Melissa Vargas (born 16 October 1999) is a Cuban-born Turkish volleyball player. She was a member of the Cuba women's national volleyball team and played for Cienfuegos in 2014. She was part of the Cuban national team at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in Italy. She currently plays for Fenerbahçe Opet. Since 2023, she has been playing in the Turkey women's national volleyball team.

The Melissa Vargas we are seeing is at about 70%. The power is not the same, the accurancy is not the same, the vectoring of the shots is not the same. Her knowledge, more than her physical power, is what helped her. However, she needed the help of Capt Eda, who took over in series 3, Ana Cristina who was a consistent force through out, and even young Arina, whose presence complicated the defensive schemes of Ecza. Of course you cannot forget the Minister of Defence, Gizem Orge, the spirited Asli Kalac, and the timely inputs of Meliha Diken Ismaiglolu

This is why I said that in the absence of the power and flexibility in her right arm, Melissa used her knowledge of the game to find a way to be effective. If anything, it was reminiscent of an older Michael Jordan, in his later years, when he had to use his knowledge of the game to counter the younger, stronger and faster players. We all pray that Milessa Vargas will regain the power and the flexibility in her arm ahead of the Olympics
