I think a rival version of this (with compatable clipazine) would be amazing! the clipazine would be a great way to not have to rely on gravity feeding. dunno how well Rival would do in a setup like this (besides the fact that you'd need a whole different type of barrel and everything)
The way I was thinking you could do a magazine is like with a... normal magazine, have a follower with a tab that allows it to be retracted, then load in darts from the side, and let the follower push them into place. From what I can see if the reliability of feeding was fixed this would be an awesomely reliable blaster, only let down by it's fps, but other than that it would be incredible on the field of batlle
Bows are cool, I love bows. I would love to see a range day with all bow type weapons or one of the unfair reviews, because clearly none of the standard bows would be able to even come _close_ to competing... though I would still enjoy seeing it. Maybe a test of the various community bow designs, I don't know I'm just blathering.
It is funny that you had a lefty vs righty mixup with Foamdemic. Their UA-cam videos are all posted in reverse/mirror image, so some of the comments are about how great it is that they are left-handed and have a left-handed blaster. But really everything is right-handed and the video is mirror image. (There is usually something in the background like the Gameface Prime that has reverse print on it, so you can tell.)
If the magazine is removable PVC spares with a fishing weight on a string behind the darts might push them down more but reloadable like that would be a extra step every time
This is a really cool bow blaster! I’d love to make one myself, as it seems super fun and actually pretty effective. Out of interest, what print orientation did the large grip and hopper piece have, does it seem strong what with the bow arms bending back and forth a lot? Thanks for sharing this!
Could you put a marble/pinball at the top of the hopper to force the darts down? Would have to be narrow enough to fit but wide enough that it wouldn’t feed
You could do something like the Xshot meteor or one of those rival blasters that you can load in from the side fife the feeding situation. Cut in a window and make a catch for the mag follower. That’s just one idea tho
What about using a second pipe with a spring that you lock in (over the hopper itself but with a follower and spring inside) when you filled the hopper ? Like the magazine in a real steel Levergun ? With some cutouts and taps ?
It'd take some tweaking/redesign of the central unit/section/grip, but maybe a sort of locking socket or lug mount where the hopper goes now that could instead accept a sealed-end magazine with a spring-loaded follower?
Hey captain I got a under barrel roughcut but the slam fire doesn’t work.I have watched your reassembly video and can’t for the life of me figure out why it’s not working. The priming grip gets stuck forward and I have to open the blaster and manually release the catch or just watch it explode. Any ideas why???
It might not look as clean but you could definitely use an RSCB layout instead of a Y, which would probably feed much better. It would miss out on the punny name though
Captain good sir, I'm interested in seeing your heraldic achviement. An esteemed person such as yourself must have had something to represent the crew. Right? Also maybe a video going over all your titles, just for the laughs. Love your videos, keep it up
I'm relieved to see that im not the only one with feeding issues. Haven't taken it to an event yet, because I haven't fixed it, but I guess that's just how it is.
Unfortunately, to my understanding, that's just an issue of gravity hoppers, not really something you can fix. Guess that's part of why it's so much less prominent of a system than it used to be, back before 3d printed blasters became so big.
@@themorrigan1312 not necessarily. Plumbing wyes, at least on the blasters Ive used only needed an occasional rock forward to load a dart. On this bow you have to shake it often, and get a lot of double feeds. I chalk it up to the inherent unevenness of 3d printed parts.

So pull the loading mechanism out of the Zuru Chaos and such?
Using a sillybutts scar barrel would mean you could fire mega XL if you so choose

Now I'm thinking about a Battle of Endor war with the rebels mainly using using these with a couple blasters, and the other using purely blasters.
That looks like a lot of fun. Capt. no need to pound out the dents on the pie pans, just turn them around and shoot them flat again!

Congrats on the vice piece, Captain! Excellent info for the skeptical masses...
Looks like a lot of fun! Thank you for the video!
A local I refer to as SGC uses this in our games, he seems to do okay with it and it out ranges my Faux Real Bow.
I would love a Spring Thunder version. Imagine a Shotbow like Terraria!
I used to shoot a recurve in the 7th and 8th grade. It's been a long time. I could get into that again I think.
Add a small weight at the last with a string attached to the lid. As the darts fire the weight pushes the rest down
I really really love the *thoomp* as it fires
Right!? Very satisfying.
Holy cow that things got some juice. You can really hear it cracking. For some reason that ball valve on the magazine drives me crazy 😵.

Perhaps you could attach your standard Ire thread attachment to that broken grip and have crazy modular fun with it. Maybe even call it the X Bow
...that is not a bad idea! I will need another hardware kit...but that might work!
I would like to see this for rival rounds as well. I am definitely going to be getting one though
If the magazine is removable PVC spares with a fishing weight on a string behind the darts might push them down more but reloadable like that would be a extra step every time
It’s quirky and has a few issues but I had so much using mine.
to fix the feeding issue could you find or make a weight about the same size as a dart to keep the wait consistent as to prevent feeding issues.

6:22 maybe adding a small little weight could work
It's definitely an interesting blaster.
Pears are a shape. And more of us are going that way.
Round is a shape.
It reminds me of the old nerf blasters!
Am I the only one that wants to know if the good captain can hit the sign in the back with this bow?
Could you put a marble/pinball at the top of the hopper to force the darts down? Would have to be narrow enough to fit but wide enough that it wouldn’t feed
Almost certainly. But it would severely slow down and complicate reloading.
I wonder if using Hyper or Rival can fix the feeding issue. Either way this bow looks super fun!

I considered that, but in order for it to work you have to seal the window. The hopper has to remain air tight.
Short dart bow awesome with bow arm tension
i think 50 cal foam balls would be amazing for this
They work amazing, one bow volley fire
I want to make a pro version. I also have a idea for a mag fed version.
What stops you from loosing a load of air pressure out on the hopper given the breech is not sealed?
The hopper is sealed. It has a value at the top that seals it.
Has anyone tried .50 cal. foam balls in one of these?
No idea. I suspect it would have interesting results.
I have, they are amazing, didn’t have enough to do proper testing. Instant valley fire
What about using a second pipe with a spring that you lock in (over the hopper itself but with a follower and spring inside) when you filled the hopper ? Like the magazine in a real steel Levergun ? With some cutouts and taps ?
It has to seal. That is why the ball valve has to be closed.
I was thinking that a PVC end cap that would twist on like an N-Strike barrel attachment that had a gasket at the top of the tube could work.
But will it/can it fire a Demolisher Rocket?
Not without a different muzzle.
@@CaptainXavier I would watch that video.
4 words: Little Rocket Muzzle Adapter.
Also: I can't help but wonder it it could effectively launch a Titan Rocket. (Given all that power and plunger volume.)
Ok, but what if we had this, but with a mag not a hopper.
How would the round chamber? Bolt action maybe?
It'd take some tweaking/redesign of the central unit/section/grip, but maybe a sort of locking socket or lug mount where the hopper goes now that could instead accept a sealed-end magazine with a spring-loaded follower?
I'm glad you're left handed. We are in our right minds. :D LOL.

First guess is the gears are not aligned properly and not fully cycling.
@@CaptainXavier thanks 😄😄
Neat ! Thanks 👍

I would rather not.
You should make videos on nerdy gingerbreads cteation.... lol
To blather? Don't you mean "to blathe"? 😛
Y, yes, I listen to Miracle Max 😛
No, because as we all know “to blathe” means “to bluff,” so unless he was cheating at cards I doubt it.
Liar! Liaaaaaaaaar!
