your phone I have heard several creators say that they prefer using their phones. Found your channel a little bit ago and will be checking out your older content. Does your husband also dress all retro and your children? That would be so cool to have a family photo with everyone in their Sunday best.
For me it’s all about the sewing content, not fancy editing and videos that feel too “crafted”. Realism from the maker is important, having a staff to put it all together, but make it look like it’s all been done by one person is just a non starter for me. I greatly admire how good your videos are! Keep doing what you are doing, because it’s working! Love from New Zealand 🇳🇿 ❤
I'm glad you decided to post on UA-cam and got through that fear of judgement. I love and respect your creativity. The vintage apparel is so classy, it has always appealed to me although it's not how I dress personally. This type of fashion reminds me of an era when women could feel beautiful without exposing so much skin. Beauty comes from within, the clothing we wear is like the accessories to bring out the true colors from inside. You are gorgeous, the radiance shines from inward and shows outward, as above in mind and sews below in physical. Thank you for being humble and sharing your Craftsmanship with the world. Much appreciation.
Congratulations on conquering your unsurety 🎉🎉 BRAVO 👏. Going outside your comfort zone 😁 definitely can be nerve wracking but you did it!!!! I love your videos! They are very educational and enjoyable 💯👍 May God continue to bless you and your family in body, mind and spirit.
Thanks for sharing this video: it is inspiring on a more emotional/creative level for me. I'm not well off and lacking in equipment for my creative projects. I think of a proverb in these cases: "Necessity is the mother of invention"-Plato. Some of my finest creations were born out of necessity, and it feels good to not waste anything (fabric, supplies, food, time, etc). I think it requires bravery to put your things out there, and I admire yours. Happy Anniversary to you and your husband! Well done on the outfit too. ❤
Thank you so much! I really believe necessity is why I am so creative I have been in so many situations that required me to make it, or fix it if I wanted it, because brand new was not an option.
Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and all your fears of when you first started your UA-cam, look how you overcame it all!! 🎉🎉 You’re such a beautiful example if you keep putting in the work, success will come your way 🥰🎉💗 You give me so much hope and you give thousands of others hope that they can accomplish their dreams too 💗🥰
When I came across your channel a year and half ago I immediately subscribed. I've always said, no style is out of style or too old fashioned. I believe if you have a style that you love, don't worry about being called out of style. I love the style that you create for yourself. Styles considered old fashioned always come back. I love shoulder pads because I have narrow shoulders, they are coming back. I wish I had your talent and patience to create your own wardrobe. Keep up sewing the beautiful clothes.
Thank you so much and I’m most cases I don’t, but a few years ago it really hit me how most UA-cam videos seem professionally produced and that maybe there was no place for my quality of videos. I am so over that now I know for a fact I can’t grow or get better while also being fearful.
A lot of famous UA-camrs only use their phones. And it works fine. You are brave person and a positive influence on others who love vintage style.... but not vintage attitudes. None of my family are as confidant as you are and will never go online. Keep up the good work.
Both your pink and green outfits look great, but, whoa girl, green is definitely your colour! I love your videos and always look forward to them. I know what you mean about giving advice and then being your own worst enemy at taking the same advice yourself. Once that little voice of doubt gets into your head it can be quite destructive. Try not to doubt yourself.
You have became a friend to me. I love ❤️ watching everything that you do You my friend have brought back so many memories of my mother and I love you for that. Keep doing you because you are doing a fantastic job with your sewing and your styles. ❤🙏
I think the fact that you dont have the fancy stuff inspires me more. There are a few youtubers that inspire me now because they seem more real and accessible. I cant relate to someone who is rich when most days i feel poor. I want to watch someone who makes me feel better not worse. Long way to say i love your videos and can even watch you when im feeling down to lift myself up again
You do a great job! SewRena, your videos are very professional! Love them. I can’t tell you how many times I have crashed into my own tripod, managing to simulate an earthquake. Blame my girlfriends for encouraging me to make sewing videos. My klutzy ways are now on display for all to enjoy. I use an older Hi 8 video camera, with magnetic tapes, and older software, ‘cause that’s what I know how to use. My adult sons think my old technology is funny! 😂. I am 64, don’t want to learn anything new right now. Grump, grump! Cute pattern, brings back good memories ! P.S. Making a few videos during the pandemic made me feel less lonely. It was like I invited people into my sewing area.
