  • Hybrids combine two different sets of string on the mains and crosses to offer increased playbility, durability or spin. Historically hybrids have featured two different material types, but poly/poly hybrids are gaining popularity. The idea is you want to the benefits of two different strings.

My currently set up is the most arm friendly it's ever been in my life. I can actually sleep on my arm at night lol. Vcore Pro 100, Restring Zero on the main. Technifibre X-One Biphase on the cross.

That’s awesome! I have not got to try Restring Zero yet but I have heard many good things about it

@@brodytaylor2020 Definitely a spin forward string! My friends who hit more through the ball are not the biggest fans. If your style is Nadal/ruud/swiatek, I can see zero being fun. 😊

@@davidcullen1078 for my current setup I went 17 gauge. In terms of tension I went 48 on the mains and 46 on the cross. A full bed of restring zero also had me with some pain.

I’m going to play test hybrid strings soon. How many hours on court would you play for each setup to get a sense if it’s good for your game and arm health?

I would say that if you are really wanting to compare different hybrids you need to have at least 2 hours with the setup. The first time you hit with it off the stringing machine is going to be a little erratic since the string has not settled yet but after that you can start getting a better idea of how it will play with your game. Some people can get away with playing a hybrid for over 15 hours, but I would say a good sweet-spot to make a judgement call would be between 3 to 6 hours. That gives you a few hitting sessions to see how the string does after it settles, and if it is going to be better for your arm health than what you were using before.
TLDR: At least play with it one full hitting session so the string can settle and you can adjust to it. Then after that you can usually make a judgement call within your next few hitting sessions
