- Welcome Air Dornier 328-110, OE-LIR, operated a flight from Airport Bern-Belp on behalf of SkyWork Airlines. The colourful livery looks fantastic on this turboprop aircraft. Enjoy the close take off view from different angles.
The Dornier 328 is a turboprop regional airliner and accommodates 31 passengers. The cruise speed is at 620 km/h (335 kts) for a range of 1,850 km. Two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW119B turboprop engines power this aircraft.

Nice video Matt, i just got home from church and thought i'd watch a few videos on a lazy sunday, this one popped up, i knew i had not seen it, i would have remembered that livery, very sharp, i like it. Reminds me of the aloha airlines distinctive livery that island hops our state of hawaii. You see it and you remember it. Have a good day friend.
Thank you very much Steve. Oh this one has a sad story! Unfortunately, Welcome Air ceased all operations in December 2017. The last remaining Dornier 328 was transferred to Bern. That is this one OE-LIR! The aircraft should have been sold to another operated and therefore underwent a maintenance check at the Aviation Facility in Bern. But no one has been interested in buying this aircraft. This Dornier 328 has never flown again and its condition is increasingly poor. Have a great day to my friend!
@@matthiashaenni yw Matt, sad indeed, are there any regional airlines left operating in/out of Bern, and if not, what means of transportation is available other than long distance driving, high speed trains ?
@@matthiashaenni also, i'm sure you know about the boeing 737 max 8 or 9, won't be seeing them until we know the problem here. Indonesia and ethiopia have not been quite cooperative with the FAA or NTSB here, and i'm assuming that is because boeing corporate is here and they figure on a biased report from the u.s., plus boeing is a huge military contractor here, and if there is a problem with the boeing military planes it will be classified as a national defense issue, and not reported to the public. Btw, national defense is the catchall phrase our government uses if they want to take something away or force us to do something,lol.

OE- is this indicating that the plane is "registrated" in Austria (OE - OEsterreich)? Most of the private planes and choppers on our local airport in Klagenfurt have OE-APK, or OE-xxx and in germany DE- But what exactly does that mean? thanks great video and nice sound, great surroundings
What's that plane fueled with, high octane Red Bull and caffeine? That was one fast taxi and once he got clearance and released the brakes, he took off like my teenage son did when I was after him! Great video!

Andreas Hoppe Agreed! Look at 0:40 and notice how the aircraft tilts to its left as centrifugal force takes effect. That pilot must really have been pushing things close to the limit. What wager s/he was an ex-military jet aircraft pilot?

Good questions. But the D328 is smaller. The ATR has been further developed. I look forward to the new ATR-42-600s STOLS!