Thank you so much for sharing with me 🥰🥰 I’m so glad my videos were comforting during the pandemic. I love old technology so I totally get it 🤣 and I have thrown over a tripod or two. I have also had my toddlers run off with them while filming 😅
I love your stuff. You're a beautiful, charming lady. Haven't seen your shorts lately. I also see, so I have a special appreciation for your amazing, talented work. Love the nostalgic clothing.
Happy anniversary!! And thanks for sharing. For UA-cam, the minimum needed is clear visuals and good, consistent audio. You have both. If your goal is to grow your channel quickly then yes, higher production quality will get you there. If the goal is to share your knowledge with a niche audience, then you don’t need the fanciest equipment. As you said, it’s better to publish than to hold back!
Gee I live your videos. There is so much that you give to those of us who follow you. Your content is just amazing, it does not matter about the type of equipment you have. Your videis are wonderful. Glad you have overcone your fears. Hugs to you.😊
I think your videos look as good as other UA-cam. I honestly don't see any difference. Plus I love your channel so just want to see you and your creations! 💕🇬🇧
I subscribed to your channel, not for video quality, but because I love your style. I love that you have the nerve to wear what you want, even if it is not the current style.
I LOVE YOU! You are one of the biggest champions of everyone and I am so glad to hear you are starting to use that cheerleader energy for yourself! ❤❤❤
Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your path to creating your work, videos and telling your very real story of fears holding you back and gradually moving ahead anyway and letting go of those fears! You're inspiring me!
I am a New Follower and I can relate that quite a few people use their Phone and do not have Specialized Equipment. Your Videos are “Great” I haven’t seen anything wrong with them. I enjoyed watching you do the entire outfit. I’m thinking about getting back into sewing and watching you inspires me!❤
You’re very welcome! I enjoy watching because I am 70 yrs young now and was a little girl back then watching my Mother & Aunties wearing the clothes you are sewing! The clothes were tailored to the body, beautiful and very classy! You have the figure to wear them well! I love “Everything” about that era and especially the ruffled half slips that made my dress standout when I twirled around. It made me feel pretty with my Strap Black Patient Leather Shinny Shoes! I appreciate you for preserving the History and the Memories! God’s Blessings upon you and your Family!🥰
OMG I found you doing a video on making a dress of some grown and I just love your style your imagination to see a design in anything, you have a great gift. Please keep on sewing.
After seeing one of your videos a couple years ago I was so impressed by your talent and really liked your personality. You’re doing fantastic and I love seeing your audience grow 😊
You have great content videos. It is the content that makes a great video not the production. Anyone can buy production quality, but great content is unique.
Today is 5-23-2024… Hey, just found you a few days ago on UA-cam and have fallen in love with your channel & you! I am watching this right now and I see nothing wrong with your phone or not! 💗💗💗💗
Very pretty. I especially like the green. I'm so glad you've gotten past that phase of recording woes and are happier with your content now. You always do nice work. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I love the shoes too, you look like a classic air hostess/ flight attendant Barbie XD Good on you for sharing this bit of the creation process, while everyone makes it looks 'easy', I think most understand that it take effort and resilience. I never thought your videos looked poorly made, while I'm not a pro, I do notice things like lighting and filters, and while it's very normalized, as a older person (42) I become very nervous about younger audiences watching those things and holding themselves to an impossible standard. It's understandable that everyone wants to put the perfected image of themselves out there, but it's also a bit sad, because reality is beautiful as well. I watch way too much True Crime and reddit content, so it's nice (for me) to have this happy place. You have a very gentle and soothing voice. So thank you for putting content out there.
I've been watching your videos for awhile, and I've never even thought about what you might be filming with to make them. Keep doing what you're doing and using what you have. You put out some really good content, and this pattern turned out awesome.
I love your work and the style or year you re produce. I showed my my she was so excited. Neither of us sew. 😂 I always ya wanted to learn. I love 18 century and the 60’s. Hope this helps with whatever you need
I really like your videos for their content. I think your videos are well made and easy to understand. (I'm not a native speaker of English). In general this home made Feeling is something I like about UA-cam in contrary to TV shows.
