As someone who knows what it's like to be bitten not once but four times by a single black widow, I must say you earned my respect. Widow venom is a neuro toxin. Drop for drop widow venom is 15× more potent than a diamond back rattlesnake. The symptoms of a bite at first are those of a heart attack. Severe shortness of breath, chest pain , then tummy pain, nausea, I had a fever over 105° severe muscle pain. Convulsing, then worse paralyzed from the waist down. After numerous vials of antivenin symptoms improved however the paralysis lasted months. It's the same with the copperhead bite I had , critters are not out to get us. They do not go out of their way just to attack us. If they bite it's because we accidentally come into contact with them. If you felt threatened by something hundreds of times bigger than you would you not try to protect yourself too?
You were bitten four times, jackass. Your description is of a person bitten four times, jackass. The symptoms will be different and less intense than a person bit one time on their thumb.
I have always had an affinity for arachnids esp spiders. Currently, I have 4 tarantulas and Coyote is right...you can handle them if you stay calm. It's all about the vibration.
I’ve found black widow spiders to be fairly aggressive compared to most other spiders… particularly if you “bother” them. I’ve had numerous ones make a b line straight for me haha.
Ofc if you entice it will be, but compared to other spiders they aren’t aggressive at all. For example, i put my hand in a black widows web once by accident and instead of running to me it ran to cover its eggs. When theyre scared they’ll make themselves noticeable by showing their red hourglass
I got gobs of them around my house. Territorial and don’t wander. They stay in same spot. Very fast in their “tangled” webs. Fascinating and beautiful creature. I don’t touch the big ones but the babies sometimes crawl on me when I relocate them. SoCal.
I have black widows in my flower beds I respect them an they keep to themselves they dont get rattled by my presence (unless I accidentally bump their housing then they just scurry an inch or so then they go back in just like letting me know ummmm hey trying to sleep here lol) ❤❤❤😂
I actually had a really rare thing happen to me. I didn’t really realize it at the time, but I was in the Catskills in New York State stacking wood (I was little and helping my dad) I saw a spider with a red pattern on its underside hiding in the wood pile. I had the good sense to get away from it. I did some research just now and I think the spider I saw could’ve been a black widow. Apparently there have been sightings further and further north lately, and although I’m skeptical, the spider I saw looked remarkably similar to a black widow.
So, upon research, it's not impossible to see them in specific areas in New York, but it's very very rare. So it is possible you saw a real black widow, but I would assume you didn't see a second one growing up at all? If so, then it likely was something else
@@drawnbysean1624 If it was hiding in a stack of wood, then it likely was a black widow. They are nocturnal spiders, and assuming a lot of areas in new york have some shade, then there could be a few. If you remember them having a little red on them, that was probably the hour glass. It's extremely rare, but it isn't impossible, so I personally think it's possible
@@random_furry6114 A lot of areas in New York do have some shade and the wood pile itself was in kind of a secluded area, so it could have been. There were always spiders and other things hiding in the wood pile, and in the shed nearby, we had a big snake once.
Do the bite test like insects…? Or is it considerably worse than a bullet ant?? I’ve always wondered why you haven’t done a spider… are they another level of pain? Or just that they cause more damage?
This one can kick anyone’s ass in terms of pain. You can live through it, but it will 24 hours of agony. You’ll be lucky if you don’t have any muscle/ respiratory damage done to you for months or years.😳
Dear Mr. Coyote Peterson, I have some questions about the Black Widow spider that I hope that you could answer. 1. Are they flexible? If they are, how flexible are they? 2. I heard that they are almost completely blind, so how would you describe their eyesight? 3. I heard that they can “see” by feeling vibrations from the ground. But, can they sense vibration through any solid surface; like, wood, glass, metal, plastic, ice, dry wall, etc? Which surface would negatively affect their ability to sense the vibrations? 4. Do they have a sense of smell? If so, how strong is it, and how far can they smell? 5. Do they have a sense of taste? 6. How do they fight and defend themselves? I think that is all of my questions for now, I hope that you have a nice day.
I got severe arachnophobia and I just found a black widow under my porch stairs, I am absolutely terrified even though it's not even in my house. At least it's not a brown recluse
Videos like this are so silly if you find a black widow spider on your property kill it. There's no entomologist that's going to drive out to your house and get rid of it for you.
No matter what you have on hand, almost nobody is going to willingly let a black widow or any other dangerous creature potentially threaten their life.
The absolute truth of the purpose of you handling this type of insect is because you want to make millions of dollars like you have by simply facing people's fears

Thank you Coyote for doing this, you’re bringing me back the will of exploring and “be wild”. Thanks!
"Let her walk naturally"
Dumps the spider onto his hand.
Yeah I'll always have the phobia...has nothing to do with if they're out to kill me or not.

For being plopped into a plastic box and taken from her web, she was very cooperative.
"contact a local entomologist"... haha... yeah right.. that thing's as good as dead.
Where did that Opel GT come from? Makes a good story on its own
Well you've held a black widow are you going to hold a redback in Australia or is it to venomous to handle?

That GT is too clean 🤔.. I'm convinced everything is fake @ this point.. that black widow probably has all of its venom drained out of it 🥱
Why the heck do you do these things?!

Black widow spiders are dangerous and there venom is like acid.

Am scared of spider's and did you know that you eat in your sleep in 1 year 8-10 spider's
It's called an irrational fear for a reason. I don't care if they're not out to get us. I still don't want it anywhere near me
Hi coyote
Found one of these in a gas pump one time.
I also free handle black widows!
And the spider sayd don't sterotype us some of us want to harm you. Well maybe thats just me.
Venemous? Isn't it 'venomous'?
Yes it is
