Danny Brown spilt his guts about struggles from his personal life, career history, and woes of the industry over some amazing beats and pitchfork really gave it a 6.5
Same here. I had that exact feeling when I heard Bass Jam and Hanami. Danny is such a special artist and I'm proud of him choosing to be open about his struggles with sobriety and depression. He's one of my favorite artists of all time and I hope he can continue to do what he loves while being happy.
This is the best reaction i've seen to this album. Your energy and passion is so infectious the whole time. Danny also retweeted your video on Twitter!
Its unfortunate that this video did not meet the expectations of ttt. It has 27 thousand views only, but i can see why you know danny isi'nt really mainstream he mad underground.
@@kevinfromttti know you like this album very much, its always fun seeing you vibe, but did you receive the reception of the video very well, because you know most of you guy's videos have over 100k views and this is a outlier,But i guess you dont care, you are just doing it for the vibes and fans. Which in that case i extremely respect. I also wanna ask, did you think this video would've received the same amount of reception the other videos got?
This is quickly climbing up the list of my favourite albums of the year. I haven't listened to any of the singles before the album so I thought this would be a chaotic album similarly to Scaring The Hoes/Atrocity Exhibition with Danny using his high-pitched voice and boy, was I wrong! This has got to be one of the most introspective records I've heard in the past few years and Danny's ability to paint a picture & evoke emotion is incredible. He sounds mature, vulnerable and most importantly real all throughout this record. What an artist & what an album!
Jenn’s Terrific Vacation is what I would like to hear more from hip hop. It’s some straight up jazz rap. It’s why I love tracks like “For Free” from To Pimp a Butterfly. It’s usually not people’s favourite tracks but I love for being an actual Jazz Rap song in between a Jazz influenced album. Mainly the frenetic breathless energy and the drums. Kassa Overall does that on this album.
Danny 'The Hybrid' Brown dropping an album called '40' in the year hip-hop turns 50 is something especially auspicious to me Also, that Bruiser Wolf verse on YBP is a wickedly brilliant performance (my fav feature on the album) that really opens a window to the infancy of rap and placed on a track next to Danny, especially with the lyrical content, is very much a cool 'then and now' moment, only Danny would
As soon as I heard just how unique, masterful and mind blowing the drums were on here from song to song for a hip hop album this year alone I knew you guys would dig it. As someone whose favorite album will forever be XXX i couldnt have asked for a better follow up and wonderful companion piece that really almost expands on the back side or “come down” side of XXX. I also love the fact that XXX ends with 30 which is one of his wildest tracks ever and Quaranta ends with Bass Jam which is pretty much his smoothest ever. Very nice dichotomy there. Anyways glad to see you guys enjoyed this, it’s definitely taken my spot for AOTY now and I’m so happy to see the growth in character and artistry Danny has shown here
On first listen this was a 7/10 for me (same score as Pitchfork and Fantano) but I've listened to it a couple more times and it's definitely a 9 for me now. After getting a proper understanding of it
Excellent take on the album and overall reaction, would love to see XXX next. It would add a lot to the understanding of Quaranta on top of just being an excellent piece.
I would love to see you guys cover some more underground artists like Kota the Friend. FOTO is one of my favourite projects of all time and I think you guys would have a great time with it. Love the content, keep having fun!
you guys NEED to react to some george clanton whether that that be his latest release “ooo rap i ya” or “slide”. both are such unique projects that i know your dad would enjoy
Thanks for doing this one guys! Sucks that your Danny reactions don't do great with views, but he's one of the most important rappers of this generation, and this coverage is important for the culture
@@50.CalFilms I'd also say Billy Woods has had an amazing year with his "Maps" album earlier this year and the Armand Hammer record that came out later.
@@TheDreamingJune I’ve heard good things about billy and what I’ve listened to I’ve liked, do I start with maps or is there a better album to get into him with?
Day 1 of recommending "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven" by Godspeed You Black Emperor. It's a highly rated post rock album and I think it'd be really interesting to listen to together.
I just binged so many of your videos and I LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH! You’ve reacted to so many of my favorite albums and it’s fr so much fun to watch. Your SZA, Rihanna, Harry Styles, and Tyler the Creator reactions are my favorites so far :) (Alsooo, I would LOVE to watch a Doja Cat reaction video!)
I love these videos. Music reactions are always great, but the structure of these videos always hits a cool niche that I feel no one else manages to hit, as well as often having great insights. I'd love to see you guys widen the approach a little, bands like Avenged Sevenfold released a new album this year that was pretty proggy for the type of music they usually go to, or even classic albums such as welcome to the black parade by my chem. I know its a different kind of sound, but damn I'd love to hear what you guys would have to say about it!!
WATCHING MOVIES WITH THE SOUND OFF by MAC MILLER!! i just got my 10 year anniversary vinyl release of the album and have been reminiscing ever since i spun it. i just know y’all would love to review it ❤
I really think you and your dad should react to Only By Night-Kings of Leon the album is absolutely phenomenal and I know your dad would absolutely enjoy the project
Ive got an artist suggestion that is different from the norm, but as a lover of artistry and production, I know you guys would LOVE a very popular latin artist name FEID. To get a feel for some of his songs, you should listen to “Normal”, “Aguante”, “Castigo”, “Velocidad Crucero”. I don’t speak Spanish, but you can FEEL the passion, artistry, spacey vibes, all of it. Maybe you guys could go through it with English lyrics. I just know there are so many people that would love his sound and spacey vibes. I hope you guys give him a chance, you wont regret it!!!!
It would be awesome to hear what you’re Dad might think of The Pretty Reckless! They’ve got some great songs. Going to Hell, Heaven Knows, My Medicine, Make Me Wanna Die. All bangers !!!