Idk why but I’m so surprised your setup is all just done in your phone! I honestly would not have guessed and it is super cool to me that that’s even possible. I totally get the feeling of like, not wanting to post something that isn’t, you know, “good” by standards that really only exist in your head. It’s so tough to overcome sometimes! Lovely outfit and a lovely talk too! Thank you for sharing!
I love how open you are about your anxiety in getting going on UA-cam. I’ve been thinking about starting a channel, but I feel like I just can’t get it right. This video was very motivating!
Just because someone has a professional setup, doesn't mean we want to see it. Your production quality is just fine and we like your content. You're one of my favorites.
You are so stinking adorable! People who watch your channel are watching you for your creativity and talent, we don't care if it isn't "professional". All I know is, the sewing world needs you and all of your uploads! You have hit the nail on the head, yet again! Just gorgeous!
Thank you! I’m so glad to be here
I’m so glad you decided to post videos. It’s such a pleasure to watch your amazing creations. Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. SewRena! May you enjoy many more years of marriage together. Thank you for sharing. 🤴🏽👸🏽🎉

Thank you so much 🥰
You do a great job!
@@SewRena , toddlers, a whole other problem. 😂
I love your stuff. You're a beautiful, charming lady. Haven't seen your shorts lately. I also see, so I have a special appreciation for your amazing, talented work. Love the nostalgic clothing.
Thank you 🥰😍
@@SewRena absolutely, I speak TRUTH
I’m not sewing, but I enjoy watching you. You are delightful.
Your quality doesn’t lack. I never noticed anything with less quality than others.
This is beautiful😊 they don't produce women like this anymore is very sad
Happy anniversary!! And thanks for sharing. For UA-cam, the minimum needed is clear visuals and good, consistent audio. You have both. If your goal is to grow your channel quickly then yes, higher production quality will get you there. If the goal is to share your knowledge with a niche audience, then you don’t need the fanciest equipment. As you said, it’s better to publish than to hold back!
Thank you so much! I wish I had to courage to just publish a year ago but I figured it out eventually 💕.
Gee I live your videos. There is so much that you give to those of us who follow you. Your content is just amazing, it does not matter about the type of equipment you have. Your videis are wonderful. Glad you have overcone your fears. Hugs to you.😊
We love your creativity. And when you are working with small funds, it makes me feel at home because I Can’t afford anything! But I love to sew!
Thanks so much! Honestly I love working with a budget it’s so accessible to most including myself and pushes me to be more creative.
Absolutely wonderful ❤️ and happy anniversary to you and Mr SewRena 🎉
Thank you so much
I think your videos look as good as other UA-cam. I honestly don't see any difference. Plus I love your channel so just want to see you and your creations! 💕🇬🇧
Thank you so much 🥰 I appreciate you being here with me 💕
I LOVE your content, just the way it is. I recently found your channel and immediately subscribed. You’re an inspiration! And Happy Anniversary!!!
Thank you so much 🥰🥰
You’re an inspiration to me. Thank you for being brave and being here.
You are an inspiration! ✨️ 💐 We are blessed by you overcoming your insecurities. Thank you.
God bless you and your sweet family.
Thank you 🥰
Your a joy and blessing to watch. Thank you.
The green outfit is AMAZING!!!! 🎉
I subscribed to your channel, not for video quality, but because I love your style. I love that you have the nerve to wear what you want, even if it is not the current style.
Thank you so much 🥰🥰
I love your content even though you don't have professional equipment. 🥰
Thank you 💕💕
I LOVE YOU! You are one of the biggest champions of everyone and I am so glad to hear you are starting to use that cheerleader energy for yourself! ❤❤❤
Omg 🥹🥹 stop I love you too thanks for always being in my corner💕💕
So glad you realized how awesome you really are. This is so cute.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your path to creating your work, videos and telling your very real story of fears holding you back and gradually moving ahead anyway and letting go of those fears! You're inspiring me!
Thank you so so much 🥰
Fabulous, I really love your videos, you do a fantastic job. Can't be easy with two babies, but keep them coming, Serena, we live them. X x x ❤
Thank you so much! It’s getting better with time now that I’ve found my rhythm. Voiceovers are a moms best friend.
I love your channel so much! You inspire me everyday to love the way I dress unapologetically! ❤
I am a New Follower and I can relate that quite a few people use their Phone and do not have Specialized Equipment. Your Videos are “Great” I haven’t seen anything wrong with them. I enjoyed watching you do the entire outfit. I’m thinking about getting back into sewing and watching you inspires me!❤
Thank you very much 🥰 I really appreciate your support and I’m glad you are enjoying my work 💕
You’re very welcome!
I never would’ve guessed you filmed on a phone. Your videos are right up there with most of the other channels I subscribe to.
Awww thank you 🥰
You have great content videos. It is the content that makes a great video not the production. Anyone can buy production quality, but great content is unique.
Today is 5-23-2024…
Hey, just found you a few days ago on UA-cam and have fallen in love with your channel & you!
I am watching this right now and I see nothing wrong with your phone or not!
💗💗💗💗
Very pretty. I especially like the green. I'm so glad you've gotten past that phase of recording woes and are happier with your content now. You always do nice work. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Thank you 🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing. I thought I was the only one feeling this way. I'm glad you got over those feelings. You are amazing and I love your videos.
I love the shoes too, you look like a classic air hostess/ flight attendant Barbie XD
Good on you for sharing this bit of the creation process, while everyone makes it looks 'easy', I think most understand that it take effort and resilience.
I'm here to see what you create with your sewing machine and I do enjoy what you do.
Thank you 🥰
I’m glad you pushed through because I love your content! I also now use your notch versions when I sew and it’s much better for me.
Thank you! I’m so glad you found that helpful.
I LIKE THE GREEN THE BEST NO, I LOVE IT ALL THE BEST I SO ENJOY THESE MAKES ME FEEL YOUNG AGAIN SUCH GREAT TIMES ENJOY EVERYBODY
The green is my favorite. It’s made of a lovely wool the structure is perfect and it’s my favorite color 🥰.
Beautifully done. I am glad that you are sharing your content
No apologies needed girl, you are AMAZING.😘
I appreciate listening to you talking about the process of this video.
🥰 I am so glad you enjoyed it
I love 💕 your content and love your style and don’t even sew. I think because you’re so wholesome and make it look so easy. Plus the era, so glam. 😊
My feelings at 3:45 "Oooooooh so you're human? Makes me love you and your channel EVEN MORE
Sewrina, I love you!! You and your videos are perfect!! I just enjoy you so much.
I love seeing your outfits! And these old patterns!
Love this! As someone who is trying to do it all on my phone I really appreciated this. Thank you
No problem 💕 it’s absolutely do able! We got this
I've been watching your videos for awhile, and I've never even thought about what you might be filming with to make them. Keep doing what you're doing and using what you have. You put out some really good content, and this pattern turned out awesome.
Thank you so much 🥰🥰
I love your work and the style or year you re produce. I showed my my she was so excited. Neither of us sew. 😂 I always ya wanted to learn. I love 18 century and the 60’s. Hope this helps with whatever you need
Congratulations on your anniversary. You are inspirational. Sharing your hesitation and you learning process is very encouraging.

Un bonjour de Belgique merci pour votre travail, toujours un plaisir de vous regarder. Thank you ❤
You have such a sweet demeanor and are very talented. Congrats on 8th wedding anniversary
Thank you so much 💕💕
I really like your videos for their content. I think your videos are well made and easy to understand. (I'm not a native speaker of English). In general this home made Feeling is something I like about UA-cam in contrary to TV shows.
you are a doll, love your video and your wallpaper and the green outfit 😘😘😘
Thank you so much for sharing your YouTubing feelings. This has motivated me. Thank you so much, you beautiful human!
Thank you 🥰 I’m surprised to hear that because I use to think that it was very obvious.
Loved the green one.
I really enjoy your videos! They are calming and you are so charming. Your videos look just great! Don't worry
Beautiful. So glad you decided to share it.
I love how open you are about your anxiety in getting going on UA-cam. I’ve been thinking about starting a channel, but I feel like I just can’t get it right. This video was very motivating!
I think you should do it. We all have to start somewhere, and someone will always want to watch!
This pattern is in my ebay cart right now! Thanks for the preview!
I enjoy your content. Thank you for sharing your fears with us. I think this is an issue that so many folks can relate to
Thank you 🥰
Beautiful and you are an excellent content producer 🎉
I love your sewing machines I own 2 Jenmores the 158 1914 and my first just sew built in table. What an inspiration you are so humble .❤
